Hello my name is Chris I am a famous Unilocal reviewer and I go around looking for the best restaurants in town, and today I’d like to visit Farratos pizza. Let’s get started! I have just ordered plain cheese pizza with a side of spaghetti and meatballs. The cheese is bright orange and the spaghetti looks yummy very very yummy. I’m about ready to take my first bite. The dough is very crunchy I can tell they put it in maybe a little longer than they should have even know it was pretty good because the bottom was black. Now I am eating the cheese pizza bite Yum! Now I am ready to take a bite of the spaghetti and meatballs… Whoa that is very good I am happy that I ordered this I am very happy because this is a great place to visit visit for Rado’s. I am happy that I came here. Now I take another bite of the cheese pizza so I know if it’s consistent. Wow that is very good wow I took another bite, that is very good wow, wow, wow. I am with my colleague Jennifer and we are now going to the bathroom the bathroom is very nice. Yes, you heard me right we are going to the bathroom to knock boots. now my hair is very messed up I am back at the table eating my food Jennifer’s hair is in front of her eyes and I have recently told her and she does not care she does not care at all, she doesn’t care she is just eating her fettuccine Alfredo and she likes it but she doesn’t like it that much so that so I’m going to give this a four. Anyone who didn’t like this is a whore her yes I’m talking to you Jennifer. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. I. Just. Through. Up.

Some of the best pizza and toasted ravs in St. Louis. With their new extended patio, it is a great place to go to in any season.

Farotto’s is located on Manchester near McKnight. It’s an old school Italian restaurant serving casual St. Louis style Italian cuisine. The exterior is inviting with a welcoming frame to the building and Christmas lights along the rooftop, but the entrance situation is confusing. You enter next to the fast food delivery section of the restaurant and through the bar, which is very sloppy and loud. Overall, the interior and menu are tired and dated. The menu has all old standards(pizza, sandwiches, salads, a few entrees — nothing light), but it should also have some fresh new items, as well. I ordered the roasted ½ chicken special with potato medallions and asparagus. the entire meal came out extremely dry and inedible. It should have never been served. I was starving, so I asked for sauce so I could eat it anyway. They chose to replace the meal and I’m happy they did because the replacement was good. Unfortunately, that meant that I had to watch my dining companion finish their meal and wait an additional 20 minutes. I ordered drinks and dessert, none of which were comped for the inconvenience. No one from management came by to apologize or comment. My original plan was to go to Katie’s Pasta and Pizzeria across the street, but the wait was long and we were hungry. Farotto’s had an opportunity to impress and they failed. I won’t be back. I’d like to add the the restaurant has the right bones and has much potential if someone cared to improve it a bit. I hope for their sake that they do.

Simply my favorite place for classic St. Louis style pizza. Real italian sausage and provel cheese — thin delicate crust. Melts in your mouth with authentic St. Louis Hill flavors. Good selection of local craft beers as well, and a modest list of affordable wines. Well worth a visit.

Best St. Louis style pizza in St. Louis. It’s also the best pizza close to Ladue. They have a good, classic ravioli appetizer. Their salads are good though sometimes the amount of cheese you get varies wildly. The most concerning thing about Farrato’s is the rising prices year-over-year. You are definitely paying a premium to go to an Italian restaurant that draws a Ladue and Frontenac family crowd.

Boo… They sold a bunch of Groupon coupons for their Chesterfield Valley location, then closed it,(food quality was always hit & miss) and now they REFUSETOHONORTHEGROUPONS at their Manchester location. That’s just wrong and bad customer service! Here’s hoping this location goes under too with that kind of attitude.

We order Farottos frequently because we think their black and blue chicken pizza is really good. This time when we ordered I asked for a «medium» we picked up our pizza and it was 9″. We paid $ 23 for a pizza with 9 small pieces. I called and spoke with the manager because this 9″ pizza was supposed to feed two people. The manager was rude and called a «mini» pizza and responded«we don’t have a medium size». Clearly on their menu it states they have a 10″, 12″ and 14″ pizza– in the real world I would think that this would a 12″ pizza would mean medium, since it is in the MIDDLE. After the manager argued with me for a few minutes I gave up. She didn’t try to make up for the fact that they clearly screwed up the order. So now… I’m pissed off and still hungry.

