I love this place! Food is good, and CHEAP! Friendly service. Make sure you bring cash, though. They don’t take credit or debit.

Generals chicken and crab Rangoon were hits with our party of 8, but the sweet and sour pork not a single person enjoyed. Soggy and old tasting. Too expensive for what we received.

Come here and come here often! I’d rather have a meal here than a fancy Chinese restaurant. BTW: I almost never give 5 stars. I love the orange chicken and my wife eats the sesame chicken. Always fresh and 90% of the time the lady that takes your order is the same person. She is sweet and I always tip. Super fresh, super reasonable almost cheap. Don’t tell them but if they raise their prices 50% I would still come. It’s that good. Only negatives is the building/atmosphere and credit is NOT taken. Go to the ATM and thank me later. The bathroom stinks and it’s certainly a dive. A very VERY awesomely tasty dive.

This is my favorite place in St. Louis. I’ve been going here regularly for the past four years. They are consistently good, fast, and cheap. Call ahead and get your order to go! The inside of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, but the food is amazing. I wish they’d update their venue because I think they’d do even more business than they do now. My boyfriend and I love the chicken broccoli combo with Rangoon and egg drop soup. We are moving in two weeks and are very sad to have to say goodbye to Dingho!

Food is fresh and tasty. I had the General Taos chicken All Day Plate. The chicken was freshly made and the rice was fluffy. My spouse had Garlic chicken. She liked it. They do NOT take credit cards or debit cards. CASHONLY. Eating in. Plastic ware is cheap picnic stuff. Overall. Good food for the price. Service fast. I would eat here again.

I have passed by Dingho a number of times and never really gave it much thought until the past weekend when I needed a quick bite to eat before meeting some friends and I figured why not give it a try. I arrived shortly after 5pm on a Saturday to find an empty dining room, however the friendly woman behind the counter was friendly and took my order. Prices were reasonable, with two entrees, two soups, and an order of crab rangoon costing less than $ 25. I should also note that Dingho is cash only, so you can leave your plastic at home since it’s not welcome here. For my meal I started off with an order of Egg Drop Soup, which was served in a large styrofoam cup, the portion size was very generous in fact I even had leftovers. For my entrée I went with the Hot Braised POrk, which was served an another styrofoam plate, however it was filled with pork, again the portion size was large enough that I ended up taking some home along with the plate of rice. Kudos to the staff they really are fair with their offerings! The table ended up splitting an order of crab rangoon, overall it was good but it could have used more filling and probably just a few less seconds in the fryer. Overall the pork itself was good, however it’s starting to become even more and more difficult for good Chinese food to stand out, my initial impression was that it was good, but not my favorite choice. Overall my initial impression was favorable, however the inside could use some touching up as it was clearly dated and slightly worn with the building showing its age. My recommendation is order carry out because the dining room has little to no atmosphere.

DONTEATATDINGHO! I ordered the Szechuan Beef and it was ok but the fried rice tasted old. My wife ordered Sesame Chicken and if you have ever eaten it its kind of a sweet dish but it was so salty we just threw it away, no sweetness whatsoever. Very disappointed. I would have given it zero stars but I didn’t have that option.

Our favorite place for Chinese food. We have never had a bad meal here. The combo platters are plentiful and inexpensive, as are the ala cart items. I am a big snob about hot and sour soup — I cannot praise it enough! Whenever I ask the kids if they want Chinese food for dinner, I get a resounding«DINGHO!» Yes, you have to pay in cash, but a trip to the ATM is worth it. And when you call your order in, and are told that it will be ready in 10 minutes, it IS ready in 10 minutes. Dingho is a jewel of a place, try it and see.

I gave this restaurant a 2nd chance, just to be fair. I order hot&sour soup to start. However, this soup is not acceptable as hot&sour soup. They use a lot of black pepper to make it spicy hot. The soup itself contains carrots & water-chestnuts which are not belonged in this soup. The tofu portion is good. There is no shiitake mushrooms! I tried my best to eat it but had to throw more than half away. After this, I did not want to waste my money. So, I did not order the entrée.

