Food is bland. We will never come back. Queso, salsa, and chips do not taste good. More like out of a jar and bag. Why is everything in flour tortillas??? Inspired… nope…more like Taco Carlos Bell.

We went for the $ 1.02 margaritas & the $.02 queso. The food was good. The service was very good. The value of both was more than reasonable. We stayed & ordered an entrée to split. But, the place needs to be cleaned within an inch of its life. There are condos being built in the same area. This is a golden opportunity for CO’s to shine. Now is the time to close sections at a time and update. Replace the carpet. Break out the de-greaser. Owner! Are you listening? There’s another Mexican restaurant on the other side of the development. They’re clean, the food is good… I won’t be going back to CO’s until it’s cleaned up.

Good food and great service. My family really enjoys coming here. The servers are always helpful and go out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Took my family of five to eat here for lunch today. This was by far the WORST meal I’ve had in a long, long time. The waitress did not listen well — she got three things wrong on my order alone. I told her I wanted a blended margarita — she brought it on the rocks. After I ordered mine, my daughter said she’ll have one too — the assumption was blended like I had just ordered but the waitress didn’t ask her blended or on the rocks and brought on the rocks. My daughter accepted hers but I sent mine back, as I had specifically asked for blended. She should ask customers this question when they order. She did ask me salt or no salt and I said no salt — yep she brought it with salt. I let that go. On to the food ordering — the menu has changed since I was last there several years ago. Very limited and weird selections — I wanted carne asada tacos and they don’t carry that item any more! I ordered the Lolo’s Chicken Tacos and asked for traditional Mexican rice as one of my sides — waitress brought me cilantro rice. I let it go, but was disappointed the waitress got THREE things wrong on my order. Only one of the five of us actually liked the taste of the food we ended up with. The salsa was good but the chips were so thin, they kept breaking off when dipping in the salsa. The margaritas had no flavor — total waste of $ 12 for the two. I will never, ever go back there — it’s no wonder the other locations have closed down. I much prefer El Gran Charro, and I wish we had gone there instead.

I like the food and the restaurant. Service was good. I would go back. I had the brisket tacos. They pan fry the cheese before it goes on your taco. It was good.

Don’t eat here! So gross. I got a chimichanga-fried! How do you mess up fried food? The server messed up my sides and drink orders. And my meal was supposed to come with a bunch of topping yet it had none. The margaritas were really expensive and you couldn’t even taste any kind of liquor in it. And to top it off, the manager looked like he was hating his life and he kept stopping by the bar to take a swig of «red Bull.» Yea we were on to you. Will never return.

This is TexMex(Mexican-American) style food. If you come here, read«Carlos O’Kelly’s» then expect authentic Mexican, later reviewing this place poorly because it wasn’t what you expected, you might be on the slow side… The service is fantastic. We live right beside this restaurant and visit frequently for the enchiladas and samplers. On regular nights, there’s always a seat available, polite waitresses, and freshly made food. Seriously, the salsa is super fresh and chunky! If you love TexMex, this is your place!

I admit I like my Mexican food«Americanized»(I don’t like peas in my rice, for example) So I love this place. I always overeat, sadly! I love the atmosphere, service, chips, the whole enchilada! Maybe work on the desserts. I am over fried ice cream and I don’t like the cheesecake offerings.

Modern menu. They have cool food combos such as brisket tacos. The cilantro lime rice is really good. Drinks come out fast. The interior of the building needs an upgrade. It’s very old looking inside. They do have a lot of TV to watch your favorite sports teams play. Seats are always available.

The service was great, the food was cheap and delicious. Our server, Priscilla, was extremely attentive. Also very close to MCB Quantico.

Amazing staff, atmosphere and food :) great drink specials! Try the chicken picado or the enchilada de poblano. They have awesome happy hour specials as well. Tracy Powers is the General Manager and is very nice!

Good, cheap, great service. Salsa fresh and delicious. Most entrees $ 10 ish. Grilled fish tacos very good. Surprised to see bad reviews — it’s not fancy but does the trick. Right off the highway so very convenient for travelers. Kid friendly, has books and balloons for kids.

Love their food. Their nacho cheese is off the chain! Their drinks are reasonably priced, and you can get Pepsi products. Nice to be able to order a Mountain Dew! I just wish their Fairfax location stayed open.

The only reason I ever eat here is when I want to eat with my office mates(in Stafford and Fredericksburg). This is typical american food wrapped in a tortilla. All the dished here are wrapped in a tortilla, there is no option to get something that isnt, except a salad that is served with a deep fried«tortilla bowl». No huevos rancheros or chilie relleños or anything of the sort. Its boring and not worth wasting your life or money on this place. I am sure if you want really shitty fake ameri-mexican food you could find a small restaurant locally owned one to give your money to.

Food is delicious. Staff is very friendly. The selection is good, too. The heat on their spicy food is just right, hot but not so hot you can’t enjoy. Wish they sold horchata. Salsa is very good. Food came out very fast. Restroom is kinda awkward in the mens room. The height of things such as the sink and the paper towel dispencer just didn’t seem right. Atmosphere was ok. Family friendly

The rule of thumb I believe is that if you’re going to go for authentic and delicious ethnic food, you don’t go to chain restaurants period. This stands true to Carlos O’ Kelly’s. The food is «Mexican Cuisine» but it’s really Americanized food written off as Mexican so that it’ll appeal more to us in the same way Chinese food here isn’t really Chinese(General Tso’s Chicken for example was made in the U.S., real Chinese food is hardly ever deep-fried, etc.). Back to O’Kelly’s, I’ve been here numerous times with friends as they like it which I don’t understand. I’ve ordered different things to give the place a chance, but unfortunately all the food I’ve gotten isn’t cooked evenly or properly. Not to mention, the ingredients used for their food all must be frozen or cooked the day before because the food doesn’t really feel that fresh. Carlos O’Kelly’s is a very basic run-of-the-mill restaurant. They have food. They also have alcohol. However there’s no wow factor or even delicious food. It’s really kind of a rip-off and an insult to real Mexican food.

I like to try local places when we travel. My family is usually so-so about this and it can be frustrating for me because I want them to WANT to enjoy local fare as much as I do. While traveling, it’s hard to find local places along the highways without venturing too far off the path. This was across from our gas station stop. I thought it was a compromise to hit it vs. driving a bit down the road and picking a place I found on Unilocal that seemed to have a higher Unilocal rating. Ugh. This did not help my cause for trying local fare. In fact, it ruined it. We had a great waitress, although my kids found her annoying since she was TOO nice but the food was so terrible. It tasted horrible, it was definitely slow coming out. If you are traveling through, AVOIDEATINGHEREANDPICKTHEOTHERPLACEDOWNTHEROAD. Or even a fast food place. It’s cheaper and you’ll know what you’re getting. This food might upset your stomach. Literally.

The overall atmosphere is fun, colorful, and clean. The staff is well-groomed and professional. I really can’t give any specific complaints but at the same time nothing really stood-out. The salsa was delicious, lots of spice and flavor, the entrée would have been flavorless without dumping it on top. :P The margarite cheesecake is served in a margarita glass which is made from their own house margariata mix. It was way too rich but it was delicious. 3 or 4 bites and you’re happy you tried it but won’t want to have much more. I think I’d go back for happy-hour… but only for drinks and chips and salsa. OH… and stay away from the mojito… I don’t even know what that was.