Great place and amazing ravs. They have the best toasted ravs in St. Louis. If you’ve never had toasted ravs go here to try them for the first time. Parking not that great but they are expanding so should have more parking soon.

A review is in order after 2 fantastic visits! Both visits were during dinner time and both times were excellent as far as the food and the service go. The parking lot might look like a mess especially if you want the ones right by the entrance because it is right off Manchester Road and there’s always the issue with traffic. However, if you turn right on N. Rock Hill immediately after the restaurant building, you will find that the restaurant has more parking available to the side and the back with more room to maneuver your vehicle around. My first visit, I tried their linguini with clam sauce — fresh baby clams in a white wine garlic butter sauce. I paired it with a glass of house cab. Probably wasn’t the best of pairings but I like Cabernet more than any others. I thought the food was delicious, the service was great and the main dining room wasn’t very full that evening so it was a peaceful dining experience. Then after reading other reviews about their pizza, I wanted to go back and try it and so I did. Sometimes, I am not as adventurous as I would like to think when it comes to food and I do stick with what I know and what I like. So as a general rule, if I want to start out with a salad and I’m not sure how their house dressing is, I normally choose my go-to Italian or ranch dressing. Not this time! I wanted to try their house salad with their house dressing and I found it to be quite flavorful. I couldn’t stop munching on the salad! When my pizza came, it was even better! I ordered a 12″ with Canadian bacon, ham, and red onions. One word: scrumptious. The service was once again wonderful and I had a lovely time even when it was quite a bit busy with a screaming child on the other table. So I am now a believer of Farotto’s enticing offerings and will be adding this place to the regular go-to restaurants in the neighborhood.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Now I live out of town, but ALWAYS stop at Farotto’s when visiting in the STL. Love this place!

Awesome pizza. A STL classic. Ordered at the bar a Sausage, Bacon, Pepperoni, Green Pepper and Mushroom pizza. Nice mix of flavors and texture. Cracker crust. Savory with a hint of sweet. The provel pulls it all together. Friendly staff and very clean place.

This place is a good place. I like the pizza, even better than Imo’s, and that’s a big statement. This is a St. Louis style pizza place, which is my favorite style, and they have a great pie. You will pay for it though, it’s an expensive pizza, but it’s «oh so worth it» every once in a while. I won’t go very often though, too rich for my blood. When I want more affordable pie, I will usually hit up Cecil Whitaker’s. Half the price and ¾ the taste of Farotto’s. I have heard great things about the lasagna, but I have get to try it. Overall a great place to grab pizza. Try it; if you like pizza you will like it.

I’ve had better pizzas elsewhere, and I’ve had better salads elswhere than what they offer. If I want Italian type food or a good pizza, I will go someplace else. I am not a fan so I will never, ever go there again.

Our first time here for dinner on Oct 19th. Daughter enjoyed buttered noodles and bread — she wouldn’t eat the meatball on the side, so it was a good appetizer for my wife and me. Wife and I split a regular/small house salad — pretty typical but with more provel than expected. We split an order of mostaciolli with meatballs — forgot to order it «baked» with the provel melted on it. Good sized entrée with two meatballs which easily fed both of us. Pasta was a little over cooked(not al dente). Sauce was decent/fair, but did not taste homemade. Best part for me were the meatballs. Pros: cute room, nice service, good value. Cons: pretty standard, does not stand out in any way.

