We came here for a few drinks and a light bite to eat. The service was fantastic and our sangria was perfectly made. We ordered the wings and they were delicious. The best part was the service, very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Would give 5-stars for just the food. I’ve been here a dozen times and everything I’ve tried has been fantastic. The part that kills me is the service is horrible. If you order takeout they will keep you waiting long enough to have sat there and had the meal. Really slow, often rude. Anytime I’ve complained I was completely dismissed. Calling in to order is tough enough as no one answering the phone speaks decent English.

Great service from the time I walked in. Very professional with a fun ambience. I had the chicken mole and it was excellent. Two large chicken breasts and great value. Bartender was attentive and did a great job of making people feel comfortable while at the same time taking the care of business.

Good food. Loved the black bean soup. But was disappointed when my food came out 10 minutes before my boyfriend’s. Unnecessary mistake.

This place is awesome. I am in Stamford for work but I live in Houston. The food here reminds me of home. Enchiladas de mole is top notch would highly recommend. The food is delicious and very authentic.

I regretfully tried this place out on a Saturday night when every other restaurant on Summer Street was packed. I should have known from the second I walked into this place when we were awkwardly seated in the middle of what appeared to be a dance floor. Maybe this place makes a better lounge than restaurant. We ordered the ceviche and tortilla soup to start. The ceviche was lacking cilantro and enough lime juice to make it worth while. Pretty sure we were munching of some prepackaged frozen shrimp, Chinese food quality. The tortilla soup was bland and served barely above room temperature. Horrible. Our entrees did come out pretty fast. I ordered the skirt steak and she ordered the chicken quesadilla. The skirt steak was good nothing special, hence the one star. The second star is for the fairly nice guy trying to earn a decent living in this place. Speedy service… All in all, I was expecting authentic Mexican cuisine and ended up with fast food style and poor quality Mexican crap. This is my first poor review and I do so regretfully but report to you honestly to try and uphold the integrity of the restaurants that are in Stamford. I won’t be back for food, nor would I recommend it. I might check out the live band that plays there but until then… Get a decent kitchen organized and start serving some food worth eating!

It is hard to give this place a fair rating. I went to this restaurant for the first time last night. Upon walking in there was no one to seat us, we kind of just stood around until someone finally approached us. After being seated we gave our food and drink order at one time. The drinks(sangria) were good. After waiting what seemed like forever(25 minutes) even though there was only 4 tables seated at the time, the food came. My order was wrong– I asked for chicken and was served beef, kind of a major difference. In addition they give you about a teaspoon of sour cream– wouldn’t be enough for the meal. So after I asked for chicken and finally received it, I asked for some extra sour cream. They charged $ 2.00 for it, which is absurd to begin with… But especially after getting my order wrong– you think they could have done something. The food was nothing spectacular but it wasn’t bad– very average Mexican Food. My last issue with this place is the service. Once being seated and had our food and drinks order placed, no one came back the whole time to see if we wanted anymore drinks or chips– they lost out on money here. It was also very difficult to communicate with the staff seeing as they speak Spanish and I do not. When I was trying to explain what was wrong with my food(beef instead of chicken) no one could understand me. It was very frustrating. I probably would never go back.

Nice Mexican place in Stamford. Great sangria and guacamole, not super classy but who cares.

I am very torn in how to star this review. Though the food and drinks are usually quite delicious and very enjoyable, I have had terrible service on 75% of my visits. While I appreciate their attempt to create an authentic Mexican restaurant, it is a bit frustrating when they will only speak to you in Spanish and refuse to work with you and are verge on rude when you speak English. Even when I have made the attempt to accustom myself to the culture and try out their language, I admit poorly, I am still treated as if I am inconveniencing them. In my first few visits this was never an issue, but the language restrictions seem to have been implemented over the past few months. My BIGGEST issue however is the false advertising of pricing on their menus. The dinner menus they issue list a price that is anywhere from $ 1 to $ 4 lower than the price that shows up on the bill. I tried to question this, but they would not listen or work with me, as unfortunately I do not speak Spanish. The waiter just continually gestured that he could not understand what I was saying. Both times I decided to leave, as the extra few dollars was not worth causing the server or myself any more frustration. If they can work on the customer service aspect of their business they would truly have a great, downtown Mexican restaurant!

We were asked to move from the table for someone else when we were still finishing our drinks. The server never came and asked if we needed anything else so we needed to go to bar and get our tab. Not recommended. Will never go back.

Came here with my fiancé and some friends. It was very quick to sit even though it was busy and the food was pretty good. It ends there. We all ordered fajitas. Veggie for me and fiancé and the friends got one with shrimp. 5 tortillas for 4 people. Awesome. Had to pay extra for more. I guess the chicken fajitas come with rice and beans but the veggie ones don’t. So rice and beans cost extra but the chicken fajitas it’s included. Won’t be returning, which sucks because the food was ok. Also over priced.

This place is wayyy overpriced for the amount of food you get and the quality of service. I went with some friends around 3PM in the afternoon. We walked up to sit outside and had to ask 3 separate people for a table because the first two didn’t speak English. I’m all about an authentic Mexican experience but I find it ridiculous that no one knew enough English to at least seat us. Once seated we got some chips and salsa for the table and when we asked for more salsa, it never ever came. My friend also ordered a second margarita which never came either(luckily we weren’t charged). It just seemed like the employees did not want to be there or even care about the customer. For food, we split a plate of nachos, queso fundido and a vegetarian quesadilla. The nachos tasted good but there were literally only 10 chips on the plate with some refried beans sloped on the top! The quesadilla barely had any cheese in it, was barely grilled and they also put in more vegetables than what was listed on the menu. I hate mushrooms and would have asked for no mushrooms had the menu said there were included. Luckily, none of us had any allergies. The best part was the queso fundito which was very tasty. Another redeeming quality was the margarita, which was really good. I got a frozen mango which was strong but still tasty. My friend LOVED her frozen coconut marg. Maybe it was just an off day but I probably will not be coming back here.

Nothing feels better than racial profiling! Came here with a friend of mine about an hour ago and they refused to let us in because were not Spanish. We were told that they were closing but then watched the bouncer let in about 10 people that he claimed that they all worked there… never felt so unwelcome in any business in all of Stamford

Second time here and more impressed than the first time. The guacamole was freshly prepared table side and perfectly seasoned, the margarita sucia is absolutely out of this world! I had three and they were consistently perfectly mixed and tasty. I had the seafood fajitas and they were seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. Very tasty and a very generous amount. my husband had the red snapper fish tacos and again these were perfectly seasoned and generously portioned! Great latin background Music, Ambiance and excellent friendly and attentive service, looking forward to a third visit.

Their salsa that they give you while you wait for other foods is so good. I love cilantro and it had plenty of it. The serving of carnita fajitas were enough to feed two or three people and their margaritas were the best ever. Their service could use some training towards being more attentive is all uhh would really ask for.

Seriously. Why doesn’t this place have more stars? The food and drinks are fantastic. I haven’t written a Unilocal review in years but after seeing the crappy ones I felt I had to voice an opinion! I’ve only sat at the bar both times I’ve been here but everything has been so yummy. I highly recommend over Lola’s down the street. The carnitas in the fajitas are perfection! They also have a happy hour at the bar.
