Had cob salad with house and hot braised wings. Both were very good. Extensive menu and servers are always nice.

Normally their food is GREAT — but they either have a new cook or somebody isn’t paying attention to what they’re doing. The fried green beans and breaded mushrooms were almost burned to a crisp. The chicken tenders suffered the same fate, so hard they could be used as a weapon and required a knife to cut, teeth weren’t fazing that crust. If this had been my first visit it would also be my last.

We’re always looking for a good, local restaurant in South County, and we’ve struck gold with The Concord Grill. They have a great lunch special with a sandwich, side, and drink for $ 7. The burgers are great, and rival any burger in STL. The seasoned fries are excellent as well. It is a large menu, and can be a bit daunting, but you’re sure to find something you love. It’s a cute little space with limited seating, so arrive early if you’re eating dinner on a weekend. Highly recommend!

Bought a groupon and decided to give it a try. Starting with the good. The burgers are 9oz for approx $ 10 and they have a whole page of different ways to order a burger. So that’s what we chose. The burgers were good and overall a good value. Now for the bad. We arrived by 4:50pm and didnt leave until after 6pm, and all we ordered was burgers and fries… Service was slow all around(time from when we sat down until our order was taken, time from ordering till we received our food, time until we received our check). The worst part is when we arrived, the restaurant was less than half full. I can only imagine how long it would have taken if the restaurant was full when we arrived… Not to mention the soda seemed flat. It had very few bubbles, which quickly disappeared, along with the flavor of the soda. Overall — If you are in the mood for a good burger and have plenty of time, give the Concord Grill a try. Otherwise, you might consider Sybergs, Helen’s, O’Learys, etc as other local options.

Came in early on a Friday night(before 6). It was already pretty busy but we were shown to a table right away. We had our 1-year-old with us so we requested a high chair from the person who sat us, and they promised to bring one. Only after we asked twice more were we brought a high chair. Generally ignored but once we ordered our service was ok. Burger selection is really impressive and the ones we had were good. I tried the Sriracha and Sean had the Sticky(peanut butter and jalapeño jelly). Both were juicy and good. The jelly melted everywhere on the Sticky so actually not that much ended up on the burger. Fries were saltier than necessary. No changing table in restroom :(Yes, I know it’s not all about the kids but it’s a family place and these things are less than $ 200. There should be one. Overall, good food if you can get it. Service needs work.

The place has been remodeled since my last visit. Basically the remodel allows them to cram a few more tables leaving little room to walk without bumping into someone. The also added a bar area but again its small but with lots of seats. Now for the food. The apparently don’t know how to cook a medium patty, mine was well done, dried out, and had little flavor. Thier burgers come in two sizes. 5oz. and 9oz. seems strange to me. In this day of the gourmet burger joints, the trend is to put a few specialty burgers on the menu and then have a list of items so you can build your own. The menu is huge and confusing. The waiter must have been new because I asked him about several items and he couldn’t answer without checking with someone. They don’t have any draft beer, which is a non-starter for me in this city full of microbreweries. Well, that’s my take on the Concord Grill a once loved burger joint that somehow lost its way.

I am going to have the teriyaki burger cooked medium with their famous toasted rav’s as an appetizer. The burger consists of a teriyaki glaze with sautéed mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Can’t go wrong with this selection I’ve chosen for myself. The restaurant itself is very well kept, great ambience, and Mike, my server is very attentive and is taking great of me thus far. He was very patient with me because it did take some time for me to finally decide. They do have an abundance of choices for burgers so I’m sure if you’ve never been here, you will be reading the menu for quite a while! They all sound so interesting yet appealing! I’ve seen some of the food being passed and I’m looking forward to my lunch today. I do suggest this place to you Unilocalers.

We had the perfect meal on the patio. I highly recommend the bacon cheeseburger. The bacon is cooked thick and crispy. I loved it! The hamburgers come with onions, lettuce and pickles, but be sure to ask for tomatoes if you want some. You can pick whatever type of cheese you like. The seasoned fries are delicious. A highlight of our meal was the sweet tea that they brew fresh. You could tell it was fresh and not too sweet– it was just right. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. She was even willing to leave us a whole pitcher of tea.

I have been here a few of times and the food has been hit or miss. The one thing that is constant though is the service, or lack thereof. They always have an abundance of staff, yet you have a 0% chance of getting a voluntary refill. If there is even a slight crowd you need to make sure to bring a snack as it will be at least 30 minutes between the time you sit down and the arrival of your meal. Today our child spilled a drink at the table which we had to clean up ourselves. I watched four of the wait staff pass during our scramble to clean the table, each saw the issue, zero stopped to help. I hope the owner reads this review and realizes how much better their restaurant could be with some staff training or replacement. I have spoken to many people over the years about this restaurant and everyone describes it the same way, above average food but the worst customer service around. Good luck!

