Hey Hey Heyyyy Everyone First off, I love to eat. I live to eat and eat to live. Here is the deal with this location. Its on a strip with 23 other restaurants so expect it to be slightly busy on certain nights. I’m speaking from a bar area perspective because waiter service will be different. As far as food dishes you order that are super tasty, Mazatran is first on my list. I have eaten over 53 plates of this order and this is why I give it a 5 out of 5. It Normally comes medium rare but if you ask for the steak to be cut in to a comb effect it will be perfect I love the dinner dinner entrees and the Steak Nacho with Cheese. that is a 5 The Yuca, Shrimp and Steak I give a 4(Its only so much you can take eating Yuca) Try the place out. I’m a regular

I come to Mary Ann’s for dinner sometimes. I like coming here for dinner because the food is decent and the margarita’s are HUGE. Better deal for your money. It’s never crowded in here, so if you like a more quiet scene for dinner, this is your place. The bartender I see is always very nice and pays attention to his customers.

The guacamole was good after we added more lime juice. But, honestly it stopped there. The salsa was bland, boring, watery tomato juice with some chopped vegetables thrown in. I had hope for the skirt steak fajitas, but sadly they weren’t any better. Nor were the rice and beans. The corn tortillas were blah. The Pacifico made a bit of difference — it covered the blah of the rest. I should have known better based on the menu in the window and the Zagat guide quote that said something about the chips being the highlight of the meal… I think that the place might be a good bar, it wasn’t enjoyable for me as a restaurant though. The kitchen staff seemed to be enjoying the music blasting in the back though.

An acquaintance recommended Mary Ann’s for good margaritas and a fun night out. My sister and I paid it a visit, and we really had a poor experience. The service was lousy, the iPod that was playing over the speakers was blasting so loud that we couldn’t hear each other from across the tables, and the margaritas really were only so-so. I won’t be returning.

Coming from a person who’s favorite food is mexican. this is my favorite place. to me a good mexican place has to have great chips and salsa, and they do. Followed by great atmosphere, and good service. Their margeritas are awesome as well as the tableside guacamole!!! Love their live music. And prices are affordable. Mary anns is tough to beat !!

Very good food, not sure while all the subpar reviews. Went on a Saturday night and got a burrito, it was very good. Best Mexican food I’ve had in Stamford.

Me gusta comida mexicana. Pero Mary Ann’s es no bueno… aaaand thats about all the spanish i know. Mary Ann’s was less than stellar… besides the fact that no one was there, it took 5 minutes to bring water, another 5 to come back to take the order, and then 20 minutes to make 2 quesadillas!!! WTF??? Service was terrible… where the hell did the waitress go? Does anyone work here? I ordered possibly the simplest dish in all mexican cuisine… pan fried tortilla with cheese and veggies… how did it take 15 minutes to cook it? And why did it cost $ 9? And why were there artichokes in mushroom and spinach quesadilla? I’m a big fan of Mexican, and I can even put up with some slow service for awesome Mexican food… but this wasn’t worth it. Food overall was meh, okay… the black beans were very good, my friends refried beans were terrible. The service, price, and quantity of food(Mexican joints notoriously over serve… Mary Ann’s does not) = fail. 1 star… I won’t be coming back… if I ever find myself in Stamford again.

Salsa tastes like marinara sauce, service is bad, my quesadilla came with mushrooms(not supposed to), and my bf’s fajitas came with broccoli, lol. Not an authentic experience.

Not the greatest mexican restaurant. The food is ok. The salsa has a spice in it that isn’t good, and the music is very loud. The margaritas are too sweet — but they have a Jalapeño Margarita that is great!

The food was delicious, as were the margaritas! However, the service was very slow and spotty at best. If you’ve got a lot of time on your hands, I recommend it!

