Wish i could love this place. Its about a 5 minute walk from our condo. Service is ok. But even on a Wednesday, we fought for attention from the bartender. And then sat outside because of the crazy show inside. Learn when to cut people off! We were treated to several sugar daddy/gold digger shows! The giant jenga is cool! Just not when its turned into a nasty strip show at 8pm. No one wants that(except maybe the sugar daddies!) Im big on clientele, but unless that is fixed, i wont be back. Sorry!

This bbq is pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised. It looks like a more pretentious place than it actually turned out to be. The bartender wasn’t particularly knowledgeable but was very nice and helpful. The vibe was relaxed and fun and the ambience was pleasant thanks to the large windows in a corner unit.

Had a couple drinks and ate some Bootleggin’ BBQ; which was outstanding. Excellent taste, and humongous portions. I highly recommend The Boss which is big enough for a couple or three folks to share.

A hidden gem for sure when trying to find BBQ in St. Louis, especially KC style bbq. Though a hard spot to miss being in the Pour House I was sold as soon I found this joint. I came for the bbq but the ambiance of the place got me thinking I could come here for more than just that. They had a nice set up, spacious area for just drinking a beer or playing an arcade game to shuffle board. My buddy and I grabbed a full rack of ribs, some burnt ends, pulled pork, and a bunch of sides including the cheezy tots. The ribs were not fall off the bone like most place but super juicy and tender. I approve like 102 percent. The burnt ends were even better though it was mostly fat but that is pork and pork belly to fat is awesome! The pulled pork was a miss for me due to it being a little too dry and couldn’t even be saved by the semi spicy bbq sauce served with dinner. Don’t get me wrong, the sauce was good but not the best. I would still use it because I love sauce. Maybe I came on a bad day for the pulled pork but I would definitely be back for the burnt ends. I recommend them to everyone. The day was super slow but I give propz to the bartender/server who was able to take good care of us while still taking care of her bar people. She was also a qt too and well knowledgeable about everything from the merger of bootleg bbq with the pour house to the times of establishment to even telling us about the late night apps served at the bar if coming in super late just for a drink. I definitely will return. Also remember to check in on Unilocal for 2 free wings with an entrée! Feel Good, Act Good, Be Good. dp

Remember your dads BBQ? It’s garbage compared to Bootleggin’ BBQ. All your memories are garbage. Eat this BBQ, or shut your mouth about what you know about good BBQ. Also, they got this thing with hash browns and cheese, called cheesy tatters or something. Essentially its — no forgot essentially — just eat this thing. So here’s what you do– get a beer. Drink the beer. Then grab the Bill Bootlegger sampler, pour a lil bit of sauce on it, jam that cheesy tatter thing in your trap and suck on a taste explosion that’s like a Chinese firecracker shop blowing up. Repeat. Repeat again. And again.

Now that Bootleggin BBQ is at the Pour House, it has some of the best food you can get in downtown STL. The sampler platter with ribs and burnt ends is spectacular. Also the house made chips are to die for.
