Miller’s Ale House – Staten Island

After my fourth visit I felt it was time to leave a review.
First off. the location is perfect surrounded by costco, target, gamestop, old Navy, post office, five below and a few more stores.
The inside is clean, has that on the grill steakhouse smell… huge tvs everywhere… no matter where you are seated you can see at least 3 screens… 2 huge bar areas if you are into that sort of thing and clean bathrooms which are always a plus
Each time my wife and were seated, the waiter/​waitress would always introduced themselves, went over the specials and took our drink order right away.
Now for the good part… food… the Zingers are a house specialty and we always get them… we have had them with buffalo, bbq and the garlic sauces and each time they were gr8… the French fries are well seasoned and taste gr8, the onion rings are panto breaded and are average at best… the mozzarella planks were pretty good… the blackened chicken quesadilla was fantastic and the guacamole is gr8. the cheeseburger flatbread was actually very good.
But I saved the best for last… the chicken nachos… easily enough to feed 4 people… a mountain of chips topped and layered with cheeses, lettuce, tomatoes. the works… we brought the leftovers home and tossed them in the oven that night for dinner.
We never had an issue with service. .we were always checked on and needs were always addressed. never was an order wrong or issues with the food…
This has definitely become our goto spot and after 10 till closing. .Zingers are 5 bucks an order.
I highly recommend miller’s.. oh .and since I don’t drink… I did overhear the waiters talk about their ale/​liquor selections, they are educated well in what they sell and the other customers always seem happy with their selections…

The atmosphere is good. A lot of tvs with multiple games on at all times. But the service isn’t great and they NEVER give you a buy back at the bar. I went there and ordered two meals, one was good but the other was completely wrong and there was no accommodations for the error. The beers are highly priced and mixed drinks even higher as if you are in Manhattan. Overall not a terrible place just pricey for a sports bar and again NEVER a buy back at the bar !!

Great as usual! Tuesday has become our night to come in! Great staff, they already know what were having before we even sit. My rootbeer and sprite ready at table just as I sit! Now that’s service! Keep up the great work Millers!

Tonight went there waited 15 mins for a drink bartender finally comes over (Jeff) as we walk away because we are tired of waiting and says what can I get you my buddy says we are going to the other bar sorry we waited to long.
So we are at the other bar having a beer Jeff comes up to my buddy and tells him off and says he was rude to him and didn’t deserve that and got in his face total unprofessional. We waited 15 mins at a half packed bar come on… That’s u real if we were 2 21 year old girls we would have had drinks instantly.
So we ask for a manager we tell em the story and leave as we leave I say lets go to Fridays up the block. And we get on our motorcycles and leave.
We go to Fridays come out an hour later and my buddy finds his bike messed with.
Kind of a long shot and a little coincidence that that happened.
We go back manager says how do you know it was him he was here all night said only takes 5 mins to go back and forth.
Or make a call kind of weird at Friday’s not a soul in there and bikes parked secluded and someone does something after an altercation at the previous bar when they heard where we were going and only two bikes at millers then at tgi Fridays.
And also if one of my employees ever talked to a customer the way that bartender did they would be fired I wouldn’t stand for that!

Customer service the staff makes you feel like you just came to there house for dinner. Very attentive. Clean friendly environment an familiar with the menu

Went here for the ufc fight last night with my boyfriend. Which is a huge plus for the tvs they have everywhere making it nice and easy to watch any sporting event. The beers on tap is also a plus. The bar area and table seating looks nice and clean.
However the downside.
We ordered hot wings which tasted slimy and undercooked. Only thing good about them was the flavor on top of them. He ordered a filet well done and came out half well done and half med rare. (We didn’t even send it back but we should have). I ordered a blackened chicken Cesar salad and no surprise, the chicken tasted gummy.
I used to come here when it first opened and the food was great. However this is the second time I came back here in the past year disappointed. I will not coming back here.

It has gotten better. On par if not better than similar establishments on Richmond Avenue. Our server was fast, attentive and pleasant. Blackened Turkey Burger was delicious. Desert was excellent too. Recommended.

I like it here because from my business (Yum Yum Eastern Asian Cuisine) very close to it every time I can learn what I have learned, this great business atmosphere is more my business grow.

Food and waiter jahnelle was great. Had a bit of salty mash potatoes but the nice manger fixed it right away. First time here definitely not my last. Honestly because how nice the waiter was.

Food is awful, tried 2 different things if you like frozen terribleness this is the place to go service is nonexistent drink specials are pretty decent.

Brittany is the best bartender at Miller’s ale house. Her service is promp and always with a smile. She is friendly and responsive to the customer needs and deserves to be the employee of the month, every month – she truly is the BEST!!!

I’m happy to update my review as I did receive an email from Miller’s Ale house. I then spoke with the manager, Pete. He apologized and said he would review this with the staff. It’s unfortunate he was not there at the time of the incident as I feel this all could have been avoided.

