Breakfast is obviously not their specialty. Everything was cold and bland, coffee was old. Staff was great, though.

The breakfast is fast/decent in comparison to the other options nearby. The pizza on the other hand, is DELICIOUS. Mostly for smaller groups but definitely worth a try.

we were looking for a brunch place in Unilocal — and found this spot. Unfortunately that’s not a brunch & breakfast more a classical pizza Restaurant. They don’t even have a cappuccino. First time we were wrong guided by Unilocal within the last 30 days. Because we walked around already enough we decided to stay and I took the Bruschetta — which were really good and well presented. So if you are looking for a classical italian food for lunch that might be your choice — but surely not for brunch /breakfast.

Food was great, and reasonably priced. Service started out rocky but recovered for a pleasant time.

Best breakfast pizza ever. It has a gravy base! Crust was light and crispy. Cheese and toppings were delicious! The fact that there were 2 over easy eggs on top was just Over. The. Top. Bringing hubby back here next week! Great service. Nice atmosphere!

We were headed to the Rooster but the line was halfway around the block. Stefano’s is not a place you want to eat breakfast. After you get your plate there is hardly any more service so forget that second cup of coffee. We ordered easy over eggs and received over hard. Hash browns are fried sliced potatoes. In all very disappointed in our experience.

We actually had our rehearsal dinner at Stefano’s as my family came in from out of town while staying at the Renaissance Grand hotel a few blocks away. They were very reasonable and had a great selection of food. All of our family and bridal party members enjoyed the food and were grateful for the excellent service. Highly recommended and would do it again.

The service is quick, friendly and the Patata pizza for breakfast is amazing! I would post a picture, but we devoured it. Will be back the next time we pass through.

Well yet another review about cold food. COLD lasagna and no bread brought or offered in a so called Italian restaurant… At least flavor and presentation were good.

This is a small restaurant downtown that serves pizza and pasta. Went here on a Sunday evening at 6ish pm and we were the only ones in there. The server was nice, not pushy. BF and I each got a glass of wine and a veggie pizza to share. Wine was ok, not excellent and not bad, just non noneventful. The pizza was ok. The dough tasted like it wasn’t all the way cooked to me. It was fine for needing to get something quickly, we were in and out in 45 minutes. But not somewhere I’d just DIE to go, know what I mean? There are other pizza places around downtown that I’d prefer.(Pizzeoli what?)

Wonderful!!! My friend and I are so please we found this hidden gem! The service has been amazing. We got to taste wine and chat with everyone. after our wine tasting I recommend the Malbec — Argentina(Red) or my personal favorite Moscato — Italy(White) with finishes of honey! We ended up ordering a bottle because they are running a special of ½ priced bottles! As far as food goes, we ordered the special which included our sodas and came with wonderful house salads. They had a delicious spring mix(no iceberg here!) with fresh REAL mozzarella cheese and raspberry dressing. Our pizza was fresh hot and delicious! We are beyond happy to have found this place. We absolutely recommend it and will definitely come back when in town!

We skipped the long line at Roosters with the kids and were not disappointed at all! The breakfast pizza was fantastic, but definitely enough for our entire family of four. Definitely worth trying!

Went there for lunch yesterday before the drive home to Chicago. The service was good, but one of the meals that was clearly ordered came from the kitchen as a wrong entrée. OOPS! We started with the minestrone soup being a 17 deg. snowy day in St. Louis I figured that this would be great to warm up with. It was tasty, with a traditional base and fresh vegetables and I would recommend it but it was good, but not great. I ordered a traditional Italian calzone, which came plated on a large plate and took up most of it. The marinara that was served in a small dish plated next to the calzone was a little watery but tasty none the less. The calzone dough was flakey and very buttery and the ham was cut into small cubes instead of shaved as I prefer it and overall the blend of ingredients made for a filling meal. One of our diners ordered the mostaccoli which had fresh zucchini and was delicious. The restaurant serves great meals overall and being that I’m a Chicago boy I am very familiar with great Italian meals. I can share that I would recommend this place if your downtown while in St. Louis. Be sure you do your best to get a table near the edge of the restaurant. Don’t sit near the door on a cold day or you’ll think you’re eating street-side in February. BRRRRRRR!!!