Clerk was confused on the offerings and sure enough, order was not right when I got home. Keep in mind I live 2 miles from the restaurant, food was already cold. Not kind of warm, but cold. Almost as if it was served off a buffet similar to a chain like Panda Express(except more expensive). Orange Chicken(at least that’s what I think it was… since that wasn’t my order) was soggy and consisted of mostly breading. No vegitables, no orange peel, just semi-friend chicken in some kind of brown sauce. The chicken fried rice appeared to be nothing more than steamed rice with a few pieces of that canned chicken stuff… in a Styrofoam cup. Absolutely dreadful. $ 10.85 for a bunch of ineditable food. All went in the trash and eating cereal for dinner I think I’ve been Ding-dupped Wish China 1 wasn’t closed on Tuesdays. Definitely won’t be back to Dingho

I think I finally found a quick Chinese place in my area! Everything tasted really good. My family had Hot Braised Chicken, Beef Lo Mein, Pot Stickers(which were surprisingly great for take out), Crab Rangoon(little dry), and hot and sour soup(). The portion size was good, very reasonably priced, and quick. The place is a little dingy, but that didn’t bother me much. I just wish they took cards and delivered.

St Paul Sandwich for a St. Paulite? Back years ago, at a burger establishment in St Paul they actually had a St. Paul Sandwich on their menu. I’m almost certain I’m the only one who ever ordered since it didn’t last long on said menu, so I’ve been on the hunt ever since. We were in town for a weekend to catch a game and see the sights of STL. Originally planned to go to Park Chop Suey, but when we arrived on a Saturday around 1:00, the place was deserted — closed, no cars, no lights, nothing. While we were standing outside deciding how to walk back to our hotel, since we took the metro and walked across the bridge, another gentleman and his 2 kids walked up and were disappointed they were not open either. I was set on a St. Paul Sandwich while I was in town and dammit I was gonna get one. We went back to the hotel, got the car and headed to Dingho. Thanks Steven B for your assistance BTW. Place was quiet — 2 workers, 2 dudes out doing landscaping, 1 customer inside. We ordered our St. Paul Sandwiches egg rolls and something to drink. I thought about getting more, but it was hot, I wasn’t super hungry and we had dinner reservations for later that night. Food came quick, which is good cuz the place filled up after we arrived. Sandwich was great, or at least we really enjoyed it. Simple, tasty and filling. White bread, a big patty, lettuce, tomato, mayo, salt and pepper — almost everything we never eat at home. A good filling lunch for pretty darn cheap. Oh, and if you order a large diet pepsi, it is actually 2 cans in a big Styrofoam cup, which struck me as funny.

The parking lot looks empty but they have a huge carry out business. I walked in with a woman who was picking up a large bag of food for four. Before I could choose what to order another woman came in and picked up her order. They have vegetarian items which brought me in today. Before I could finish this review I had my food and another couple came in to get their to go order. Very nice staff.

Pluses: 1) Local neighborhood Chinese take out 2) Fair pricing 3) Lots of bang for your buck! 4) Measures up to Chinese food from New York Minuses: 1) Cash only 2) Their lo-mein noodles are spaghetti :( We eat here at least twice a month, its fast and good. The people working there are very nice(Family owned) and speak rather good English which is important when ordering! This is one of my Faves!

If not for a recommendation, I never would have tried Dingho. From the outside it looks like a cheap, greasy-spoon type Chinese take-away. You know, not good. But by virtue of the logic that they can’t be attracting many customers with their storefront, but something has kept them in business for years and years, I figured it was probably the food. It is. It’s surprisingly good. We had crab Rangoon, War Sue Gai and General Tso’s Chicken(large portions), $ 19.90. The Rangoon was pretty generic, I’ll admit. But the War Sue Gai and General Tso’s were both all white meat, not overly breaded, and not swamped in too sweet sauce. I am a General Tso’s snob and will be going again. I was pleasantly impressed. So, Dingho, go or no, no, no? Definitely a GO.

To be honest, I HATEEVERYSINGLEORANGECHICKENPLACEINST. LOUIS besides THISPLACE. I finally found that golden chinese restaurant that is «the place» for me. I have a very high standard taste of orange chicken and to be honest this place matches places in Chicago. I love this place. It is very lowkey and the prices and portions are perfect. More people should come here more often.
