Pickle’s is a great little sandwich shop in the Central West End. The have a wide selection of sandwiches and ample meats, cheeses, and toppings to create your very own! I went with the Pickle’s Club, the standard club sandwich spiced up by adding avocado. They pile everything high with meat and toppings so be ready to fill up! I haven’t tried any of their soups, but I’ve heard good things about them as well. So, if you’re on a break for lunch, visiting nearby, or need a sandwich on your way to hang out at Forest Park, Pickle’s is a great stop.

I was in town visiting the nearby medical campus and decided to try Pickles out for lunch. Had the Philly Cheese Steak – it was magnificent. The peppers were so fresh, the cheese mixed in and melted just right, and the bread was so light and doughy. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because of how short the staff were with me – they seemed almost irritated that I wanted lunch. Food was excellent though, if I ever find myself back in STL I’d consider going back.

I work at the Wash U Medical campus and walk up to Pickles every other week or so. My favorite selections are the Meatball Sub and the Philly Cheesestake. To be honest everything I have ever gottten there is pretty good. Sometimes there can be a line around noon and as a result it isn’t great for groups larger than 4.

THEBEST Deli in St Louis! I’ve NEVER had a sandwich here that I didn’t absolutely love! Hard to pick one, but I think their Rueben is my favorite. One of the best Reuben’s I’ve had! Tim & Sean(the owners) are some of the nicest & coolest guys you’ll meet! I’m always amazed by how many events they donate their food & time to! Such amazing & generous business owners! Between the delicious food & the amazing staff … Pickles is definitely a deli you should check out & support!

I am sure, if you know me at all, whether in person — or from my reviews on Unilocal — you know that there are several things that I have an emotional connection to, food-wise, that I would consider myself an aficionado on. Wine. Whiskey(working on varieties). Tacos. Cuban Sandwiches. I know, I know… very diverse! My husband and I decided to embark on a quest after reading a few articles about good Cuban sandwiches in the city and thus a list was presented to us that I believe was in the Riverfront Times two years ago. Every other weekend, sans kids, we were checking another place off of our list. At this point, I’d had an innumerable amount of cuban sandwiches over the course of my life, given it is one of my favorite meals. I have tried variations by restaurants where they did their own thing and gave it a name after their own restaurant because they doctored it up a bit. Ok, that’s cool — but I want the real thing. The real Cuban sandwiches that migrant workers used to eat and make, on Cuban bread — with zesty mustard and thick sliced pickles. Bring it! The next stop on our list was Pickle’s Deli. The night before we had actually had a «signature»(a restaurant’s variation of a Cuban sandwich, not the real deal) Cuban Sandwich and we weren’t terribly pleased to say the least… it was just… «ok». To cleanse the palette and renew my desire to continue the«tour de Cubanos» we went here. The pickles were crisp, the bread was warm and fresh and was the closest to Cuban bread(though a different shape) that I have had thus far. the meat was piled high and layered appropriately, the mustard quite tangy and the pickles crisp. I was so pleased with the Cuban sandwich here that I have started to weight all of the other Cuban Sandwiches against this one. When I said innumerable, I meant it. I truly cannot count how many Cuban sandwiches I have tried, nor how many establishments. There is one that always stands out in your mind, however — and this sandwich is that for me.(The following weekend after this we tried the«signature» Cuban Sandwich at Dalies Smokehouse — review forthcoming.) My husband got the Reuben and he said it is definitely one of his favorite Reuben sandwiches,(he later found another closer to home that he loves at Fozzie’s Sandwich Emporium). I am very pleased with the Cuban sandwich here and I hope to return to try some of their other options once I have completed my quest. Who knows? Maybe this will end up being the best Cuban Sandwich in St. Louis, according to me, after the Tour de Cuban Sandwiches mission is complete.

Maybe 4 stars and above average. I got the pastrami reuben and it was piled high and very good, on toasted marble rye, with not too much 1000 island on it. They have chips and some pre-made sides like humus, couscous, potato salad, slaw, etc. $ 2.50 seemed like a lot for a 22 oz. glass full of ice, but you can get refills. All the sandwiches that went by looked good. But the street parking is a hassle. Groupon got me there, so it was worth it.

Every sandwich I’ve tried here has been fantastic! I’ve recently become obsessed with the Philly Cheese Steak; I’ve tried Philly’s from multiple different sandwich places but none compare to this one. Additionally, the staff are all super friendly. I wish they would extend their hours so I had more opportunities to come in!

