Domino’s Pizza

We felt like staying in last night, catching up on OITNB, and decided on Domino’s. We used the new app and voice ordered from «Dom». It was very easy and showed what stage the pizza was in up to Ready. We always get the 2 medium 2 topping for $ 5.99 each. It was a nice cheap night in.

Always delivered hot, quick and accurate.

Ok I’ll admit it. I used to be the biggest Domino’s snob. When school ordered Domino’s for pizza days and pizza parties, I was bummed. I thought, man, those crazy kids will eat ANYTHING. And I do mean ANYTHING. Because the crust was rubbery and flavorless, the cheese was rubbery, the sauce tasted like rubber… it was bad.
Ok I’ll admit. When they started airing those commercials about a «new recipe,» and being so much yummier than before, I was intrigued. I couldn’t help it. Their marketing worked, I took the bait, and one day, I went there on my own. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The crust was yummier, more flavorful, and covered with spices. The cheese tasted fresher. And the sauce tasted better. As it turns out, the marketing wasn’t just marketing… it was true!
I’ve been to Domino’s several times since that day. I eat it on pizza Friday at school (and it’s free AND veggie for teachers-​yay!), I eat it late night sometimes when nothing else is open after class, and sometimes, like tonight, I eat it just because I want some freakin Domino’s. Do I like it as much or eat it as often as Dewey’s or Pi or Red L? No. Is it as tasty? No. This isn’t gourmet pizza. But they have a lot of different options, like pastas and sandwiches and flatbread pizzas, and a few different sauces, and tonight, I got one of their new breads that are stuffed with cheese, and it was REALLY good. It was stuffed with feta, fresh spinach, and mozzarella cheese, and sprinkled with garlic and herbs. When I opened the box, I thought «Holy moly this is gonna be good.» It looked incredible on the outside. But inside it was even better. It was SO cheesy, had a hint of garlic flavor, and was worth a return trip SOON. And considering it’s usually ready in 10 or 15 minutes, you can track your order, you can get it delivered, the new and improved recipe is just that, AND you can get gaaaahlic sauce with it, it’s a great alternative to those fancy shmancy pizza joints. Sometimes.
