Excellent lunch dining experience. Showed up with 7 people. Seated immediately. Drinks ordered and delivered quickly. Food ordered and delivered amazingly quick. The menu has an extensive selection. I had the Spring Roll, and Green Curry, Sautéed Vegetables, and Brown Rice. It was excellent, only thing I would say is I asked for hot curry dish and it was mild. I strongly suggest going for lunch or dinner if you like Thai food.

Highly recommend! My mom and I stopped by for lunch because we couldn’t find anywhere that sounded good(and had gf). I’m so glad we did! Our server was wonderful, I cannot remember his name. Started out with spring rolls, which were fresh and delish! We got the veggie pad thai and the chicken bung bo, both with medium spice. Holy crap were they spicy, but AMAZING! The flavor was so different in each of them, I would definitely order both again. Ended our lunch with Thai coffee, which is a nice treat for«dessert.»

My favorite Thai place was closed last night, so I tried Ruam Mit for takeout and was impressed! I had the best pad Thai I’ve had in a long time, and they got the spiciness level just right for me! The spring rolls were fresh and delicious. My favorite go to now has some competition! I can’t wait to try more!

A 4 star review may be a bit harsh. Times like this make me wish Unilocal had a 10 star system. The food was good and they put up with our children without so much as a sideways glance. My friend and I split out dishes, both of which were very tasty and distinct profiles. The beef on my pad see ewe was a little over cooked but the flavored over came any issue with that. I will say for anyone who comes across this that there spice level seems to be a notch higher than the other Thai restaurants I have visited. I ordered a medium and got closer to a hot. I usually order a medium can kick it up to a hot with the spice tray so they saved me the trouble. I would have had problems if I had ordered hot, though.

Favorite St. Paul restaurant. Also, Ruam Mit was my first experience with Thai food and still number one to me. Chicken and Roast Duck curry are my go-to dishes. They’re rich and not too much at the same time, and the meat is always stellar. The Pha Ram Long Song is also a good choice; to keep it simple, the whole menu is a good idea – I’ve never been disappointed. For appetizers, I’d recommend the special egg rolls or the spicy and glazed chicken wings. Don’t worry about getting full on apps as the wait staff is very good at pacing the different orders. Speaking of the staff, they’re helpful, quick, polite and friendly. And they always refill drinks very quickly! If I would change anything about Ruam Mit, it wouldn’t be the food but the chairs/booths. The seats aren’t too comfortable and are rather small. Again, it’s a very small complaint. Notice to future customers: parking can be a bit of a bummer, as St. Peter keeps losing street spots to reservations and other city things, and the parking lot by the restaurant, which used to be just a few bucks, is now often event parking – $ 10. But don’t let that deter you from this fine eatery.

Pha Ram Long Song. Sweet Basil Fried Rice. Curry Puffs. Banh Xeo. Chicken Wings. Cream Cheese Wontons. I love this place soooooooo much. Without hesitation, if I had to choose a last meal right now, it would be from this place, and I’d die happy without a care in the world. It is that good.

When we came in, the hostess could not seat us at most of the tables because they had not been bussed. In fact more than half of the tables in the restaurant were not bussed and had only plates of food just piled on them. The green curry was supremely average. Since when does a Thai green curry contain Broccoli as its main ingredient. There was also an entire vine of Thai Basil just mixed in with the curry sauce. Lame city.

Best Thai restaurant I’ve been to. Roast duck curry was wonderful and we have liked everything we had here. My daughter also goes here often and loves it. They will spice it more or less depending on your wishes. Waitress was great, good service, it was only mildly busy when we were there.

