Love this place. I actually prefer it over any Peruvian place in stamford and yes that includes Fiesta. The lomo saltado is always on point and the ceviche is really good. I always enjoy my visits here def recommended.

I like the food but the service is not always great. If you’re looking for a good Peruvian restaurant, then you might like this. There is also a special menu from 12 – 3 I believe.

Cute, super authentic food, place is above a cheap hotel… looks scary, but it makes up in authenticity and food quality for a pretty cheap price for what it lacks in location.

Ordered take out from here and really enjoyed it. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of food. We had the Leche de Tigre to start and the Lomo Saltado, Tallarines Verdes, and Tallarines Saltado… all great Peruvian food. Can’t wait to try again!

We ordered in today because it’s cold and I wanted to have some chicken soup that tasted home-made. Unfortunately, the soup was too salty. I couldn’t eat it. The flavor would have been good had it not had so much salt so I will try to figure out a way to fix it tomorrow but it’s too late to try to fix it now. It’s good that we ordered a Lomo Saltado and even though this tasted good it was not the best Lomo Saltado we have had and even though the portion was a good size it consisted mostly of a lot of rice and very little meat. The one good thing is that they delivered right on time so I may give them another try. Maybe tonight was not a good night for them.

El rocoto in stamford really is a hidden gem. I love peruvian cuisine and they do an exceptional job. I’ve gone back in a few times for a quick bite to eat and ordered take out as well. They also have lunch specials too. Today I had the lunch special chicken soup because it was the perfect day and the flavors are tremendous! I’ve also had the lomo with beef and the portions are great and can’t beat the prices. My wife tried the choros a la chalaca which was mussels topped with some diced tomatoes and onions and it was really delicious. Flavors are bold, bright and the dishes are put together really well. This is the place if you like peruvian food. Ask for the green saice on the side of anything, its awesome!

Searching for good authentic peruvian cuisine can be a difficult task in lower Fairfield County, but El Rocoto over delivered with every dish I tasted. Place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but this hidden gem served up some of the best«Pollo a la Brasa» I’ve ever tasted. Roasted perfectly on their kitchen rotisserie and rubbed with authentic spices, the chicken was juicy and flavorful. Make sure you ask for the special green sauce and the«rocoto» sauce, both are excellent on just about anything they serve here. Great portions and low prices make this place perfect for take-out, lunch or dinner! Great wine selections from the southern hemisphere and cocktails too! Check it out!

Some of the best food I have ever had! Huge portions and low prices. The food is extremely fresh and the pisco sour is outstanding. At first glance you might drive by this outstanding restaurant but if you give it a try you will certainly be glad that you did.

Best Peruvian food outside of Lima! It is in a non-depict place over a sketchy motel off of I-95, but the portions are huge, the prices are low and the food is great!!! The atmosphere leaves much to be desired, but they are slowly sprucing it up. Nevertheless, it is truly authentic to the point that the best places in Lima require a double-take before going in. There is an amazing lunch special during the week that includes soup. The Lomo Saltado is to die for, as is the Seco de Carne. Don’t miss this diamond in the rough.
