So I can’t speak of the food, but I jumped on Unilocal and found a restaurant near by that took reservations. We arrived on time and walked into a completely empty restaurant that had a waitress watching TMZ. She said sit wherever you’d like and we literally had all ten tables that are in this place to ourselves. We then started to look at the very lengthy food menu that had prices listed such as 9.90 and 12.40. First off, bad sign if no one else will eat there. Second, you can’t make all 300 dishes on your menu well. Let’s just be honest. And third, why the random pricing. I challenge the owner to go to any fine dining place that takes reservations to visit during the dinner hour, review the menu, experience the ambiance, review the pricing and go back into their restaurant to review what is happening there. Needless to say we didn’t stay to eat. We waited until the waitress went to the back leaving us in the dining area alone with TMZ and such out. No need to make a bad experience worse by waiting for food to be added into that nightmare.

This place is not worth it at all. They took an hour and a half to deliver(told me 30 – 40 min) Food was horrible. Chicken looked to be old — nachos came soggy Overpriced.

My fiancé and I have been searching for delicious food in the Great Kills area for months. This place sounded good, he ordered a bacon stuffed burger that was supposed to come seasoned with herbs and I ordered the applesauce pork chops. They were delivered quickly and they were still hot, however they were not as expected. The burger was covered in Rosemary, to the point that you had to spit all of the Rosemary out as you ate it. The fries and onion rings tasted frozen. The pork chops also had Rosemary and not an applesauce but an apple and maybe cranberry chutney. The chutney was pretty good but the pork chop was overall sort of bland. The food was decent but just not as advertised.

Only done takeout so far but place looks like a nice little bistro. Food is excellent! Hamburgers are freshly made and taste amazing. No diner patties here. Grilled chicken is great as is the Pasta Bolognese.

Ok so you are on the South Shore looking for a place to eat. My girlfriend and I decided to be adventurous and trust Unilocal to help us make a decision between traveling to the north shore of SI where we usually are very pleased or finding someplace locally we could enjoy. First things first, the staff at Paradise is very friendly and they strive to keep you happy which is a great quality for any waitstaff. The food was good. While there was one or two things that could have been better, all in all we feel they delivered a solid meal for this side of the island. The atmosphere was quiet but quaint for a busy night. I also didn’t penalize them because they are unknown. Portioning and price were very good. Here’s the breakdown if you need more info: Service — 5* Food — 3.75* Presentation — 4.25* Atmosphere — 3.75* Portioning — 4.5* Price — 4.25*

Ordered some burgers from this place from a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised at how good the burger was. I have to say that this has been one of the best burgers Ive had from takeout in a long long time. The burger was incredibly juicy and flavorful and not a pre made patty nor was it frozen at any point. At around $ 9 per burger Id definitely recommend and will try to eat here again!

After ordering from Paradise from time to time and enjoying their sandwiches decently enough, we decided to try out the restaurant first-hand after hearing good things! The rating on here was good so I figured it had to be decent. The place was a little small and slightly uncomfortable, but whatever, I didn’t mind much. Was kind of quaint. Sort of. Our service, while extremely friendly, was pretty ridiculous. From mixing up orders more than once to having to remind people several times about refills that were ordered or silverware. But I figured what the hell, it happens. Rough night I guess. What was completely unacceptable was the quality of the food we ordered. You’d expect their Chicken Mac N Cheese, at about 17 dollars, to be some elevated form of Mac N Cheese with breadcrumbs, different blends of cheeses, etc, was quite literally a plate of Velveeta with diced chicken plopped on top. Both that and the chicken parmesan were extremely bland, and incredibly underwhelming for their respective prices. We were quite dissatisfied, and left in quite a hurry because we simply could not touch our dishes. Unfortunately would not recommend.

Waiting for my Clothes to dry at the Laundromat next door on a miserable Cold Rainy Night, I decided to stop by PARADISE Restaurant for a nice cup of Hot Chocolate! I looked at the desert menu and there were so many great choices but I decided on their unbelievable upside down pineapple cake… DELICIOUS I also want to mention Best of Luck to the young lady I met that was her first day on the job! I know she will do great with the nice conversation we had & by the time I was leaving she wasn’t as nervous as I reminded her we all were in her shoes & she seemed so more confident! The menu at PARADISE has the great lunch & dinner prices & nice décor that would be good for me to take my Children & Grandkids

Had an amazing lunch and a couple of sangrias. After seeing burgers delivered to another table, our decision was made for us. We ordered the Luger burger. One beef, and one turkey. Both were exceptional! The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were in and out without feeling rushed or like we were waiting. Lovely time!

