Food is hot, only place I have received hot and ready for order; However the drive thru line is long and wait time is even longer. I usually come for their fries, fried mushrooms and sweet tea but 20+minutes for that… well that’s why 3 stars. Decent people.

Desperate for a grease fix– I hit the drive through with low expectations. Surprise, surprise: my gyro and fries were pretty damn good.

Sit down restaurant quality with fast food convenience. The Salem’s Gyros at this location is always clean and service is prompt in light of the business of this restaurant. You can sit and plug in your electronic device while eating the best French fries at any fast food place in Pinellas County. Big, crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. The owners of this restaurant do not skimp on the quality of their product. Unlike their competitors, success has never caused them to reduce quality for quantity. We have been patronizing this place since they opened. They have a multitude of soda choices self– serve(as many as Wendy’s) as well as fresh brewed iced tea. I love that they put a dollop of whipped cream on their milkshakes. The Po’ Boy(shrimp) sandwiches are delicious and these are rare to find elsewhere, especially from a fast food location. Much more interesting food here than at the nearby hamburger joints. The sub roll on the Philly Cheese steaks has good flavor, too, and bread is not just cardboard to hold the meat, here. Their regular gyros are packed with meat and the sour cream based sauce is very good. Value is reasonable. Better than average cheese cake, too

Was pleasantly surprised from salem’s. I expected average fast food but it was way beyond that. I ordered the chicken gyro with black beans and rice. The chicken gyro was great and the beans were delish!

Salem’s is open late and has a pretty big menu! I got a spicy gyro and, though good, I wasn’t really feeling the spicy part. They added Sriracha to the tziaziki and then some peppers. I would probably skip the Sriracha next time; it was just too saucy. I got a side of yellow rice and black beans which was so huge, it was my dinner the next evening. I’ll definitely be back to try more stuff! Oh — their regular sized fountain drink is pretty small by usual standards! So I would get a large next time.

I tried this place out last night since I was craving a gyro. Ended up getting a couple sandwiches. Called in my order for carry out. Fast and simple. My food was ready once I got there about 10 mintues later. They have a large menu and the prices seem reasonable. It was pretty busy when I got there but the staff seemed organized and kept the orders rolling. I noticed they have chicken gizzards. Ive never tried them but will try them out the next time. Probably wouldnt go there for a sit down but great for carry out.

Wings were not Chicago but they were okay. The rice is from the box and and was cold. Drove 45-minutes from Clearwater and was disappointed expected more. Also not whole wings they are wing pieces.

Best place EVER! Happened by the drive — thru and their Gyros and Greek salads were best ever. I literally took pictures for my daughter and even brought her home a menu. Black beans & rice or salad may be substituted for fries at no extra charge. Fresh chopped onion on request…& if ya don’t like yellow rice, they’ll double up on the black beans. The original gyro(or you can get fish or chicken or shrimp) is so good, I can’t believe how much is piled on… I loooovvveedd it… so tender & plentiful that I could sneak in fridge, grab a handful of meat, heat it up & munch for snack & ya couldn’t even tell on the sandwich! Milkshakes so good! Philly steak & cheese piled on, Cuban was good as well! Did I mention how immaculate this place is? Oh yea… it is also open til 4:00 a.m. What a find!!!

Love the wings!!! Fried oysters are great!!! Shrimp is tasty! Steak and Cheese is good. Let me say that I have never ordered something from here that I disliked. There wing sauce is my twisted addiction I could eat it plain lol! Its great for late night or if you wanna feed a large group but do not feel like cooking. It has drive thru and you will wait but that is because your food is made to order I would rather wait then go to McDonald’s and complain about my «fast» meal. You can eat there also but I normally order to go. Its afforable, Yummy, and convenient…

This has to be one of the few fast food restaurants I will eat at. They have great food even though a lot of it is fried. It’s cheap, the wings are great and they have grape soda! I highly recommend this place!