I have been to Concord Grill many times over the years. I’m impressed with the remodel of the restaurant. Their food is always pretty good. They have a variety of burgers with tons of toppings. The burgers are always properly cooked. I also like their homemade Mayfair dressing. If I were basing this on food alone it would be 4 stars. But the service is what makes me drop it down to 3 stars. If I based this review on the service that my family received today, it would be 1 star. We arrived at 1pm– party of 7. The restaurant was very crowded. No one came to take our name or ask how many were in our party. After 5 minutes my mom flagged someone down. There was a party of 2 ahead of us and we let the hostess(I’m not really sure what this girl’s role was) know that the other party was first. There were several dirty tables. So the hostess cleaned off one for the first party. Then cleaned another for us. We were seated and given menus but nothing more for more than 15 minutes. We again had to flag someone down for service as we saw several tables seated and waited on after we had been seated. Finally our orders were taken. The hostess bought our drinks except for 2 people who ordered water. Ten minutes later, still no water. My mom got up and went to the bar to ask for water and drink refills. Another server bought the water and refills. More than 30 minutes after we ordered, our food finally started coming out one by one. So the first person was half way done eating by the time the last dish came out. It was terrible! When we were finished, we again had to flag down the server to get our bill and then again to pay. There seemed to be 3 waitresses and a hostess or busser working. With the outdoor patio and the crowded restaurant, it was clear they needed more people waiting tables. This isn’t the first time the service was poor. Often times, waitresses are rude or act as if they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. But my family likes the burgers so we put up with it. The other major drawback is their coupon/discount policy. We had 2 coupons, one for $ 10 off and buy one get one free burgers. Plus when I checked in a Unilocal offer popped. I knew better than to even ask about the Unilocal discount because the last time I was here and showed them the Unilocal deal they acted like they had no clue. Anyway, our bill was almost $ 100. But we were only allowed to use the one $ 10 off coupon. If we had gotten to use both coupons we might have gotten $ 20 total off our bill so it still would’ve been over $ 80. But again, the waitress wouldn’t allow the second coupon. We finally left the restaurant at about 2:30, way too long! Needless to say, we were all incredibly disappointed as we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday and we will think twice before coming back too soon.

Food was fantastic! I ordered the«J White» and it was perfectly cooked. The staff was attentive and courteous. It took forever to get our food but that first bite made it worthwhile! Soooo good

***DOGHATERS*** We were asked to leave Shottzies because we had our small shih tzu, so went across street to eat on Concord Grill’s patio. The gal asked the manager and said it was ok for us to sit on outdoor patio. However, before our drinks came, the manager came out and told us we couldn’t have our dog there and asked us to leave! She said it was a health dept violation. Too bad… their loss. We shall spend our $$$ someplace else. The«Heath Dept» and Concord Grill should update their standards. We’ve never had this issue in Stl city or Jefferson County. In fact, most places welcome pets on patios by offering water bowls. Politics are messed up when you can still SMOKE in some restaurants(certainly on patios) yet can’t bring a harmless little dog. Redic.

I’m only giving this restaurant 1 star because I can’t give 0 stars. I have been there 2 times. The first time I wasn’t in a rush, so it didn’t really bother me that the food took so long, or that I had to ask for utensils after it was served. The food itself was ok, but rather bland. The second time was the last time I will go to this restaurant due to the really, really bad service. To start, after sitting at the table for 5 minutes, I asked a waiter passing by for a menu. It took another 10 minutes before someone came to take my drink order. I gave her both my food and beverage order. 55 minutes after arriving and 40 minutes after ordering, I didn’t have any food, and no one checked in with me. It was impossible to flag down a waiter because they were scarce and uninterested. I walked out never to return.

Darn good. We picked up some food to go. They have about 40 different types of burgers and they are LARGE — 10 ounces. I ordered a pepperoni pizza burger(burger, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni) and it was really good. I should have just eaten half of the burger and saved the rest for later, but I was a big, fat hog and I ate the whole thing. The fries were good too. Does the Concord Grill have the best burger in St. Louis? I would need a taste-off between them and Seamus McDaniel’s.

This place is just ok. Bland food and a poor burger selection designed only for those desiring to gain 5 lbs in a single visit with watery coleslaw and rubbery broccoli. They really shouldn’t call themselves a burger joint and if they do, add different types of burgers(turkey, veggie, chicken, bean, etc) and add flavor to the food. They only sell one burger with multiple toppings that lack creativity(the California burger is a tasteless piece of unseasoned meat with canned avocado). Skip this place and go to Red Robin(I’m not a fan of a lot of chains, but RR is far better than this place). On a good note, the restaurant itself was clean and service was good. Lots of nice TVs.

This is a down home cooking kind of place. It isn’t fancy or anything but that works just fine for me. I usually get a burger when I am here and they have a lot of choices. What I think is outstanding on their menu is the jalepeno poppers with homemade dipping sauce. They have a couple of TVs and service is okay. Good for groups, dates or if you just want to grab a bite and eat at the bar.

No bar scene, more of a dining place but it seemed kind of dead and boring. No life in this place, perhaps I am wrong. Lots of burgers on the menu so that’s a plus.

Decided to visit this spot again since me, my fiancé, my grandmother, and my great uncle were in the area. Again, I was drawn to the huge burger selection. This time I went with the Philly Burger. Everyone else ordered burgers as well. Here is some things that went wrong this time. It took 11 minutes for our server to come take our order. She was the same waitress we had before, and her personality hasn’t changed. The three people I was with ordered their burgers medium well. I ordered mine medium rare. When the burgers came out, about 25 minutes later, I was disappointed by the«Philly» aspect of my burger. It was a dallop of a cream cheese and peppers mix. No actual peppers or mushrooms or onions at all. Just a little bit of this paste stuff. It tasted fine though. Then I cut my burger in half. I am attaching a picture. It was well done. No pink, let alone a nice red center you’d expect for a medium rare burger. It tasted great though. And the fries were excellent. The taste of the food really saves this place! And there seemed to be other waitresses who were very friendly. But they really dropped the ball on the Philly burger and their cooking of the burgers. I’d still return to try another one of their burgers since the selection is so huge.

You cannot come here without trying one of their many many many burgers on the menu. Don’t be fooled by the hard-to-find location and old school décor, this place is serving some of THE best burgers with creative choices(proteins, cheeses, combinations, breads including pretzel buns /special tonight is sriracha burger– here? Wow!) at rock bottom prices in St. Louis! The chicken is fresh and grilled, again reasonable, and the sweet potato fries are some of the best we have had. Not only do they have this, they have great home cooked food. It’s a must try.