I really wanted to like Pickles. I really really did. Even though I don’t eat meat, I love delis because I am crazy about egg salad/tuna salad sandwiches and I can eat pickles all day long. However, I found both the egg salad and the pickles at Pickles to be disappointing, and to have a strange, concerning«off» flavor. The egg salad had a weird, almost rotten-tasting savoriness to it. Neither the pickles nor the egg salad were particularly cold. All in all, a very unsatisfying lunch and my stomach, an hour and a half later, feels uneasy. Maybe the meat sandwiches are great. And hopefully the tuna salad is too — in the spirit of open-mindedness, I plan to come back and try it. But my experience today was pretty bad, so I will definitely be taking my egg salad cravings elsewhere. +1 star for excellent service and +1 star for a wide variety of sandwich toppings.

I come to Pickles quite a bit as I live in the neighborhood and for me it’s a great a place to grab a sandwich and go. On the nights where I don’t feel like dining in a restaurant or making dinner at home, this is my local spot to grab dinner. Sometimes all a guy needs is great sandwich and that’s why I keep coming back. In addition to some stellar sandwiches(my personal favorite is the Italian w/balsamic spread), they also have some great soups that rotate by the day. The only downside is that the do close at 7PM during the week. I normally eat dinner around 7:30−8, so sometimes I miss my Pickles fix.

Pickles Deli is a great place to grab a sandwich, salad or soup for lunch. There is a small eating area inside and starting in the spring, the outdoor tables are set up. Entering the deli, you either get in line(most likely there will be one) or you go up to the register to place your order. Today I tried the Pickles Club and the Majordomo(who also happened to have a coupon) got the veggie wrap along with the black bean and feta soup. My club sandwich had turkey, ham, bacon, an avocado spread with lettuce and tomato on French bread. When choosing your sandwich, you also get to choose what type of bread you want. My sandwich was loaded with the ingredients and was very tasty. I could have eaten the entire sandwich but I didn’t want people to think I was a pig. Majordomo’s wrap looked delicious and he agreed it was pretty good. The black bean soup was good. There is a choice of fountain drink or bottle drink. I believe you get free refills on your fountain drink. All in all, it was a good experience. Would I come back here. Yes indeed.

Great sandwiches and sides as well as a nice selection of craft beers. Excellent Cuban sandwiches and the Route 11 potato chips, in various varieties are the best I have ever had. Fast attentive service. Yes it is more pricey than others but you definitely are paying for top quality and you get it here.

We eat big in Texas or so I thought. One place I know that matches us if not surpasses us is Missouri. I’m shocked at some of the eateries we’ve been to. Pickles is now on that list. The place is located off Euclid and the parking situation is abysmal unless you park in the garage. The restaurant is second to last off the corner. You just look for the black canopy with the name. We entered in and one thing we didn’t like is a piece of their wall was loose attm the corner and nearly scratched my Wife. Thankfully she was paid attention and missed it. The place was clean all the way to the restroom. The staff was pretty cool especially the young lady that took our order. She was extremely helpful and her attitude is great. She explained q menu options to my Wife while I washed up. We got our sandwich order in plus side and drink. My Wife got potato salad and I opted for chips. Good Lord the sandwiches were stacked. My Wife got turkey on croissant and I got Italian on wheat. My sour cream and onion chips were good. My Wife’s potato salad was darn good though and it surprised us. We don’t eat most people potato salad but it was pretty good. They use boars head meat so quality was there. I actually finished my sandwich but my Wife had to take the rest of her food home. You are going to like the place if you go. Bookmark it and make your way over it’s worth the trip. The next time we go back to the Lou we’ll pay a visit.

I would actually give this place a 4 ½ stars. I’ve been here many times, both dining in and ordering and carrying out. The food is amazing and the staff couldn’t be more pleasant. I’ve tried many of the sandwich options on their menu from the Cuban to the Reuben. My favorite has to be «The Bipolar,» which is a Reuben with both corned beef and pastrami. I don’t believe it’s on the menu so if you want to try it out, just order it and they will make it for you. You can also make your own sandwich by picking and choosing from their ingredients. This place is great if you want to go picnic in Forest Park, but don’t feel like preparing your own food. I’ve picked up Pickles on my way to Forest Park multiple times. One thing to note is that this location can get crowded around lunch time due to the hospital employees and the other businesses around the area. However, the staff do a great job of getting everyone served in a timely manner and interacting with the customers at the same time.

Amazing! Great guys got me my first meal here ever after a nasty customer experience next door, which I’m actually glad happened so I could try these guys out. I had the Pickles club and the pretzel bread was sooooooo goooood! The guys were very nice and while one guy was ringing me out the other guy was making my sandwich. They listened to my grievances about my experience next door but we’re still professional about it. Also had the Bai5 drink, some rainforest drink, I just enjoyed the 1g of sugar &5g of sodium. Taste like Gatorade. I will be back!!!

Pickles Deli has a wide variety of fresh and hot sandwiches and sides. I had the cuban and a side of pasta salad. Both were very good. My pasta salad had a bit too much Italian dressing, but it was still well made. The service was also very good. I took my order to go and before i left, i was offered a top-off of my drink, which was a nice gesture. I would return!