Okay. Here’s the thing. If you say gluten free on your menu then it should actually be gluten free. If a patron politely checks with the staff on allergy restrictions the staff should say, «I don’t know,» if in fact they do not know. Staff was not very knowledgeable, despite a family owned restaurant. Appetizers were the best part of the meal. The chicken skewers and lettuce wraps were great! The server brought out the wrong appetizer(with gluten in it) initially though. Main course pad Thai was mediocre at best. No where near the quality of Amazing Thailand. The #39 Tilapia over vegetables was terrible. Obviously breaded and caused an allergic reaction. Was not gluten free and the quality of fish was no where near acceptable. Skip this place and hold out for better Thai elsewhere.

I felt compelled to update my review of Ruam after last night’s dinner. First off, it was neat to see the place busy on a Sunday aft/eve in dwntn St. Paul. Restaurant was more than half full at 5pm, nice sign! The dish I was nuts about was the walleye. I inquired about the whole fried walleye and market price was $ 38. I balked and the kind waitress said she can do 2 fillets the same way for $ 22. Sold. The walleye arrived on a beautiful fish-shaped platter on a bed chopped lettuce, tomato wedges and artfully carved cucumbers. It was two large completely boneless crispy fillets lightly covered with sweet and hot sauce. It was absolutely amazing. I would eat this weekly if I could.

Some of the best Thai I have had in the Twin Cities! My daughter(who is an expert picky Thai lover :) and I had a great dining experience! Ambiance was nice for typical Thai restaurant and all was good! Can’t wait to bring more people back and try new dishes!

Ruam Mit Thai has become the Thai restaurant I judge all others against in the Twin Cities — at least when it comes to noodle dishes. Their ‘spicy noodle special’ with egg, tomato, onion and sweet basil is packed with peppery heat and flavor. Instead of drowning the noodles in a spicy sauce, Ruam Mit sears the flavor into the noodles and ads additional layers of sweetness and spice. It’s served without protein for $ 11.45 or a bit more for Tufu, mock duck, chicken, pork or shrimp. Their mock duck(a gluten-powered alternative to meat) is well-textured and tasty for even the most finicky meat eaters. Portions are huge so we didn’t need to order the three egg rolls appetizer. We didn’t regret it either, tho, One of the best ways to experience Ruam Mit for the first time is to visit their lunch buffet — It’s a $ 9 two-entrée buffet that contains a noodle and meat entrée, soup, rice, appetizer, fruit and vegetable in endless supply.

Sweet iced tea– very sweet and lemony; not at all like Texas sweet tea, but tasty! Spring rolls were good with a nice peanut topped, vinegary dipping sauce. Service was fast and attentive. Ambiance was fine, but not notable. Red chicken curry ordered medium– delicious. Probably should have stepped down to mild as my nose ran the whole dinner, but the flavor was great! I would come back– food is a 4, atmosphere brings it overall to a 3.

And now to another Thai place in town. It was probably a too rated great in early 2000’s but not anymore. Tried the sriracha chicken fried rice which was sub par. I had to add more of sriracha sauce with ponzu and their spicy chili powder to add some zing and flavor to it. Just plain ol fried rice with no flavor at all and quite a sad setting inside the restaurant. Luckily I got my food to go but didn’t quite enjoy it! Not going back here for sure ! Sawatdee in the neighborhood is better. If you want the real deal Thai, get down to White bear Lake ;” Ban Thai” is THE place to try authentic Thai food which is run by a Thai lady who is in he kitchen cooking the food herself. You may have a bit of a wait but their is worth the wait.

High quality Thai food, conveniently located in downtown St. Paul. We ordered the Spicy Noodle Special with chicken with medium spice level. Normally we would order our food spicier, but we were going to the hockey game at Xcel Energy and didn’t want to have a stomachache(or worse!). The spice level at medium was very nice. Also ordered the Stuffed Chicken Wings, Spring Rolls with Shrimp, Crisy Wontons with Cream Cheese and the Massaman Curry with Beef. Everything was really good. I thought the prices on the entrees were about a buck or so higher than what we would pay for comparable food back home. The service was fine, although we did have to call the server over when we were ready to order, but maybe they didn’t want to interrupt our conversation. I saw they have a lunch buffet, which might be good to try some other time we are in town. We walked from our hotel and got there for an early dinner around 4:30pm. There were only a couple tables occupied at that point, but the place started filling up by the time we left around 5:45pm. Street parking seemed pretty easy at that time.