After spending an hour in blinds to go, it worked up an appetite, so we decided to give it a try regardless of the iffy Unilocal reviews. We were seating right away, our waiter came over quickly and took out drink orders, we had some questions regarding two sandwiches which were answered & explained. For appetizer we both decided to try the French onion soup, which was delicious! Very enjoyable, and will most likely be back just for that. For lunch we had the steak sandwich with a gravy dip, mash potatoes & gravy, sandwich was a little salty, and huge (see pictures) wasn’t able to finish the entire thing, but it was good. Prices were reasonable also. The only thing I didn’t like is packing up my own leftovers, they bring you the containers for you to do it yourselfsomething about that really annoys me, I pay for a service & expect that service till the end.

This food isn’t even food. It’s really absolutely disgusting it will sit in your stomach for the next 3 days. I’ve never had worst boneless wings in my life. Also the chicken noodle soup was HORRIFYINGLY GROSS!!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS

I never came back on here but let me explain. My first review when I went with my son was not good, I was was impressed the manager got in touch with me and wanted to make amends. He told me to come in my name is on a list to be taken care of. Sir my name was on no list and when I asked the girls at the front they looked at me like I had 3 heads need to say I was embarrassed. I absolutely love it here. I’m not even a sports guy, at all, but I thoroughly enjoy going to Miller’s. There’s just something about the combination of the ambiance, the food and the very vast selection of beers they have on tap. The staff is surprisingly very nice, too. Not too much of the typical «SI attitude» in my experience.
If you’re looking for a place to relax and meet up for some drinks after work or on the weekend, this is an excellent choice.

I wish you offered Prime Rib each and every night. Wth, it’s just not fair, it pains me to know that you separate me from the meal if I could not make it on a Thursday! What is wrong with you, please choke yourself, how dare your do this! I’m an American, I’m a U.S. Army Veteran… Why do you do this every week except Thursday, I should get lawyer and sue this establishment y, y, y… I cry myself to sleep over this, every night with the exception of Thursday. … BTW, the Prime Rib is really good, :(…

I went to watch the Yankee playoff game and sat in the back room at the bar and a girl bartender served us. My bill came to $ 33.95 and I gave her $ 40.00 for the bill. Normally my change would be $ 6.05…She puts down $ 2.00 and walks away. When I call her over and tell her she gave me the wrong change, she thinks I want my 5 cents back and goes in the register and slams it down on my bill as if to say «here’s your nickel back.» I corrected her and told her it’s not about the nickel, you shorted me $ 4.00. She then says «are you sure?» As I have $ 2.00 in my hand. She gives me the rest of my change and says I’m sorry a few times.
Ale House should stop hiring bartenders out of bartending school or cannot count money properly!!! Been in the business and know exactly why she slammed that nickel down… not good when your trying to earn tips to act this way!

A lot of the reviews on here made me wary to dine here, but I’m glad I did! We originally wanted to head to Applebee’s for the half price apps, but they are only open until midnight.
I came here on my 21^st birthday eve for a late night drink and some appetizers.
Pomegranate margarita was AMAZING. Pineapple Patron margarita was also delicious!
This place has a TON of tvs so it’s a great place to come watch a game other than Buffalo Wild Wings!
Our server Catherine was awesome. She brought out some type of ice cream cake with Heath bar in it that is by far the best cake I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely be back if just for the cake :)

Excellent service, drinks and food. Prices were very reasonable as well!

Service is great, everyone’s helpful and pleasant. Lots of TV’s tuned to various games so you are definitely going to catch what your looking for.
As for the food… Well let’s just say that… They have lots of TVs

I have eaten here a few times… besides the chicken nachos the rest of the food is pretty awful. The beer and tvs make it an okay place to watch the game but the burgers and wings on a good night are mediocre at best.

I’m glad I waited until after my second visit to write this review, because it was a nightmare. First time was fine, ordered the quesadilla appetizer and the Big Red sandwich w/​fries. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked. Also ordered the Chocolate Pounder for dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Cake was amazing but the whipped cream it came with tasted like Cool Whip… not good, not quality, and I HATE cool whip. 1 star for first visit.
Second visit on Wednesday September 16^th 2015 was another story. Once my boyfriend and I were seated it took nearly 15 minutes for anyone to approach us. That whole time I saw a few employees who were just standing around talking to each other, as if they had nothing to do. Finally, someone came and we told her nobody was helping us. She went into the kitchen and then our server came out. We ordered right away. Boyfriend got the Zinger Melt while I got the Chicken Philly. I had to repeat my order about 5 different times because our server was not paying attention. I also told her 3 different times that I did NOT want the bread toasted, and I asked for a side of medium sauce and blue cheese dressing. When a runner brought out my food, of course, the bread was freaking toasted! It was a thick piece of bread and was as hard as a rock, plus they forgot my medium sauce. Had to wait a few minutes for her to come back. I said, «I asked for this NOT to be toasted, it’s as hard as a rock» and she mumbled something real fast and took it away. My boyfriend started laughing ’cause he could tell she still wasn’t listening. Of course, 5 minutes later she brings my sandwich back out and it’s even MORE toasted, it’s nearly freaking burnt! I’m thinking, «OMG really?» I still was nice about it and told her for the 20^th time that «I DON’T WANT IT TOASTED!» Finally she gets it and brings back an un-​toasted sandwich. By that time the inside was cool and unpleasant. Toasted or not, the bread was garbage. It was horrible quality and tough like rubber. To add insult to injury, there was barely any meat inside, it was 98% bread, see my photo for proof. And the fries, also trash, they were overcooked and really dark brown and they tasted stale and of poor quality. Needless to say I left there starving because I was served only bread.
I have also eaten at different Ale House’s in different states, always loved the place, and this was supposed to be my go-​to restaurant whenever I was at the Mall. Sadly, I will not be coming back, I don’t appreciate being ripped off. Bye!

