Excellent! Perfect midnight sandwich(Cuban on a sweeter bread), empanadas, plantain chips and coco Rico. The place is clean and the staff are excellent. If we lived nearby we would eat here all the time.

After reading all the glowing reviews, I was excited to try this place. I ordered the Medianoche, and was thoroughly disappointed. This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and value. The Medianoche was probably the worst I’ve ever had. The ingredients were not fresh(the ham was dry and hard on the ends, like it was old & not stored properly). It was missing the roasted pork(usually Mojo Pork) all together, which made it just a ham and Swiss on sweet egg dough bread. It was disappointing to say the least. The service wasn’t bad, but not very friendly either. This restaurant is a «hole-in-the-wall» located in an old building. The dining area was clean and the atmosphere was casual. The sandwich was $ 7 plus tip, and afterwards, I felt disappointed and hungry. Therefore, the value for my experience was low. I was expecting to be blown away, but in my opinion, this place was below average compared to other cuban restaurants in the Bay Area.

A small hole in the wall — but a great sandwich shop, with awesome authentic cuban food. I stopped by to pick up a small catering order for one of my classes– and every one enjoyed the food I brought in for breakfast. I ordered guava and cheese pastalitos, café con leche, croquettes, and tried the coconut pastalito– which I had never had before but will be having again. Be warned– It is cash only, but don’t let that deter you from trying it out.(Many of my friends would argue that should encourage you). Great customer service. I plan to go back and try it out for lunch. They have all the traditional cuban sandwiches– but also some choices like egg only which should work for my vegetarian diet.

On a recent trip I discovered this place. Great Cuban espresso. I stopped there for breakfast two days in a row. Great service. Great food. The media noche was just like I remembered as a kid in PR. The egg and ham sand which was also very tasty. I can’t wait to return to town just so I can eat there.

It is so hard to find good Cuban food outside of Tampa. I stumbled upon this place by chance, but it’s an incredible find! The food is fresh, and deliciously authentic. The owners are super nice and conversational. Stopped by for a typical breakfast: tostada, croquetas de jamon, and café con leche. My only complaint is that they did not have pastelitos de guayaba… but I was just being greedy! Everything was delicious! I highly recommend M&G!

I’m very happy I stopped by this little café. I was missing the typical Cuban breakfast so I headed over for a tostada and café con leche. Definitely hit the spot! The Cuban toast was perfectly toasted with butter and not dry at all like some places. I also got two croquetas, delicious. And the owners are just sweethearts, great customer service. I’ll definitely be back again to try other menu items.

My son and I stumbled on to this place without reading any reviews. All I can say is awesome. The tamale(aka«tamal») was so good we drove back and got another one. The lechon was incredible and we loved the fresh squeezed sugar can juice«guarapo» was a nice touch. Will definitely go back the next time I’m near Tampa. It’s a humble little family joint with huge attention to quality. They even make their own bread and you tell. Outstanding.

Great Cuban sandwich this side of the bay! Only $ 5 plus tax for a big half Cuban, platanitos(plantain chips) and a coke, great deal. The sandwich had tasty roasted pork, the bread was light and crispy and the chips were freshly made. Will definitely be back!

I absolutely adore this little family owned establishment. There are some things you should know going in: CASHONLY, it can be a little warm inside if you eat there and they have a very weird parking situation. You can either park in spots around the back and walk to the front, or you can park to the right of the yellow line out front if you can find room(space is very limited and it feels a little uncomfortable without the normal lines). The staff inside are VERY friendly. I stopped in for the first time not realizing that they only accepted cash. I had a 20 dollar bill on me. I wanted to try a variety of things, but I didn’t know if I had enough money. The friendly gentleman behind the counter told me I would have enough. I was thinking that meant it came out to less than $ 20. My total was actually $ 21 and they took a dollar from their tip jar to put in the till. They are getting a BIG tip next time I stop in! For the record I ordered two Cubans(which were HUGE!), black beans and rice and an empanada. As for the food: AMAZING Cuban bread(only $ 1.25 a loaf too!). I tried it in the form of a cuban. The cuban was good. Not the best I have had, but quite tasty. The bread was definitely the stand out. I ordered a beef empanada for my Husband and I to split… AMAZING. Definitely one of the best that I have had. It was accentuated by the hot sauce packets they gave me to take home. We also tried the black beans with some rice. They were kind of bland, but she did inform me that they were different from normal because they weren’t done yet when I ordered them. They also had some tasty looking pastries, pork sandwiches and a variety of other items. I will definitely be stopping in again… with some more cash next time.
