Ice cream was good as usual. However the grade of plastic spoons need to change. All of our spoons were bent and we ended up flicking ice cream on the floor several times because the ice cream was so hard and the spoons so flimsy. A tad bit frustrating.

It’s a nice place. While I don’t eat ice cream that often because of my lactose(or GMO) intolerance, I do love some of B&J’s exclusive flavors. So for dessert I decided to stop in here after eating somewhere on the Loop. Reasonably priced, and the staff explained everything greatly. Cheers

So so good. I got a half baked shake and it was fantastic. It was a huge treat for me to come here since there isn’t any Ben & Jerry shops where I live. The store wasn’t crowded which was nice considering there are a lot of people hanging out on The Loop. I walked in and it smelled like waffles and that smell is always glorious. The ladies who worked there were really nice and patient while I picked out a flavor. There were so many flavors to pick from which can be a tad over whelming. I was going to try a new flavor, but I wanted to stick with half baked since I love that flavor to begin with. I will come back when I’m in that area.

I enjoy going to this Ben and Jerry’s so much I wrote a song about it. Well, it is more like a poem as I don’t have any musical accompaniment with this text, but if you want to imagine some cheery music while reading the«lyrics» that would be cool: (Start in a major key with an upbeat sound) Well come here folks and sit on down, I’m going to tell you ’bout the best ice cream in town. The employees are friendly and eager help, making them one reason I wrote this on Unilocal; and even though you can buy this at the store if you want a bigger selection of flavors, they’ve got more. That’s right, I’m singing about Ben and Jerry’s. Oh yes, Ben and Jerry’s tastes good, just how you know an ice cream should. They’ve got frozen yogurt if you’re thinking ’bout your weight, in the winter-time the hot-shakes are great! You can get it in a bowl or cone, the prices are fair so call your friend, pick-up the phone! That’s right, I’m singing about Ben and Jerry’s. (Now the song suddenly enters a minor key and sounds sad) Oh, its a hot day in the summer, what ever shall I do? I want a cold treat, and I know you do too. The sun is blazing down, it’s making me sweat, but don’t worry… I know just what to geeeeeeeet! That’s right, I’m singing about Ben and Jerry’s! (Back to a major key) Tell your mom, and tell your dad, they don’t have any flavor that tastes bad. Between the customer-care and great taste, there is no better place! So quite delaying, I’m not playing, This is some ice-cream for which you’ll be happy you’re paying! That’s right, I’m singing about… Ben…and…Jerryyyyyyyyy’s! So yes, I would recommend this place, you can probably tell.

Ben and Jerry’s at the store is good stuff… and you’d be better off going there to get it. My waffle cone was very stale and the ice cream was barely cold enough. Won’t be back

If you follow obscure Unilocal-STL Talk threads, you may wonder, «Who is this Bozo ‘John H.’ who wants Anchorman ‘Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch’ ice cream, and doesn’t know he can find it at B&J The Loop?» Yep, that’s me. I’m still looking for the Will-Ferrell-limited-edition(well, maybe ongoing edition) carton. But I did get the generic-cartoned, hand-packed version here, probably just as good, service with a smile, at 6.02/pint including tax, two pints, one for now, and one for a special occasion. If you’re a fan of butterscotch, the ice cream recipe is very good! I’ll issue the disclaimer/old-man-story that it’s sort of a sentimental thing, for me. Long ago, when I was a young guy with a girlfriend/fiancéé in the only professional modern dance company in Detroit, there were parties. And, at one of the parties, the anchors from a certain Detroit station were in attendance, one of whom is supposed to have been a model for the character of Ron Burgundy. So «Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch» is not only FLAVOR but also NOSTALGIA for me. And unintentional forced POPCULTURALHISTORYLESSON for you, dear reader.

If you’re wanting Ben & Jerry’s, just go to the store and pick it up because this place is gross. The upkeep is really bad here and there is this weird freezer burn smell lingering when you walk in, and I’m not even exaggerating when I say that you can taste it on the ice cream. I’m sure this place had it’s hey-day, but it is clear that it needs new management because it’s such a perfect fit for the neighborhood and it needs to stay around.

No one needs to hear more about the numerous flavors that every Ben and Jerry’s offers, but two characteristics are worth mentioning at this store: –This location lacks in presentation. I arrived today shortly after opening and the server was helping some customers with most of the lights still off and boxes of ice cream piled on the counters. In my experience businesses are ready to go at opening time, not still scrambling to set up. Plus, it looked sort of dirty. –Where they make up for the presentation is their customer service… you’re always greeted with a smile and I was given very generous scoops on my visit today. The server even offered a young couple a bit of ice cream in a cup for their baby to enjoy with them. Cute. Haphazard and questionable cleanliness + great attitude and lots of ice cream cancel out to leave this Ben and Jerry’s location smack dab in the middle for me.

