Definitely one of the best pizzerias in staten island

I swore against thin-crust pizza until I tried Denino’s. The crust is crispy but still generous, and the pizza comes out hot and oily(but not so greasy that it makes you feel sick). We’ve tried nearly all their varieties now and the MOR(meatball, onion, ricotta) is the overall standout just because it’s so different and because the flavors blend so well together. And definitely get the cheesy garlic bread and the shrimp parm platter — I could go to Denino’s just for those appetizers even if I wasn’t in the mood for pizza.

I hadn’t been here in years and the pizza just brought me back. The ingredients are delicious and fuse well without spilling over into each other. Compartmented is a good word for the crisp crust, smooth sauce, and satiating cheese coming together and yet never losing its individual character.

Best pizza on Staten Island! Really good thin crust, New York style pizza — just what you should in a pizzeria in NYC. Service is quick and reliable, and even if there is a wait at the door, it’s never very long. Parking can be very tricky sometimes. It’s all street parking, and the area is crowded. Bring cash as well, since they do not accept credit cards.

Yummy!!! Was looking to get a taste of «NY pizza» and got exactly that. That crispy thin yet still chewy crust… so good. *Fried Calamari lightly fried, batter was good it’s not like it would just flake off like other fried calamaris *Garbage pie little bit oily but generous amounts of meat! *Margarita pie definitely liked the basil on it, wish they put more! *Got M.O.R. pie as carry-out, prob will also be delicious! Service was kind of on the slow side for our table in particular, not sure why. Other tables around us were seated after us yet got their drinks, had their order put in and got their food a lot faster than us. Oh well! We weren’t in any rush anyway.

Stopped there while in the neighborhood. We were referred there by friends of friends and we were glad they told us of it! We tried the MOR Pie that was so very good… makes me hungry thinking of it! Meatball, Onion and Ricotta that blended great. A must try if you go. Waiting to go back to try the plain pie! Staff were very attentive and friendly and they serve alcohol if you’re in the mood for a quick drink: D I would be a regular if I lived near here.

My husband and I were in Staten Island visiting Snug Harbor and we knew had to visit the famous Denino’s. We were glad we did! Not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but pretty darn good! You can only order whole pies here, which to me says real pizza place. They have about 10 – 15 choices or you can get a cheese pizza and add toppings you want. My husband and friends decided on a margherita pizza, a white pizza, and a buffalo chicken pizza. We did half white pizza and half buffalo chicken pizza on one, which they had no problem with. The crust is very crispy and thin. The margherita was good! The cheese was of high quality, the basil seemed fairly fresh, the sauce had pretty good flavor. Maybe could have used a bit more garlic. The white pizza is different from a typical white pizza; there was no ricotta on it, just mozzarella and onions. It was pretty good too! Again, could have used more garlic. I didn’t have the buffalo chicken pizza but everyone seemed to enjoy it. Not living in Staten Island, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here, but I would go back if in Staten Island. This place is cash only, so prepare accordingly when going. We went on a Saturday afternoon and didn’t have to wait at all.

They still have the best fried calamari with spicy red sauce around!!! Crispy breading, tasty calamari with a nice kick for a sauce. The pizza was perfect. A good amount of oil and great quality mozzarella.

Denino’s is one of the best pizza places on the island. My husband has been coming here since he was a little kid and now we come here together. Each time we’ve been here, although it’s usually packed, we never wait long. There is a bar at the front of the restaurant too so there is somewhere to wait. Last time, we ordered a pie, half sausage, half plain. Amazing. The fried calamari is also a favorite of ours. This is an all around great family place with good quality food.

Staten Island is known for their pizza. And this is one of the reasons why. Interior: Very large and spacious. You shouldn’t have a problem fitting your group here and waiting at all. Very home style Italian feel to it for sure. Pizza: My favorite is just the Mariana cheese slices. Thin crust and saucy taste with great cheese give you a good feeling that you came here. I had also the clam pie and I did not like it at all. But not to say its not good but I am just not a fan of clam on a pie lol. A side not too — The mozzarella sticks are so freaking good that you have to have it first as an appetizer! Overall: Come here if your visiting Staten Island and want pizza that’s it lol You have to bring CASH!!!

Pizza perfection: crispy crust and perfect cheese to sauce ratio. Buffalo wings are also amazing!

One of the best clam pies I’ve had. Thin crust but not too thin where it sadly droops as soon as you pick it up like it doesn’t want to be eaten or something. The clam was awesome — generous, delicious, flavorful without any weird fishy taste or anything. Pies only here. I liked that they let you do half toppings(plain on half the pie). This way you can try the plain as well. The price difference wasn’t that much for the half/half pies but cool that they offer it on the menu. The plain was good too. Place was pretty big, lots of seating. Believe I saw a private party room too. Friendly service. Some craft beer offerings even. Also, Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices is conveniently located across the street but they are closed for the winter, fyi. CASHONLY! There is an ATM inside though — not sure about fees.