Tonight was my third night in St. Paul, and without a doubt the finest meal of my stay to date was tonight’s dinner at Ruam Mit Thai. It’s not much to look at from the outside, and yes, as one Unilocaler predicted we did have an encounter with a panhandler in the shadows of the front door. Nevertheless, my work colleague and I were super impressed with our dining experience. The interior is very nice, with light wood panelling, white paint and artwork. Our server was super pleasant, but overworked. It seemed as though she and the gent at the register were running the whole restaurant(two dining rooms) by themselves. Nevertheless, she hustled and refilled our water and checked back with us during the meal. And what a meal! We split a $ 5.45 order of terrific egg rolls as an appetizer– delicate deliciousness of lettuce, carrots, cilantro, rice noodles, shrimp, and sliced pork in rice paper. They came with a crazy good crushed peanut sauce. So simple, so fresh and clean tasting, they were just amazing. My entrée was a $ 12.75 order of Spicy Noodles with Chicken(Stir-fried rice noodles with egg, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, & sweet basil). I ordered the medium level of spiciness and it was about perfect– plenty of bite but not crushing. The dish reminded me a lot of Pad Thai without the peanut sauce. It was really terrific. I had a Thai beer(Singha) for $ 5.50, while my buddy opted for a Bud Light for $ 3.50. Our gourmet meal ran $ 46.41. If you like Thai, you really need to check this gem out.

This place is my little slice of heaven. I love this place. My husband loves the Pad See Lew. I love the Green Curry Chicken and the Curry fried rice with the Special Egg rolls and cream cheese puffs. The Green Curry Chicken has a smooth sweet, savory flavor. Blended with curry, basil, soft bamboo shoots and large chunks of delicious chicken that grabs your palette and screams«yes»! The Curry Fried Rice goes perfect with the Green Curry Chicken and all mix great with the Special Egg rolls. The special egg roll sauce is a blend of fish sauce and spices. Don’t be scared, it’s heaven. The Cream Cheese Puffs are delightful as well and has a special sauce to dip them in. Different than most places the sauce is blended with cinnamon and sugar. It’s the best cream cheese puff sauce I have ever had. Over the past 20 years going there I have only had 1 bad experience. They are very consistent in service, food quality and speed. Special tip– if you get to go there is a nice spot to sit at while you wait. Special tip– if you order any soup or curry to go, make sure you ask for it to be put into a plastic container and not the traditional Chinese to go box. The soup cannot handle box and goes through.

Thai me up, Thai me down, I’m really submissive when it comes to this cuisine, anxious to be enslaved. Do me even half-sexy and I’m going to give you high marks, and that’s what Ruam Mit Thai performed during our not-so-intimate lunchtime roll in the hay. Four items: green curry with broccoli, fried rice with pineapple, coconut milk soup, spring rolls. Well-rounded, wouldn’t you say? Foreplay, role play, rough-n-tumble, we covered the bases. Staffing was on the lean side; while drinks arrived pronto, it took a while to actually order. Entrees arrived quickly, however, maybe ten minutes later. The venue was somewhat open and seating was somewhat cafeteria-esque, lit for the masses, not a bad thing, but don’t come expecting romantic memories to be had. Bright, generally spacious, good booths. In the end, the curry won out. Skip the soup, it was really thin and lackluster, a dish I love that only stands out in a handful of shops. Spring rolls: very good, sauce wasn’t worth noting. So stick with the curry, and get adventurous. They were great with our little one, who managed to mangle the rice. And plan to leave a strong tip if your kiddo messes up the table proper, you brought the little tornado in there, you owe the staff for the wreckage.