My husband is all about ice cream. Preferably the most caloric, decadent flavors there are to offer. Needless to say, he is a huge Ben & Jerry’s fan. After dinner, we decided to get some dessert here and I wasn’t that impressed. It was a tiny store — very cramped and just plain dirty. I ordered some kind of chocolate peanut butter ice cream and when I set it down on the counter to pay, I saw melted ice cream all over the place. I realize The Loop is a busy place, but someone needed to give that store a serious wipe down. The only pleasurable aspect of this experience was the person helping us. He was very nice.

Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Shops should really be a staple in every city/town. This particular location offers fast and pleasant custoemr service. The guy that helped us was very friendly in a sincere«Let’s Get You Some Ice Cream!» kinda way. its very nice when you are getting«Feel Good Food» to have someone that seems to want to get you«Feel Good Food» Definately an asset to the store!

We’ve all had Ben and Jerry’s ice cream(give no lactose intolerance or other restrictions). This one isn’t really that different. Four stars because the guy who works here is pretty cool and really nice(in my opinion). Try the Bonnaroo Buzz, while it lasts: coffee and malt ice creams with toffee chunks and a whiskey caramel swirl. Above guy said that the first batches were really whiskey-heavy, so I’m a little sad I missed out.

Chocolate Therapy… works every time! Hands-down my choice for the best ice cream in the ‘Lou. Lots of variety with great flavor and texture. Was so sad when my Kirkwood B&J left!

Great ice cream, creative flavors, wacky décor, what’s not to get excited about? The first time I visited the B and J’s int the Loop was on their Free Cone Day. As you can imagine, their line was extremely long. The place could use some additional seating, but overall the staff is witty and nice, and the goods are well, just that.

Did I mention that I love all the folks that work here? Ok, well, I’ll say it again. Every time I go to B&J’s, I’m always treated so wonderfully by the folks working there. I just can’t say enough good things.

Yes, Ben & Jerry’s is a chain. Yes, you can just buy the darn ice cream in a store. I don’t care — the Loop location is just plain fun to visit. As others have said, the workers here are really friendly — even more friendly than other B&J locations. They honestly seem happy to have you in the store and are excited for you to taste their wares. Can’t make up your mind? No problem! They’ll give you as many samples as it takes for you to decide(provided you’re legitimately going to buy things, of course. Don’t abuse the generosity). Moreover, they don’t do that weird singing/rhyming thing that other ice cream chains(down the street, ahem) do to «keep people happy.» I’m happy enough with B&J’s honesty and smiles, thanks. Ben & Jerry’s has about 16 – 20 flavors available. There’s plenty to offer everyone with tastes leaning toward chocolate, nuts, caramel or fruit. And while Ben & Jerry’s is a chain, the workers(many are area university students) take pride in the store and really make it feel like a local hangout. Ben & Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day happened last week. Any free food day has the potential to go from a great idea to a catastrophe in an hour(see Denny’s, KFC, etc.). However, this B&J planned properly for the crowds and had plenty of ice cream left even when I arrived at 7 p.m.(some flavors were already out, it’s true). The good vibes from the workers were transferred to the customer crowd, as there was no pushing, impatience or general negativity. Everyone really handled the day well.

Strolling around the Loop on a recent weekend trip back to St. Louis, I was craving some ice cream. I tried to pop in to Fro-Yo across the street, but only found hoards of people and long lines. Ben & Jerry’s to the rescue! The place only had a few customers at that time, and I had the full attention of the pleasant worker behind the counter. Sure, you can taste that one. What else can I get for you, etc. Service with a smile. I opted to try a flavor I’d never heard of before — the One Cheesecake Brownie — cheesecake ice cream, brownie bites, and cheesecake bites. De-lish! Loaded into a waffle cone, and it was heaven on that unusually warm March afternoon! I was offered a student discount, but felt bad about taking it, since I’m not a student. But if you are, don’t hesitate to take that 10%(but maybe leave it as a tip instead).

I don’t need to comment on their ice cream– it’s Ben & Jerry’s! They’re EVERYWHERE! But I like this store in particular. — The people are reallyyy nice. They help the college students’ communities around them and they’re friendly in-store. I went with a group of like 20(don’t ask) once and he was really patient as he got all of our ice cream served and paid for! — It’s on the Loop. Get your scoop of ice cream and either sit outside/sit staring outside and people-watch with your friends or socialize a bit. hehehehe, fun stuff! Bottom Line: You can get Ben & Jerry’s anywhere, but if you’re in the Loop and in the mood for some sitting AND their delish ice cream, come here!
