Best Western Aquia/Quantico Inn

We booked a room 6 weeks ago with a king size bed for 9 nights in our reservation. We arrived at 4:00 pm, two hours after our earliest check-​in available time, and our room wasn’t available… They offered us a queen size bed room instead but didn’t offer to redeem themselves by doing their job in a timely manner and clean the room we reserved. We got into our room and the AC was leaking water all over the floor; however, the manager insisted the AC was working properly. We got a full refund and moved our business elsewhere.

The good:

The bad:
I really have no complaints.

Arrived late after driving for 14 hours. Non-​smoking room smelled like smoke, but too tired to go back and ask for another room.
Room felt aged but beds were comfortable and clean.

I really want to give this place three and a half stars. That is, I am generally pleased with my stay there.
I stayed at this Best Western for three weeks back in 2007 while going through the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor course at Quantico (the barracks were full, and I was attending from out of town). If you stay there you can tell everything is at least a little bit run down. It’s not super dirty or super run down, just generally aged. The bed wasn’t really uncomfortable, but then I was pretty much wiped out at the end of each day. Every day they left a bag of popcorn and bottled water in my room, which I consumed every day. Their laundry service was good, including the fact that they were willing to clean my utilities that were covered in mace on certain days. The service wasn’t bad. On one or two occasions the room service knocked on my door and I said «Don’t come in,» because I was in some state of undress, and they still came in. Of course they turned around right away, but I kind of suspected they heard but came in anyway.
My overall experience here wasn’t bad. Again, three and a half stars would be okay.
