Really good pizza and great service in a super-casual environment. They have pizza by the slice(which I didn’t try) and baked us up a custom pizza with a perfect thin crust and super fresh toppings(even the green peppers were fresh and still had a crunch, which was a nice surprise). We’ll definitely be back here. Only negative thing to say was that the door to the men’s single bathroom didn’t lock or even latch shut.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. After a VERY long Halloween party and an even longer walk down Washington, it occurred to me that my stomach was growling and I hadn’t eaten anything since 1pm. At this point it was almost 11pm, and I was getting delirious. We ran across Il Posto and I was sold, just because it smelled so good from the outside. This place certainly delivered! Our request was simple(cheese slice, pepperoni slice) and the employees were super friendly. The pizza was already made but they took a few minutes to heat it up and then brought it over. I thought it was going to taste like crap from being re-heated but I’m pretty sure the original pieces had JUST come out of the oven, and they wanted to make sure it was 100% hot. This pizza was so good. I don’t know if I was starving and desperate or it was really that fantastic, but I ate the whole slice in less than a few minutes. The cheese and sauce were perfect. This place saved the day and now that I know that it’s there, I’ll be stopping by much more often.

The person who took our order was very unfriendly. No smile, no greeting… he pretty much sat there frowning. The food was yucky. Both my salad and the pizza had a strange aftertaste, kinda like metal. Gross.

This is the perfect place to grab a slice at 3 in the morning on wash ave on your home. You can get by the slice which are huge and really good but avoid the salad, never had it but several ppl say its crap. But then again who’s eating a salad 3 in the morning wth

Best STL style pizza I have ever had, that is to say, I didn’t hardly realize it was St. Louis style. I detest Imo’s so I never go out of my way for STL style. This was good. Crisp crust but some chew too. Homemade sausage. Nice cheese blend — not too strong. Sweet, tomato-y sauce. Also had the garlic cheese bread. Tasty, but I would have preferred more garlic. I thought the prices were decent too.

Ordered 2 lunch specials that included small salad, personal pizza and beverage for $ 9.50. The salad was lettuce, onion, cheese, one wedge of tomato and extremely overdressed with ranch dressing. The pizza was quite large for a personal pizza and was ‘ok’. The sauce was a bit sweet but otherwise flavorless and cheese was concentrated in the middle. Not very good. My wife and I decided we could have shared one special between the two of us and that we wont be rerunning to such a sub-par pizzeria. Sorry!

Had a small cheese pizza. The crust was thin and ok. What I didn’t like was the sauce and cheese. The sauce was a little sweet and at times there tended to be a moldy after taste. I’m not sure what their cheese mixture is but on some parts of the pizza it was a wet messy goo(not greasy), which tasted gross. Just a bad pizza experience.

I ate here recently and was definitely impressed, and will be back. Their street slices of pizza are about as big as a whole paper plate. The cheese blend is awesome as well!

This was the worst tasting pizza I’ve ever had. First when I called the woman that answered the phone made me repeat everything four times. I place my order for a pizza with extra cheese and extra pepperoni and got extra cheese and not very many pepperoni slices. Then She ask for my card number and I had to almost spell it the numbers bc she wasn’t coherent at all to understand me and proceeds to tell me my total and hangs up. I had to call back bc they never got my address and she said she forgot. How do you forget to get the address for a delivery order. I will never return here or recommend this place.

Great Saint Louis pizza by genuine and kind folks. This is a great establishment with economical choices, a great sweetie of a cook and desserts, like cannoli. The male host is a gentleman and unobtrusive.

I was a fan of B&Ts(obviously, you can go find my review of it, and the tombstone for it I left) but one thing B&T wasn’t really good at was street slices. Their prepared pizzas, fresh from the oven, were excellent. Their«heat lamp» street slices were horrible. The same goes for Il Posto, except now their prepared pizza is also terrible. If you like St. Louis Style pizza(provel, cracker crust) then you’re probably fine but the price is a bit much. The reason I’m writing this review, however, is the addition of sandwiches. Their sandwiches are actually good and priced appropriately. Downtown lunch choices under 10 $(not counting Schnuck’s) are constantly under assault and $ 6.50 for their sausage sandwich was excellent.

Let’s get something out of the way: yes, Provel isn’t for everybody, and really, it’s best suited for pizza of the St. Louis variety. If you’ve experienced Imo’s and let that be your decision-making experience, I apologize — that’s the worst example of St. Louis-style pizza. Il Posto is light years ahead of any of the chains, and is completely a different story than the industrial slop-house pizza that B&T made. Only drunk people who appreciate chain restaurant food would have found B&T to be any good after their ingredient quality took a dive. Il Posto’s pizza is really decent. It’s classic, Hill-style Sicilian-St. Louis pizza; in flavor, it’s similar to many of the higher-quality, mom & pop STL-style pizza shops and LIGHTYEARS ahead of any of the chains. House-made sausage? Yes, please. I found the dough to be quality(not the frozen, pre-made shells Imo’s uses); toppings fresh and high-quality; cheese, it’s Provel, but it’s blended with others — not bad, really! I found the crew working behind the counter on a Saturday night visit to be pleasant and quick. Only two sizes of pies available, a 14″ and an 18″. 14″ is just about perfect for two hungry adults, at $ 14 for a one-topping is a great value given the ingredient quality. On another note: if I wasn’t such an upstanding Unilocaler, I’d probably assign a half star just in appreciation of the Rocky Balboa shrine on the wall. But, you know, integrity…

This place serves gross, st louis style, proven ridden pizza. B&T pizza was great late night pizza, and I’m very disappointed with the change. Even in a drunken stuper alll 4 of us thought the pizza was terrible.

