Loved coming here as a student! They have this awesome deal for $ 6 which includes rice, 3 side dishes and either a drink/soup. I loved coming here because it reminds me of semi-authentic Chinese dishes that I would find in Flushing, NY. Good for coming here if you want to grab quick dinner and getting on with your day, or sitting down with some friends. Lay out: Tables are laid out for 4 people so I wouldn’t recommend coming with a large group. Ambiance: Casual dine-in or take out vibe. Its not loud in there either. Service: People are really nice here and always give copious amount of rice. Food: Several selections to choose from vegetables, meat and typically 4 types of soup. I can’t say that its the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, but for a small spot in State College at that price, it is BOMB. Enough to eat in one sitting to get stuffed or to eat a portion and save the rest for your lunch the next day. You also get a nice fortune cookie at the end.

My favorite Chinese food spot near the west side of campus. China Dragon is really reasonably priced for the food you get. For $ 7 you can get a ton of sesame chicken, rice, & wonton soup. Sounds like a great deal right??? It is! If you’re in a rush you can have them grab food for you from their buffet in the front. I prefer to ask them for freshly cooked food. They make it stays really hot until I’m ready to eat it! It just is so tasty!

This is a weird review. The service here is so awful, you might leave crying. The woman in charge is rude, worse than the Seinfeld Soup Nazi. She will embarrass you, yell at you to slide over and share your table, to move your coat, as loudly as possible. She may have no food left for the last three hours of the night, and offer you choices from cold trays piled up on a back counter, while she has hot food in the buffet line that she will say is for her family seated in the back seats. Not for you! If you ask her what an item is in one of the pans, she will bark it out in a heavy accent… whatever you do, don’t ask her to repeat it! If you do make this fatal error, be darn sure you choose to get that item! The upside? Best deep fried fish, best pork chop, best best best boiled eggs, best $ 7 deal in town. It makes me mad that their food us so dang good. Get there early. Don’t pay for the 3Choices for $ 7 unless you are there, in person, to order.

Real Chinese Food, out of the park. Americanized Chinese, hit and miss. I usually go in for authentic Chinese food lunch special and I loved it. Today, I was craving for some Americanized Chinese food, because even Chinese Americans like that fake stuff. And my family owned a Chinese takeout, so I have fairly good amount of experience to base this on. Food — I ordered chicken and broccoli, wonton soup, cheese wontons, and veggie lo mein. Chicken and broccoli is standard. Wonton soup — the broth needed salt, and the dumpling needed some salt/soy sauce. cheese wonton — AMAZING, even better than my mom’s(LOL). Veggie Lo Mein — Lacks flavor. I guess it’s missing the salty and hint of sweet flavor or maybe that’s how they do it in PA. Overall, I didn’t expect too much from the Americanized food and I got exactly what I expected. Maybe they cook it this way coz the majority of their customers like this bland taste? I can definitely vouch for the authentic Chinese food. It’s like Heaven and Earth when I compare this food to the authentic Chinese(so much flavor). I will still go there for the Chinese food, but(ironically, since this place looks like an fake Chinese place) this is not where I’ll spend money for the Americanized Chinese. FYI, I wanted to do delivery to see how they compare to my old restaurant in NJ. I lived a couple of blocks from there and they don’t charge delivery fee(HUGEPLUS for me). It was kind of slow? I ordered at opening time, so maybe they needed time to get ready. My food came in ~40min. I hope my driver doesn’t do this, but the delivery guy gave me a face when I tipped him. Idk, I didn’t HAVE to give him a tip, but now I feel bad. I mean, I gave him a couple of dollars and he only did a 5 min drive. Either give him a bigger tip or takeout. lol

I’ve ordered Chinese from here plenty of times in college. Their chicken is good and so are their wontons. They also have great specials where you can get a soda, an egg roll or some soup. Delivery was always decently fast, too.

Food is delicious, good prices. The main thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is the service time, every time I’ve ordered delivery here it takes exceptionally long to arrive, often over an hour. If you’re willing to wait though the food is terrific for the price.