I love this place. However, I only return back here repeatedly thanks to Jackie Light. She is the best waitress at Miller’s Ale House and makes my experience worth it all! I highly recommend you ask for Jackie when you dine here!
Jackie helped accommodate me with my food allergies. She went the extra step to find out how certain foods are prepared and helped me find a dish I can eat. This is extremely helpful when having an allergy to corn and I appreciate it greatly!

Seriously this place is excellent. The service is so friendly and courteous. The food is GREAT. For the first time in my life I got a steak from a chain restaurant and I ate the whole thing. No chewy loses the flavor disgusting pieces or too much fat, this steak was perfect. The mashed potatoes are real, not instant. The buffalo wings are full and juicy unlike the nearby buffalo wild wings.
I will come here every time without fail. Also they have all the beers on tap that they advertise and a knowledgeable staff to give recommendations.

Slowest service on the face of the planet. Our waitress was super nice, but everything runs on the ultimate Hawaii time here. There were hardly any customers and still it took forever to have our order taken and food served and then the check… After we received the check we asked another staff member to take it and run it. She didn’t understand and thought we had already signed and told us, with mega attitude, that we could just leave it on the table. We repeated our request, and she finally snatched it and took it to our waitress. The thing that annoyed me was how much attitude was packed into her little body. If you hate people so much, why are you working there??? Now onto the food– it was okay, typical ale house type food. I probably won’t visit again!

Ale house… delicious in every state. After struggling through some sub-​par food, we saw ale house on the way back from the supermarket and needed to stop in and grab something we knew would be delicious — a zinger mountain melt with hot sauce and extra crispy fries!
I did find myself embroiled in an Abbott and Costello routine with the lady taking my order about what I meant when I asked for hot sauce, I told her I meant the sauce that was hot, she asked if I meant the hottest sauce which they call mount saint Helens, I told her no the sauce they call hot… it did end up being the correct order, so that was good.

It is a nice establishment and a lot of seating. The drinks are cheaper and the food is good. I would recommend this spot for a large group.

Nice place. Took my parents for a little anniversary dinner. Food was great. Chicken zingers was awesome and for a special of $ 5 each was a bonus. Drink menu was cool.
Wait time wasn’t too bad. Long enough to score 1 round of drinks at the bar.
I had the Ossobuco and with the Mash n gravy which was pretty good and filling especially for the price.
They have sangria and margarita pitchers for $ 10, a double of Jim bean for $ 7, and a double of Jameson for $ 8.

I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews on here! For a chain, I thought Miller’s was pretty darn good. It’s comparable to Applebee’s in food but it’s definitely a bit more expensive. I’d rather come here than go to any of the other chains on the island.
The wait can get a bit obnoxious during the weekends but they have a very good ticketing system — you get a number and there’s screens everywhere that tells you what’s the current number — even outside!
I had their Surf and Turf special, which is ~$ 19 for a steak, lobster tail and a side. Pretty good deal! Both were pretty tasty and you can even add a better side for a dollar.
The Boyfriend had the Seafood Steamer bag, which had clams, mussels, corn, a lobster tail and shrimp. So many yummy goodies!
The pork shank is also pretty good — very tender and rips right off the bone.
I like that Miller’s has both seafood and red meats — much more variety than many other chains.
Service was pretty attentive — we did wait a bit for the check, but it’s definitely not a deal breaker.

Best time to come is during happy hour! Half off appetizers! Who doesn’t love that?! The portions are huge also which is a plus when you are sharing with friends. We got fried calamari, buffalo shrimp and the chicken quesadilla. I wasn’t a fan of the calamari cause it was too fried for my taste.
The chicken quesadilla was amazing! It was huge and it also came with rice and beans on the side so you can put it on the chicken quesadilla along with sour cream and guacamole. YUM! esp since its half off it was like 4 $!
Feiendly service, fast also.