So first thing I thought when I came here was that it reminded me of a Miami Subs. Heck, it even looked like one from the outside. But there menu is much more creative. I ordered the fried shrimp and was able to substitute the fries with yellow rice and black beans. I also got an order of fried mushrooms and a gyro. The food was delicious. The fried shrimp was fresh and crispy and for 9.99 for a half pound shrimp meal, that’s not too bad. The fried mushrooms were good too, my only complaint was that there was not too much in the order. The gyro I couldn’t eat fresh due to being full but even reheated I could tell it was good quality, and there was plenty of meat in the sandwich. This place is busy and the drive though took some time to get the food, but I didn’t mind because I know they cook to order. Overall a great fast food joint!

Took the guy who verbally accosted me, aka the manager of this location nearly 8 months to make any kind of contact, and not here but on facebook. He didn’t identify himself in the post either, but his face is not something I will ever forget. Salem’s, your lack of customer service is now once again fresh in my mind. If I could give negative stars or none I would.

Its fast food. Ambiance is a fast food restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. Most choices are fried. If you like fried food and seafood quickly then its a good choice.

Came here for the first time over the wknd for a quick bite. I ordered the fried shrimp fries with the Cajun curly fries. My boyfriend order the hot wings with rice and beans and a shake. He loved his meal of course. The wings were over cooked in my opinion, tasted a bit crunch and hard lol. I enjoy my shrimp it was really good. This place reminded me of Miami Subs, similar menu except the food here tasted a little bitter. This place is very casual, has a drive threw. So it’s just a good place to stop by for a quick bite to eat.

I swear that I have written a review for this place before. I do not come here unless I am tired of checkers and I am looking forward to a good meal. I came here expecting excellent service, and that is what I got. $ 10.69, got me five wings, a gyro, and a small drink. This is probably the second most busiest location on 34th street in St. Pete., the first is located in the 1700 block of34th street south. The need for, I wouldn’t say heLthy, but real food compared to checkers or some other place such as McDonalds. I recommend it only if you like to try some food that is not your typical fast food and you are in the mood to wait for the real food to come out. None of that processed meat that you may be used to at those other joints. Make sure you know that you will spend an average of 6 – 10 depending on what it is that you order.

The best«off beat» fast food joint around. When you want something other than burgers chicken or tacos, this is a good option. I have been by many other Salem franchises, but this one is the cleanest. The gyro is awesome. Both the chicken and lamb are great. Go on Tuesdays and get two for one!

Recently I wrote a review for the Salem’s on East Hillsborough Avenue. They got 4 stars, and probably deserved 5. I passed by another Salem’s yesterday, on 34th street here in St. Petersburg. I thought to myself«there’s NOWAY this one is as good as the E. Hillsborough Ave location.» I made a u-turn and went in… Wrong Again! This location is just as good as the other. They get an extra star just for the consistency of the company. Once again, I ordered a ½ lb. fried shrimp platter, and asked for rice and beans instead of french fries. This time the combo with drink cost exactly $ 9.62(same as the other store) and no charge for the substitution. The food was truly great! This meal, in a traditional restaurant with full service would have been about $ 15 to $ 18 for the entrée, and you would have paid a buck or two for the drink, then tax and a tip. So overall, the comparative price would have been about $ 24. I hope they don’t read this review and change their prices! The service here was efficient and friendly, and I left happy.

Salem’s is the cooler, lesser known, but actually still alive brother of Miami Subs. By that, I mean its basically a fast food sub place with a crazy menu and everything is delicious and you can get mounds of food for dirt cheap. At first you arrive thinking maybe I want a gyro — but then you see they have cheese steaks, fried seafood, wings, subs and– really, chicken gizzards? Ok, so maybe I won’t try EVERYTHING on the menu, but I have tried a lot. Their Gyros are delicious, packed to the brim, but yet easily eatable(Salem’s better than Little Greek). Granted you don’t get the same quality as you would at a Greek restaurant or Tarpon Springs, but again, you’re getting fast food. The cheese steaks are also surprisingly good. Not better than Philly Phlava, but good enough. I actually did try the calamari. Yes, it is frozen, but for $ 4 it had decent flavor. My friends have devoured the shrimp skewers before, though its one thing I still need to try. I highly recommend getting a combo as if you’re feeling crazy you can get a combo that has a gyro and wings. Seriously, the side is wings, how can you beat that. Also fork over for a shake. I’m partial to the piña colada, but I’m sure they’re all great.