We enjoyed our time here, we order a margarita pizza pie an it was really good. We then ordered a bunch of finger foods to pig out with. *Wings *Frys *Chicken fingers *Calamari Thing is they don’t sell slices only pies which was fine for my dinning in, my boys can eat 2 – 3 slices each. Nice setting, we where seated right away thank goodness bc right after us became a wait to eat. Parking is a bit rough bc the lot is very small but along the side blocks you’ll find something. We’ll be back again.

News Flash: Denino’s opening in the Village soon! We know SI is nothing to f’ck with, but! this famed SI landmark isn’t going to Brooklyn like the Islanders, but the isle of Manhattan. Taking the ferry to SI is a lovely ride, but the SI44 is another story. The thick– skin on zucchini sticks with a slightly spicy marinara are worth the trip alone. So is the $ 6 house salad & the house made dressing dressing. The crispy pie, thin with the semolina finish hits all the great pizza buttons and next time we can eat it right in Manhattan!

Took a day trip to Staten Island recently to visit some landmark food places we heard about from friends, and this place was one of them. We wanted to just get pizza by the slice, but quickly realized it was more of a bar/restaurant type of place. After we started eating, it didn’t matter because we practically killed the whole pie. It was AWESOME. I’m a thin crust and crispy kind of pizza girl most of the time, and Denino’s slices were just that. Good amount of sauce, cheese, and crust consistency was on point for me. The black olive topping tasted great. Prices are avg and the pie tasted great with the ice cold beers we got on tap. We sat at one of the tabletops near the bar so we felt like it was the nice casual meal we were looking for. The back dining room isn’t huge, but looked like it could seat a decent amount of people. It was fun listening to side conversations of locals at the bar… they were funny and seemed like a bunch of characters. This place was exactly what we were hoping it would be and more. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Not sure about restaurant half, but it was cash only at and around the bar. ATM is right in front.

I was joking with my Unilocal bud Atif, I feel like this week I went on the Atif east coast food tour! I just came back from vacation and I had to get this Unilocal review out, the pizza was really really good. Normally folks would have to wait for a table. I’m friggin BillySalts, back on my home turf! I don’t wait, I get the best tables with no waiting!(Yeah right) I walk in and this cutie pie Italian waitress greets me. I’m handed a menu and tell her I’d like a ½ pepperoni pizza. Anything to drink? No, I’m fine She looks at me and smiles, nothing? Now I just had a nice southern meal in Charleston S. Carolina. The customers and wait staff were nice but… they’re sterile? I can’t explain it,(Actually, I can but I don’t want to take away from this review) Son this is Staten Island! I’m expecting push back, its natural to me. I’m a little flirty with her and ask for a Blue Moon on tap. Now I’m looking at this place. People from NJ talk about their famous bar pizza(Eww and hell no) This is the place where the bar pizza originated from! When you walk in, there is a bar. Its dark inside. Local Staten Islanders having a beer and just enjoying a Friday afternoon. I’m seated behind a bunch of older buddies. They’re probably 70 and talking like they’ve been friends for 50 years, a nice buncha guys. My pizza comes out, ½ pepperoni. The pepperoni has some heat to it, its a little spicy! But the cheese? Man… I’ve been down south all week. To have this New York, correction, Staten Island pizza. Oh its good. Its downright slutty from the streets good… I guess what really makes it, the crust is thin. Is that semolina on the bottom? It has a little crunch to it. Normally I’d order a Margarita pizza with fresh mozzarella, olive oil and basil. Lemma ask you something, if you wanted a New York style pizza after being away from New York, are you gonna foo foo it up? Hell no! This is «our» bar pizza. So Jersey? You got all our sports teams so you can eat our crust. Great New York pizza! if you never had it before, you need to stop in Staten Island and experience our great NY pizza.

Anyone who rates Denino’s under five stars should be ignored and their judgment questioned. Denino’s is perhaps the best pizza on planet earth. Seriously, to all those saying how awesome the pizza here is then leaves four stars, you need to reevaluate how you rate here. Denino’s has the best crust, the best ingredients, and it’s not changed one bit since I first ate here in the mid 1970s as a kid, a teen, an adult, a Staten Islander and an ex-pat who fled to the mainland of NJ over a decade ago. Words do not convey the greatness that is Denino’s. The founder should have a statue erected in his likeness. Come here, order any pie, any app, and tell me you have had better, you’d be a big fat liar. It’s a divey bar with a simple but clean restaurant that has the best pizza on the planet, go, go now.
