This restaurant is very good, and the staff is over accommodating. All their food is good. I have a special place in my heart for their chips and salsa, fajitas, and tamales!

This place is ok. I don’t get the hype, although I do have friends who say this is their favorite Mexican place. More expensive than most Mexican restaurants.

In love with this place! Have NEVER found better tamales anywhere in the Midwest! The guacamole is amazingly fresh, margaritas fantastic and service you won’t get many places. Feels like home and will hopefully be around a long time!

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. The décor was cute and the atmosphere was nice. Quiet, likely because it was sunday. The service was spectacular. Our server was attentive and answered all my questions about their menu. I liked the menu because there were a lot of options you don’t normally see at a standard tex-mex restaurant. I settled on the shrimp which comes with a diablo and mole sauce. Both were delicious but the diablo was(as warned) very spicy! My date got the off menu special — abondengas, which were also quite tasty. Overall the food was a little heavy on the grease, but still good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those looking to try some tasty, somewhat authentic(I am assuming, I’ve never been to Mexico) Mexican cuisine!

Short version: excellent guacamole, house salad, and house salsas – BUT cramped seating and some other issues detract considerably from the dining experience. Tables here are uncomfortably close together(both inside and on the patio). This makes for awkward maneuvering when sitting down, reaching for your drink, going to the restroom, or enduring a neighboring table bumping into you as they get up to leave. The guacamole and wonderful salsas keep me coming back, but every time I sort of regret it because of the experience of eating here. Another issue is that, In my opinion, the entrees are somewhat overpriced, and I always have trouble picking something that is healthy – I either have to be content with just a salad or abandon my attempt to get something that has both protein and vegetables in the same dish.

The service was friendly, funny and efficient, the food was delicious, the margaritas were ONPOINT(between the 4 of us who went we got the strawberry frozen, strawberry on the rocks, regular on the rocks, and one other frozen one I can’t remember — all were delicious) and the porch was pleasant and fun. One star off for bringing a strawberry marg when my sister ordered a huckleberry(it was still delicious, so we didn’t make a stink, and I’m sure if we had said something they would have replaced it) and for the cheese dip being stringy and not entirely dippy if that makes sense. When you think of queso, you think of creamy, smooth cheese. This may have been more authentic or something but it was not very texturally pleasing. The same cheese was also in the cheese enchiladas. Everything else was stellar.

Over rated and Over priced. We started off with the chips and salsa which actually were very good. Light, crispy and salty, just the way I like them. There were 3 different salsa’s and all were good. The margaritas were also good and refreshing but that’s about where all the good stuff ends. I had the beef fajitas which was disappointing. The meat was dry and it tasted like round steak with no flavor and over cooked and under seasoned, very disappointing. My BF ordered several small dish’s and seemed to like what he ordered. I thought it was interesting that the fajitas were $ 14.95(I believe) but then to get the cheese was an extra dollar along with the lettuce and tomatoes. Each item cost a buck more which was seen in the mice print. The waiter was also tending bar and seemed very distracted by doing both; waiting on tables and tending bar, also not very friendly. Just OK for me.

We went twice. We love Mexican and after we moved in this place was closest to us. We took a group the first time and the food according to most of group was marginal. It seemed to me the prices were a bit higher than most Mexican restaurants. We decided to try again and my wife and I went together. I had fajitas and they definitely had a different flavor. Not much seasoning or maybe it was just a totally different seasoning than I am used to. The prices are a bit higher and you pay for every extra including sour cream, cheese etc. not horrible but average food at higher prices.

Not sure why this place is always packed unless it’s because of the drinks but which I’m unsure of because I never ordered one, but both times we’ve been there the service is ok, the food is bland and the prices are ridiculous… they charge extra for everything. Gave it a try twice and won’t be back. There is just too many places to choice from in the area, why waste my money at a «so-so» place!

Seating on patio was nice. Not the type of Mexican I am use to in most neighborhood places. Maybe a little more like Tex-Mex. They had a great crowd who seemed to enjoy the food, but not my style. Higher price then others on both food and drink.

