5 starts for the food but 1 star for shady business practices. As close to NY pizza as you can get in ST Louis and the food is really good. With that said not happy that the girl behind the counter told me the cost was $ 28. When I paid with my credit card, she gave me my receipt and it said $ 28.50. I don’t really care about the 50 cents but if there is an extra charge for paying with a credit card, then just say so. Also there is another review on here that cites the same thing.

Do not support this business. I visited once, spent $ 22 after tip. Days later, I have a second charge on my account for $ 60. I visited again to ask them about the charge, gave them my information, they never called back. Visited again to inquire further, asked to see the signed receipt from the $ 60 charge and they told me they don’t keep receipts. I have now found out that there are ATLEAST3 other cases exactly like mine. These people are stealing identities. My bank is now investigating for fraud. It’s a darn shame because their pizza is actually really good.

Hot trash. A slice of wannabe NY garbage pizza cost me almost $ 6 at this sorry excuse for a pizza joint. Just another disappointment here on Washington Ave.

Brilliant! The first thing that places this establishment in the elite realm is its hours of operation. In an urban area of St. Louis(downtown) it is a battle of attrition when it comes to finding somewhere open after hours. That alone is a great feat, this place accomplishes it with ease. Next, the food is priced for all budgets. If you have $ 2.25(USD) you can eat here. The pizzas that are sold as whole pies start around $ 16 – 18(USD) which may seem a bit pricey compared to the national brands. However, once you lay eyes on it you will definitely abandon that notion. I mean, they have two sizes of pizza; large & x-large. Both of which are considerably bigger than any national brand you’ll see a television commercial for. They also offer the classic slice. NY city size(I use my favorite shop in Harlem/Manhattan on 125th as reference. It’s bigger than a paper dinner plate.). Portions are worth every penny and then some. The selection of food is broad(yet specific to a pizza shop. Don’t look for filet mignon or caviar on the menu) and offers something for everyone. Pastas, subs, pizza, wings, calzones, salads, and various appetizers round out the menu. Hot food is served hot and cold dishes are served cold. A drink fountain is an option for refreshments or you can choose a single serving out of the cooler. They don’t charge for water; they charge for the cup;) The food is good! No bland cuisine or overly seasoned entrees here. Just the ideal amount of seasonings and delicious flavor. A simple task that is usually overlooked by other establishments. They offer dine-in, carry out, and delivery(free) for options to get your meal. Delfino’s is a home-run(or touchdown, or slam dunk, or goal. Whatever sport analogy fits for you). It’s not a black tie atmosphere(though it could be if you want it to), but it’s not a run down dive either. The experience is a classic one with a slight modern touch, all located in the heart of downtown St. Louis. Definitely a must go for a quick lunch or a late night retreat before turning in and everything in between. 5 stars easily. *Disclaimer* I am not associated with this establishment, I’m not even from Missouri. I just love great places to eat on all continents. For reference, Port-of-Call and Little Gem Saloon located in New Orleans, LA are 5 star spots for me.

A place that gets over crowded late at night, that serves about average pizza. My new york style cheese slice was burnt on the bottom, which is not the be all end all. They took over a place that had excellent ny style slices. Delfinos also offers subs, wings and other appetizer type foods. Even though they offer delivery, the area is very limited. As far as the service it was nothing to write home about, was impressed but was not insulted.

Bad business practice!!! Warning!!! Welcomed these guys downtown with open arms… first visit I thought it was odd that my total was $ 10.00 even but upon signing my receipt for $ 10.50. Hmm… maybe it was me and I was tipsy I thought. 2nd visit, total was $ 9.78, swipe the card, and POOF!!! $ 10.28. Now I’m annoyed so I ask the girl, what’s up with that!!! Suddenly, she loses the ability to speak English… but I was able to catch bits and pieces of what she was saying. Without hesitation, the head cook, possibly the manager springs into action…“no problem sir, we can fix this for you”. I told them it was sketchy to pass along that cost to customers without warning! Keep my 50 cents, you just cost yourself my business. IF, and I mean IF you were to post a sign with some sort of warning of an upcharge for using a card below a certain $$$ amount then fine. That’s standard at shady gas stations. But to do it on the sly, hope I dont notice, then offer to fix it??? Shame on you Delfinos! Decent product Horrible business eithics!

May want to fix your info. On Unilocal you are under Mexican and if you google map pizza in the downtown area you don’t even come up. First pizza I ordered was good except for the huge black hair in it. It happens. I will try you guys again. Called today to see how the shwarma is and you were out. So far not impressed. Will try once again.

Decent quality pizza. As a native New Yorker I wouldn’t call it NY pizza but it’s better than most of the pizza I’ve had in St. Louis

Love love love that this place has opened up after Empire left! This place fills an important void in downtown for the late night /last call crowd… The pizza is much better than they probably need it to be, but no complaints from me on that. The staff is nice and friendly, and the atmosphere fun. Looking forward to grabbing a slice to go after baseball games again this summer to eat while we stumble home!

With a bit of a buzz, and in need of some solids, I decided to try here. They have several options ready to go by the slice, or you can order fresh from the menu. I got a slice of meat lovers stuffed pizza ready to go. They heated it up, and brought it to my seat. It’s pretty much the same as a calzone, only not as big or the same shape. I was very pleased with what I received! Service was very good, friendly, and attentive, but not to the annoying point. Everything that was already prepared looked appetizing. No beer, but I get the hassle of the license, and suspect most will be coming in just like me, already drinking. I will be back to try some more from the expansive menu.