This place isnt’ as good as B&T’s, and I didn’t even like B&T’s much… I eat a lot of pizza and there are WAY better options within a 2 block radius. Went there for lunch and they basically gave me an overpriced cracker with a little hard cold cheese on top. Then they proceeded to flier every door of my loft building which is desperate, the flier advertises that they deliver so I tried to give them another chance and on a Thursday at 7pm they said«we’re not delivering tonight». Will never try to eat there again

Following the example of B&T(R.I.P.), Il Posto is now open until 3AM on weekends. Hooray for late night slices! A large square slice of sausage pizza cost me $ 5. This was a huge slice, enough to split with a friend. The slice was pretty good, but let it be known that they do use provel in their cheese blend. I don’t like provel at all, however I still enjoyed this slice plenty. Granted, I had a few beers in me. I believe the sausage is made in-house. A helpful dose of crushed red pepper didn’t hurt. I also picked up a cannoli on the way out and I was impressed with how good it was. Give em a shot. I still miss the NY-style slices from B&T, but Il Posto is a worthy replacement.

I came in here thinking that B&T was still around but this place didn’t disappoint. It was almost like I was back in middle school where they had cookie sheet pizza. The slices are huge and square. I got two slices to go for about $ 7 which is a way better deal than what Papa Johns and Culinara offer per slice. They didn’t change much of the interior. They added some menu items and also table cloths. I saw a lot more people actually sitting and eating in here so it does have some draw. It also looked like they had a lot more to offer as far as pizza by the slice as well when it came to variety. Not to mention but they also have a liquor license so you can get some wine and a beer here. I’m sure I’ll come and visit again.

Fans of the former occupant of this space should be forgiven for thinking that nothing has changed. On the surface, little has. B&T’s sign has been replaced with one that reads«Il Posto»(literally translated to ‘the place’ or ‘the spot’… for pizza in this case, hence their slogan), but the large pane glass windows are still clear to Washington and a couple of tables remained locked up on the sidewalk, presumably open on warmer days. Inside, the counter arrangement, soda fountain, tables and the round mirrors along the east wall also haven’t changed, even if the menu board is new and there are a few photo/art pieces on the wall.(Thinking about the menus, they’re almost exactly the same too: pizza is the entrée, with the expected toppings offered. There are a couple of bread-based appetizers and four listed salads.) Aside from the red, white and green paint in a few places, the modernist, urban design is wholly intact. The pizza has gone through some updating though, and it’s worth noting. The first thing that jumps out are the pan shapes. Where B&T used a classic round and offered triangular slices, Il Posto opts for a rectangular pie with quadrangular slices(mostly square, but a little longer: maybe this owes to the owner’s Sicilian roots?). This doesn’t affect the taste of the pizza at all(…obviously?), but is worth mentioning since for lunch, by the slice is probably the way most diners should go. A single slice is probably equivalent to a 6″ or 7″ pizza. The crust is thinner, in a St. Louis style, and served with a bubbled edge. The sauce is not too sweet, nor a distraction from the cheese topping which includes provel. According to the RFT blogger covering the change, the new owner includes his own blend of spices and it shows in the hard-to-pin-down-at-first flavor. Slightly more expensive than I remember B&T being, the extra quarter for a slice is worth it. For a filling lunch or meal plus leftovers, the lunch special of a 10″ pizza, salad and drink for $ 9.50 is a good deal. Expect to pay about $ 6 for a slice plus soda. The staff working the day that I went had my order in and ready within about 5 minutes, a must for a quick-lunch place. While I was a fan of Bridge & Tunnel, Il Posto fills nicely whatever void in the luncheon scene that their departure would’ve left.

Another eatery I can walk to from work always makes me wan to try it. I decided for a quick bite for lunch this would be the day I tried. I walked in and really liked the décor. Its very clean not to crowded and has a nice look to it. The pizza was fairly priced and good. I know pepperoni is always greasy but the grease was dripping off the large slice this was a bit off a draw back for me. I did enjoy the taste and it left me not quite full since I had missed breakfast, but it was a good size slice. I had got a piece of tiramisu as well. It was good while eating I realized my mental anomoly that i love tiramisu but have coffee… go fig? My only issue with that was the pool of coffee in hte bottom made it fall a part a bit more then what my tastes are. The folks at the counter were friendly and the service was good. I will be back.

I would have to say this is my favorite pizza now. They use fresh ingredients which is evident in the flavors that come through. The staff and owners were extremely friendly. I wish I lived closer to their restaurant so that I could eat there more often! Thanks for the great food and service!