Nice Tex-Mex Restaurant. Seemed a popular spot for dining on the patio. We were with our small children so we opted to sit inside. Service was quick and attentive. Chips and three salsas were wonderful. I had the combo of Mexican enchilada and hard beef taco. Both were great, ranchero sauce was good and the rice was yummy as well. Husband had the steak Burrito and he eats burritos a lot and he really liked it. Said it was well seasoned and tasty. The kids split steak fajitas and they gobbled that up. Margarita was good as well. If ever back in the Hill neighborhood of St. Louis I would definitely go back!

This is my little neighborhood haunt. I love this place. Steve makes an amazing margarita and I adore the smoky chipotle salsa. The staff are always really friendly and the service is prompt and attentive. Love the food, love the atmosphere! One of the best things I love about living in St Louis Hills is this little gem.

What a great little neighborhood spot! We go here at least once a week. We’ve never had to wait for a table, though they do seem to be consistently busy. Chips come with three different salsas, all of which are great. We have always had excellent service! The food is always fresh. It’s nothing super fancy, but you don’t always need a lot of bells and whistles for a great meal. Chile relleno and pork tamales are my favorites.

My husband and I are regulars at Pueblo. The BEST margaritas in town(maybe the world) and extremely fresh Mexican food. Guacamole is always fresh, as well as their homemade salsas that you can tell are made fresh because they are always slightly different. I’m a big fan of the chicken fajitas and the burritos, also chicken nachos. But I’ve tried several other items and never been disappointed. It’s a small place so harder with big groups, but they will accommodate. The staff is friendly and efficient. By far my favorite Mexican food in St. Louis.

Gross gross gross I am not one to complain about food… BUTTHISPLACEISNASTY. I was very disappointed… the rice was straight mush and BLAN. The waiter told me that the chicken couldn’t possibly be BLAN because it SITSIN A SAUCE. Not fresh food at all I will NOTBEBACK! What kind of fajita isn’t sizzling hott or not even a sizzle!!!

Service was awful. Food even worse. I got a beef taco that came dripping with grease. Rice is a very strange neon color and completely bland. Chips come with 3 different salsas that were actually pretty good.

Great chips and salsa and excellent margaritas. The bartender(Steve) is excellent. We always try to sit at the bar to enjoy his company; he makes great margaritas(try the strawberry margarita) and is fun to talk to. They serve three different salsas with their chips(all free): a smoky chipotle salsa, a spicy salsa, and a verde salsa and they are all made fresh daily. We eat here with our daughter, who tends to make a mess, and the staff never minds and is always very helpful with her. They also make a hell of a mole sauce that we order on the side and put on most of our dishes. The only negative is that they aren’t open for lunch! We live very close to this place and eat here at least once a month. It definitely earns an A!

A recommendation from a friend persuaded me to start with the queso fundido(melted chihuahua cheese and mexican sausage served with tortillas, $ 8). It was pretty delicious, but there was a minimal amount of sausage in it. The beef gorditas rellenas($ 9.25 served with rice and beans) were so fried, they were completely soaked in oil and overpowered everything else on the plate. I wasn’t impressed with the margaritas either — tasted like they were made from a mix. Service was good. Pros: good service Cons: food was sub-par, margaritas weren’t anything to write home about either

Order the veggie burrito —amazing mix of squash, onions, tomatoes, green beans, snap peas, asparagus and who knows what else! Definitely the best thing that a vegetarian can order on the menu… oh, and get it loaded. The chips are light and airy, but I wasn’t a huge fan of their salsas(they give you three different kinds at the beginning). YET, I couldn’t stop eating them, because I was starving. so I think there might be some sort of addictive ingredient added. ;) Cute ambiance. Great beans and rice. Okay guacamole(ordered it as a side with my burrito). I’d go back.

I love Mexican food. Seriously, love it. Pueblo is my absolute favorite place to get my fix in the area. They have the best margaritas around! My roommate and I can knock some back, and at most places split a pitcher, but here we usually only get one each because they are strong enough to make getting back around the corner to home an ordeal after three each. My favorite thing on the menu is their nachos. I have never had better anywhere! Everything else I have ever had there has been fantastic as well. I’m also a fan of the tamales, and the beans and rice are quite good. I highly recommend Pueblo Solis. Go forth and enjoy!