I was in town for only a few days and discovered great food at this place. I called in an order and by the time I got there it was ready to go. The food was excellent and I’d be happy to go back!

Came here on Sunday with my husband. We thought it would be busy but there was only one other table besides us and one waitress. Soup was good and both of our burgers were yummy! Our waitress was young and very attentive and kept apologizing for the wait on our food saying the kitchen was backed up with deliveries. She kept bringing out bread to compensate for the wait time which was nice. I would really like to see this place get busy!

My husband and I walked in to no tables set for breakfast at 10:30 on a Sunday and about 3 tables of customers. It seemed very unorganized with napkins all over the bar area. There is literally no natural sunlight, is a smaller dining area, and the dark table cloths create a weird vibe. The staff forgot our table settings once we sat and it seemed like other people around us were encountering similar problems with the wait for their food or drinks. The waitstaff loudly speak to each other while you were sitting waiting for your food which didn’t make for the best sitting situation. Also, customers who had take out orders had to come back and ask for butter or whatever for their meals, also loudly walking through the dining area. And the wait for the food and a coffee refill was pretty long. But the food was really delicious. We had the savory crepes, oatmeal pancakes, and the asparagus burrito. Really good food. Maybe they’re still working out the kinks for the front of the house. 4 stars for the food 2 for organization and ambiance

Seems brand new, décor looks nice but very small and crammed. Roughly about 8 tables. Wasn’t packed… Entered the restaurant. Took about a minute and a half before the staff decided to acknowledge us and seat us. Saw every table *but ours* with a basket of diner rolls… Got waited 5 mins after we sat down to get our menu only… Another 5 mins to get glasses of water. Still no dinner rolls… MENU a very large suggestion from burgers to steak to paninis, to pasta… Alot seemed like ur typical dinner food but hey its American right? So nothing wrong there. Asked the waiter what he recommended… Exact word from him was… «I had the honey bbq stuffed burger last night, it was pretty good, I liked it *chuckle*» We ordered a Honey BBQ stuffed burger, a steak salad, glass of berry sangria and a fried crêpe ice cream… Got the sangria in a red wine glass *didn’t realize* 5 mins later bartender brings over another glass of sangria apologizing about the first glass being in the wrong glass… Compared the 2… First glass tasted like a whole bottle of red wine was poured into that glass… Not complaining about the amount of alcohol but it was strong… Second glass was nice and balanced like a berry sangria is suppose to be… Food took about 15 – 20 mins to come out, not bad burger was nice and salad was a salad… Waiter asked if he could get us anything… I said«yea, it would be nice if we could get some dinner rolls and ketchup» waiter acknowledges and runs into the kitchen… I get a small cup of ketchup from the bartender and a small cup of ketchup from the waiter… No dinner rolls… Burger was cooked medium as I ordered, and the salad’s steak was minced steak meat so was like a Philly steak spread over a garden salad… Gf was somewhat confused but whatever… Halfway through the meal, waiter brings out our dessert… And explains the cook made it early and was afraid it would melt… Judging by the plate… It seemed to have been made at the time the order was placed cuz the ice cream was somewat melted and spewing out of the crêpe… *entirely our fault, cuz we placed the dessert order along with the entrée order, but waiter should have known… He was actually not sure what to do… He brought it back in and the chef said he would make us a new one when we were ready* Ready for dessert, crêpe came out and bartender brought over a sample of caramel apple martini… It wasn’t bad, still prefer the 2nd glass of sangria… Overall food was decent… Service had kinks and needs ironing out… Review woulda been 4 stars… If it wasn’t for the darn dinner rolls…

Went here for breakfast and it was yummmmy! They have a nice assortment on the menu of regular fare but also some nice suprises like savory and sweet crepes, breakfast burrito and eggs benedict with avocado. My husband and i ordered the avocado savory crepes that comes with chicken, pepper jack cheese and pico de gallo. It was very good but the hazelnut crêpe with bananas and whipped crème were excellent! Server was very nice and friendly. Place is a bit small but it wasn’t very busy. Food came out shortly. Only reason I am giving a 4 is i wish there were more choices on the menu!