I’m a pescetarian, and this was my second visit. I got the 3 sides and a soup dinner for $ 7, and had string beans, spicy tofu, and breaded fried fish. The tofu was firm and rather good, but not my favorite. The green beans though, mixed with napa cabbage and some other vegetables, were really tasty and flavorful, with a light garlicky flavor. Unfortunately, they weren’t hot, though that fact didn’t detract from the taste. The fish was delicious. The breading was crunchy and flavorful with spices mixed in, and the fish inside was soft and moist. The seaweed and egg soup was light and refreshing. There’s also soy sauce flavored boiled eggs available, which are really traditional and tasty. I actually got one alongside my 3 vegetable sides previously.

Good quality, cheap Chinese food with a wide selection, and in a great location to boot. I’ve never really ordered from the actual menu so I can’t really speak for that. But I always get the special here, on a near daily basis. You get to choose 3 sides, with rice, and a choice of either a soda or soup, for $ 7 dollars without a card, $ 6 if you buy the meal card with cash(11 meals for 66 dollars). The choice of sides ranges from americanized chinese food like chicken broccoli and general tso’s to actual chinese food like eggs and tomato, seawood soup, pork feet, etc. My personal favorite is the braised beef with daikon radish, carrots, and potatoes. All in all, probably the best value in town for good food in a good location. The only caveat is that it can get very crowded during peak hours, so finding a seat may take a few minutes. Don’t be afraid to ask to share a table with someone.

Okay I am a vegetarian so this review is based on that. The meats look great and the selection is huge… but that’s the problem because it is pretty much all meat. If you are a fiber-chewing sad creature like me, then this place has nothing to offer. Whatever you pick won’t have enough flavor and it will truly enhance the blandness of white rice. Yes, taste buds… meet rice. Also for $ 7? You can get more authentic and flavorful chinese food for less than that in town. But if you like yourself some sweet and sour chicken in 24 ways… this would probably be an awesome place…1/5 for a vegetarian that likes chinese food. 3⁄5 for its meaty potential. Average? Do the math.

Ordered delivery, came quickly, and it was delicious! Pretty standard Chinese takeout, all the typical menu items that you would want and the cost was reasonable. The dinner special for 7.25 was great!

This place is value town. Do not come here if you’re on a diet, the portions are epic. For $ 7 you get your calorie count for 3 days. They give you much better portions than Hunan Wok, which is near the ever awesome Kildare’s Irish Pub. But be warned, when you walk in and queue up its assumed you’re gonna go for the three dishes and a soup/soda. I am of chinese descent so the food to me is really delicious and authentic. The food is also less oily than Hunan’s. Service is basic but very fast. It can be scary if you don’t know what you want and there’s a long queue behind. Do not eat the general tso’s, its a soggy mess of flour and leathery chicken with a weird after-taste. The rest of the non-american chinese dishes are super awesome. Go between 1130 — 1430 because thats when the crowd comes in so you can be sure of an endless supply of fresh hot food. I’ve been in at around 1600 before and the food just looked like it was sitting there, all dried up and waiting for the rapture. My friends have ordered the delivery before and have told me the service sucks, so one might not wanna do delivery. Overall the food is so good, so huge and so reasonably priced, this place gets 5 stars and my money every single day.

I got good from this place before and it was okay, but then switched to another Chinese place. They were closed tonight though and I got the orange beef. It came in a bursting box, and kept it’s box like shape. Most of it was just fried breading, it had hardly any beef, and it looked just an horrible as it was.

I have been ordering food here for a few years and I have never been dissatisfied with the food. The location is great and is a busy/popular Chinese restaurant. Due to its popularity the place is almost always packed and I would not recommend eating at the restaurant. Also, the staff tries to be as quick as possible so they might not seem as friendly/sociable. Since the traffic is so great you can be guaranteed that the food is always fresh! If you go when its not packed you will see that the staff is very friendly. I mostly order delivery and get the same guy and find him to be great when I add instruction to my order.

