I will preface this review by saying that chinese food preference is highly subjective! The staff at Taste of China is quite pleasant and the restaurant is nice and clean. However, I was not pleased with the food. I ordered chicken fried rice with sprouts, crab rangoon and veggie egg rolls. The rice was bland at best. It tasted like they put white rice in a wok with small pieces of chicken and sprouts then added soy sauce to it right before putting in the box. The flavors didnt meld. The crab rangoon weren’t bad at all. I personally prefer them a tinge sweet, but that’s what sweet and sour sauce is for right?! The veggie egg rolls were greasy and tasteless. I will not be back to the Taste of China. My favorite overall Chinese food place is still Chong Wah on Lindell. Hope this helps.

I have been coming to A Taste of China since I was a little girl. I have tried almost everything they have and the quality is superb! Throughout the years one would think the business would have changed portion size, altered the recipes and/or the menu but they have not. This is hands down the best Chinese place in St. Louis!

Saw that this had 5 stars so we decided to try it. being from the northeast, where the Chinese food is the best, we have a hard time finding somewhere decent… the egg rolls were soft not crispy, the chicken was bland, the beef and broccoli no good, the sauce for the pot stickers was thick. thick? Needless to say we will not be back!

This is my favorite place to go for chinese food! The lady cashier is super friendly and welcoming. Their lunch special is from 11 to 2pm and is fairly price for the quantity of food they put on the dish. I always get the hot braised chicken lunch special or the kung pao chicken.

Great tasting Chinese takeout. We’ve eaten here for years. The owners are very clean and meticulous about what meat and veggies are going into their dishes. I know that first hand because my wife worked for these folks back in college about 15 years ago. They were always concerned about their customers and about their consistency of their product. We’ve continued to visit them since and they uphold their same values. I can always count on getting a dish with fresh ingredients. I love their pork fried rice and pot stickers. Besides Chinese, they also make great tasting St. Paul sandwiches.