We went to Paradise restaurant after getting an advertisement in the mail. I’ve been to PK’s Diner before and found it odd that Paradise is in the same shopping center serving the same type of food. We ordered and shared the fried mozzarella appetizer which was OK but nothing special. We did comment on the tomato sauce holder that was used to dip the mozzarella sticks, being the smallest cup we ever saw. Also, the dipping sauce was more of a pink color instead of a pure tomato sauce, but was tasty. I ordered a Ruben sandwich and my partner ordered a cheeseburger platter. After the order was put in, the waiter(who was very nice) came back to us and said the kitchen ran out of rye bread and advised I pick another meal. I always have a back up meal just in case and this time it was an the Asian Chicken sandwich. The food came out not too long after the appetizer plates were taken. The presentation was nice with the steak fries and selected garish. I bit into my Asian Chicken sandwich and noticed, it was only vegetables(no chicken). I opened the sandwich and confirmed there was no chicken in the sandwich. I contacted the waiter and told him what happened. Although, the waiter was apologetic, he also found it funny and said he was looking forward to showing the chef this mistake. My partners continued eating his burger and he said it was fresh and tasty. About 7 – 8 minutes later, my sandwich came back to me and this time it included the chicken. Unfortunately, they reheated the fries instead of giving me a whole new plate with new fries. Unfortunately, they were quite greasy the second time around. Overall the sandwich was OK but, nothing special. As I was eating it, the meat was sliding out of the bread due to the abundance of asian sauce added to the chicken. The waiter apologized again for the mistake. It would have been nice if he would have offered us a dessert or a cup of coffee, but that did not happen. Overall, Paradise was decent but like I mentioned throughout this review, «Nothing Special».

It seems like a 2 star rating is so poor yet«meh, Ive experienced better.» is a perfect summary of my dinner her. Easter sunday me and my boyfriend had no plans and we decided to try this new spot. It was nice and modern and cozy too. The glasses of water were practically warm and we had to ask for a straw and were then given a bendy straw? weird for a fancy ish place. and i ordered chicken parm. with penne vodka sauce. the chicken had practically NO sauce and was dry and chewy. the pasta was less bleh but thats my fault i should know better to order pasta in a non italian restaurant. Anyways i didnt like it but didnt wanna be snobby so i just wrapped it to go after two bites and we got our free dessert(cake rolls) which are bland hostess cake tasting things. heres a picture of my plate the next day i didnt even want is as leftovers :/, paradise seems like a good breakfast/lunch spot but i didnt enjoy my dinner here.

Wow. I have wanted to try this place for awhile now. We used to be fans of PKs when it was Comfort Diner and everything was made fresh and homemade, and the staff had a clue. Now its a hot mess and we don’t go there anymore. Lots of shortcuts taken and bad service. Paradise, was the exact opposite. Beautiful room, maximum of 10 – 12 tables. Excellent service. Very attentive staff. Great lunch options.(Wraps, paninis, burgers, etc). They have a salad section of the menu where you can add a burger, salmon, chicken, or shrimp at an additional cost. After years of going to diners and ordering a greek salad and asking them to put the burger in it, this was refreshing to see on a menu. Hands down, it was the best burger my mother had ever had.(and she is quite the critic). My burger was very well seasoned, fresh, juicy and cooked just how I like it. My pear salad had red and green leaf lettuce, candied pecans, bleu cheese crumbles, pears and mandarin oranges. Omg. So good. Burgers were huge. Def splitting one next time. Wide steak fries were fresh and delicious. The food tasted very fresh, the salad dressings tasted homemade, the meal was perfection. Also very reasonabiy priced. Skip the diner scene and head over here! These people know what they are doing. Very pretty interior and bar also. It is great to have a place to eat where the food is not processed and frozen and an owner that understands that fresh is best. I would go again for any meal and/or drinks. Cant wait to bring my husband here!

Just stopped in to check it out and had a great time. The place is small but not cramped and the service was fantastic. The Salmon with pineapple salsa was amazing and I would definitely suggest it. It’s located in the little strip mall next for the JCC on Arthur Kill Road and walking distance form AKE. Looking forward to dropping by again.