I recently tried Farotto’s for the first time. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I always assumed it was a fancy-schmancy restaurant, and those never appeal to me. If I have to dress up to eat dinner, then I’m staying home. My husband assured me it wasn’t, and it wasn’t. It was just an Italian restaurant. Phew. Farotto’s menu isn’t huge, but they have plenty from which to choose. They offer appetizers, salads, minestrone soup, sandwiches, pizza, and pasta. They also have a few entrees(e.g., chicken parmesan), but those are available only after 5PM. My husband had spaghetti, which I tasted. It was good and had plenty of sauce. I went with Farotto’s Duo. I was there for lunch, but the menu doesn’t say anything about that being a lunch-only special. Therefore, I assume it is available all day. From the name, you probably can tell it’s a «pick 2» kind of thing. First, you choose from half spaghetti, half mostaccioli, half meatball or roast beef sandwich, half regular or toasted ravioli, or a 10″ one-topping pizza. Then, you choose a bowl of soup, house salad, pasta salad, or fruit salad. For $ 10.99, you get your two selections and a soda. That’s not a bad deal. I chose a 10″ pepperoni pizza and a house salad. The pizza was fine, but it could have been much hotter. I think you can tell from my picture that I’m not kidding about that. Let’s talk about that salad, though. The only house salad I saw in the salad section of the menu was«Farotto’s House,» which was described as «iceberg and green leaf lettuce mixed with tomatoes, pepperoncinis, Sicilian green and Kalamata olives, and provel cheese.» I assumed the salad was going to be tossed in some kind of house dressing because the menu did not list any dressing choices. I was kind of excited about the salad, but what I received was lettuce, one sliced cherry tomato, and cheese tossed in dressing. Don’t get me wrong. It was good in its simplicity. I just feel like it should have been described as a side salad rather than a house salad. Service was fine; I can neither brag nor complain. I suppose the only thing that might be a disadvantage is the parking. I feel sorry for those who go at a busy time and end up parking in the spaces that back out onto Manchester. I parked on the side and was able to easily back out onto the side street. I give my food a 3.5. The pizza was okay, but it was just warmish from the get-go. It’s not my favorite STL-style pizza. The salad was tasty, but I feel duped. :) I’d be tempted to round down to 3 stars, but the food was reasonably priced. I’d go back to Farotto’s, and I’d probably get pasta next time. I love pasta with lots of sauce, and I hope my next order will be as good as my husband’s was.

My favorite St. Louis style pizza! I love the provel and the fried provel sticks were great too. I live in Michigan so when I’m in town I eat as much STL pizza as I can. This trip we had Farotto’s, Dewey’s and Lou Boccardi’s. Boccardi’s is a really close second but I like Farotto’s sauce and the spiciness of their sausage the best. I also like it that it’s a little well done. We were a little early for the lunch rush on Friday and the service was fine, but the waitress seemed kind of frazzled.

Don’t understand the big hype about their pizza. I had the lunch special with a side salad and 10″ pizza. Salad was your typical St. Louis style Italian side salad with the right ratio of lettuce and toppings. The pizza came out and it looked just as disappointing as it tasted. It resembles an Jmo’s pizza but lacked flavor and the toppings were skimpy. Definitely won’t be back at my own will.

Not gonna lie, parking here gives me anxiety especially because you’re basically pulling out onto Manchester, as others have pointed out. I ordered the red pesto tortellini. I guess I would say it was A-OK but nothing mind-blowing. I honestly believe the pasta sauce I made myself at home a few weeks prior was much tastier but maybe I only like a very specific type of sauce. There wasn’t much basil flavor in this at all, though I did see pieces of basil mixed in with the marinara. The pasta itself was a bit overcooked and in general somewhat bland. I feel like I could have made this same dish myself and it would have been more to my liking. I asked for cheese to sprinkle on top but even the cheese didn’t rescue this dish. It was just too bland/boring for me. :(The cheese they brought out for me to sprinkle on top had more flavor than the cheese inside the tortellini itself. Maybe the pizza here is really good or something??? If I ever came back, I’d try it. Service was really good, A+, no complaints there. It’s just that nothing on the menu sounded good to me at all, and the stuff I did get was just meh. I ate about 1⁄3 of it and didn’t take the rest home. I didn’t complain or anything. It’s not like it was horrible, just boring. I didn’t want to waste the rest of my calories on it. Food was affordable considering the large quantity you get but sometimes I’d rather have a smaller portion of food that’s higher quality in terms of flavor, texture, and ingredients vs a large quantity of something bland/unexciting. Anyway it wasn’t a terrible experience but I really doubt I’d come back here again… maybe if they put something like lobster ravioli on the menu, but even then, I’d be worried they’d overcook the pasta.