Went here last night for dinner with friends. When you order guacamole a server comes to your table to make it. This is a nice concept but in this case, the table that the server wheeled over with the fixings was a mess! Food all over the cloth and the server(not our waitress) made an ever bigger mess as she prepared our guac with her hands! Soo gross! She then shared with us how she did not feel well and had not slept in two days — thanks for sharing! Our waitress then delivered the entrees which were decent(as were the margaritas) but this place really needs to clean up its act(and some of the staff)

Worst dining experience I have had in Stamford. Salsa came out nearly frozen and tasted like tomato paste. Margaritas were good, but the waitress never offered a refill(their loss, I suppose). I ordered one of the combo plates and it was so covered in cheese, I could hardly tell their was anything else. The center of everything was cold and cheese not melted. When the waitress finally came with the check, we gave ½ in cash and asked the rest to be put on the card. She came back and put the entire amount on the card(and kept the cash). When we brought this up, she made it into a big deal. Instead of just returning the cash and thanking us for our business, she made us wait nearly 30 minutes while she«worked it out». Might be worth going to the bar for a decent margarita, but service and food is less than acceptable.

Ehhhh nice guacamole and salsa, but I can’t say much for the mole chicken, which was like eating dessert for an entrée, too much sugar, too little other interesting factors. That said, they do a nice spicy margarita. Agree with the service, it’s sluggish, even on a slow night, kind of an inattentive feeling going on.

The food was great, I ordered the rustica and my companion ordered a steak burrito. The food was fantastic, the Mary Ann’s margarita was great, this would have gotten 4 stars if the help was a little quicker to respond. By the end of the meal, we were planning on ordering another margarita, but we waited so long trying to get our waiter’s attention that we just gave up. I’ll go back, the food was great but I hope the staff learns to be more attentive.

I like these kinds of places. The bar is where you’ll find me. Weds-Sat, Sandy is working the bar, he’s a lot of fun and is an awesome guy. Since my last trip to Mexico, it’s been hard for me to find a bar where the cooler is full of Dos Equis, Pacifico, Negro Modelo, Sol, etc. All good beer, oh yeah, aaaaand they have Dos Equis on tap! Now, that’s something that you don’t find very often in CT… in TX, yes, in CT, no. I will admit that I’ve drank there more than I’ve ate, but the food that I’ve eaten has been good. The mole chicken is great. I do judge Mexican restaurants solely on that dish since it is the national dish of Mexico. If you’re like me and like to sometimes avoid the crowds of the trendy bars, this is the place to go in Downtown Stamford. Seriously.

My friends and I walked in and asked if they had any happy hours and the host was either foreign or pms-ing. She was sighing while going to find out n came back extra slow. Not really a great way to bring in the customers. Anyways, the chips and salsa were good since it’s really hard to screw that one up. The enchilada was yummy n that’s about it. I just wouldn’t go back because of the horrible host service. Please do not sigh and look at your customers like you’re doing us the favor.

Nursing Home Mexican Food Ever optimistic, I’ve tried this place four or five times over the past two years and have been consistently disappointed by the food and the poor quality margaritas. How do they stay in business? After our last visit, we swore not to come again. The service is indifferent and the Mexican food is, at best, mediocre and very bland. Your grandmother might like the food here when you celebrate Cinco de Mayo away from the nursing home. But, you’re better off taking the party elsewhere.

I read a lot of good reviews on this restaurant via Google. I ordered the Summer Street salad — it was good. My friends had ordered a couple mexican dishes and they said it was good. Our bill came and we were shocked at the total amount — it was mainly because of our alcohol drinks which were at best, okay. I think for the amount we paid, we could have went to La Salsa, Olé Mole or Sierra Grill and gotten a better meal. Not at all worth what we paid!

I did not enjoy Mary Ann’s, it was recommended to me by a friend who went to the nyc location. I ordered fish tacos and when they arrived I could smell the stench of fish when the plate wasn’t even close to my nose. It was awful and I truly believe the fish was bad I had to send the plate back. My friend ordered salmon and while she was able to eat it, it was very fishy as well. The margaritas were watered down and the service was not great. Stamford needs a tasty and fresh mexican restaurant!

I’m not a big fan of Mexican but this place was decent. Their guacamole was yum yum and you got endless chips with it and endless salsa. Although again, not a huge fan of salsa so idk how that was. Either way, it was an experience… their margaritas I will say are delicious! I’m not itching to go back but its a low key Mexican if anyone ever needs one of those!