What can I say… the food was outstanding! The prices were moderate, the wine was good and well priced, and I would certainly go.back. Great find in downtown! Had the Buffalo Mozzarella /tomato pizza with roasted garlic. Awesome crust!!!

Just not good. I went for lunch with the Mrs. because we were both craving pasta. We got the pasta con broccoli with chicken. The chicken tasted like it came out of one of those tyson chicken strip baggies you buy for a cheap salad, instead of fresh grilled chicken breast. It was dry, extremely tough and chewy. The pasta wasn’t any better. The shells were extremely overcooked. like, my grandma without teeth would’ve been pleased as punch. The sauce, oh, alfredo sauce, how I love you. This was most definitely not alfredo sauce. It wasn’t creamy, it wasn’t rich… It tasted like milk mixed with chicken stock. The entire dish kind of tasted like it was made with a large amount of chicken stock. If I had to compare it to anything, I’d compare it to a chicken con broccoli lean cuisine. Definitely won’t be back here for pasta. I hear the pizza is decent, but there are so many other options downtown, this probably won’t be on my list to try. For the second star, the service was pretty decent, but good service doesn’t make up for terrible food.

This restaurant was pretty good. We stumbled upon it for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The place was completely empty except for us, but the staff was very attentive and weren’t just sitting around staring at each other even with the lack of customers. Stefano’s was pretty small but quaint. I wouldn’t say it gave off an authentic Italian feel, but it was cozy. They didn’t have the most amazing Italian food I have tried, but it was fairly good. I had the Italian seasoned chicken wrap with tomato basil wrap. It was very good except. The salad was pretty good too and their Italian dressing was very yummy. Overall, there wasn’t anything particularly spectacular about this place, but if you are close by and starved, I would give this place a try.

I was with a bunch of friends in St Louis a while back, and this is a place we just happened to stumble upon downtown for dinner. Very thankful we found this place! It’s just a couple blocks west of the America’s Center on Washington. One of my favorite places I tried in St Louis for the week I was there! I ordered the calamari and a calzone, and I’d have to recommend both. The calamari is just what you’d expect — delicious, fried, light, and tasty. Squeeze on some lemon for flavor and it’s perfect. It was done really well — not rubbery like some places I’ve tried. The calzone, however, just blew me away! You think you’ve had calzones before? Well you’re wrong. You haven’t had a calzone till you’ve tried out Stefano’s. You get to choose your toppings, and I got the grilled steak and onions. Huge and delicious. Great crust, and the steak and onions were done perfectly. Served with marinara sauce on the side as well. This place was a little pricy, but I have to say it was worth it! Really enjoyed eating here!

I don’t think there’s something particularly special about Stefano’s, but I enjoyed my time here. The restaurant has a homey feel about it… really welcoming and quaint. The restaurant’s setting and my experience evoke feelings of warmth. I don’t know why that is, but I know I’d definitely come back if I lived in St. Louis. I wasn’t too hungry, so I ordered an Italian Seasoned Chicken wrap. The dominate flavors were the banana peppers and mozzarella cheese. Pretty tangy. It was tasty, but I got tired of it after finishing half. My friend ordered the calzone, and that sucker looked good. It was huge, so I’d probably recommend sharing if you choose to order that. In addition, we got calamari for the table, and it was a pretty solid dish. The calamari’s a great choice to split among several people. I think our waitress said something to the effect of them cutting up a giant squid to get the pieces for this. The bright spot for me was the soup of the day(came with the wrap). For that day, clam chowder was the soup, and it was rich and hearty. Strong flavors that are normally associated with seafood. If they have this again, I’d recommend ordering it. Other Pros: — Great staff. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful. — Clean restaurant; has several TVs available playing sports — Nice ambiance — Wasn’t too busy on a Monday night; easily got a table for 6 I think I’d rate this place closer to a 3.5 since I didn’t find the food to be that special, but I really appreciated everything else, hence the 4 stars.