Delicious Chinese lunch in the heart of downtown State College. Oh yeah, it is super fast and it’s easy on the wallet. For $ 6.50 including tax you get a 3 entrée lunch with white rice and choice of soup or a can of soda. Dang! You can order ahead(easy take out) or stop in and order off the hot line. In and out in under 2 minutes. I had the stir fried eggplant, tofu, and spicy chicken with egg drop soup. Eggplant was awesome. Japanese eggplant cut into large chunks and sautéed in a Thai chili-esque sauce. Yum! Tofu was okay, but a little soft. If you don’t like tofu, you will hate this. Chicken was good too. Crispy but not too spicy. Rice was cooked just right and soup was ok but a little bland. Overall a quick and easy lunch for a great price.

The restaurant is always busy, and the dish are always the same. The taste is not original Chinese though, I would call it American Chinese food. For what it’s worth, the owners are very nice and friendly and I can always find a seat somehow.

China Dragon sells authentic Chinese food!!! I was amazed when I saw the dishes I haven’t had ever since I came to this country, so now I’m ordering food from this place regularly. Another nice thing would be their meal card. You pay for 10 meals up front, and you’ll keep using that card until all 10 slots are filled. When all 10 are filled, you’ll receive your 11th meal for free.

Best Chinese lunch in town, hands down. Anyone who’s walked in the door here knows that it’s packed wall to wall with Chinese expats, which should tell you all you need to know about the quality. And the fact that you can get a delicious and utterly filling lunch for less than $ 7 puts it over the top. The food here is outrageously flavorful. My first purchase was the rice and Duck they had posted on the wall, and after waiting for them to finish cooking up a fresh batch, I took the box home and gave it a taste. Wow! The sauce had a rich and savory flavor that coated my mouth and made me want more. The duck meat was tender, and went perfectly with the steamed rice. On my second visit, I grabbed the Three-entre Plate with Spicy Chicken, Beef Stew, and Crispy Chicken. The Crispy Chicken was tasty, with a pleasing saltiness and crisp breading. The Beef Stew was outstanding, with a super flavorful broth and tender beef. The Spicy Chicken was not quite as impressive, but it wasn’t bad by any stretch. If you like Chinese food at all, do yourself a favor and stop in here for a quick lunch or some takeout!

The first couple times I went here(a few months ago), the food was rather good but the service was never really great. However, now is DEFINITELY not the case. I went in one afternoon and the woman at the counter served me a type of chicken I knew I wouldn’t like WITHOUTASKINGME. And the two other choices that I got(sesame chicken and chicken&broccoli) barely had any chicken in them. An afternoon after that I went out to lunch with my brother. When we walked in there were two girls waiting ahead of us while the counter-woman argued with an old man in Chinese. My brother and I heard her swear at him in English and walked out. And finally, a couple days ago my mother and little brother went here. My mom told me she ordered sesame chicken for my brother but was given spicy chicken instead. In short, this place was good when it opened but now it’s not even sub-par.

Oh China Dragon. This place is pretty grimy, but oddly enough, it’s one of the best Chinese food spots in State College. Mind you, that actually doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. Big thing with this spot is that they sell a prepaid 11-meal card for $ 63. That means you’ll have meals for $ 5.70 each after-tax, as opposed to $ 6.30. So this place is actually pretty small. You walk in and BAM, your glasses will instantly fog up because this place is so musky. A good sign is that it’s FILLED with Chinese people. Good luck trying to find some English speakers, cause its full blown Chinese speaking here. As far as their food goes, they do have the regular rice w/3 items, and soup combo. Soup selections are like hot & sour, and egg drop soup. The one good thing is that they have like 15 different items to choose from, ranging from General’s chicken, to eggplant, to fish, etc. One of the crappy things is that there is a ton of MSG in everything. I swear to god that I need to drink a gallon of water after every meal, and I also feel kind of queazy. Nonetheless, you have suckered me for a pre-paid meal card, so I have to come back to you for now.
