This is our favorite Greek restaurant in St Louis. My wife loves the Greek salad here, I love everything here. Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Saganaki(awesome), and basically anything else that is on the menu. Everything we ordered was great. My mother in law visited us from Japan and never had Greek before. Well, she is now a fan.

Nice cheerful and clean interior. I always enjoy eating in here because of several tables you can ask for near windows facing Gravois that make for an enjoyable view and nice natural lighting. Food is reliably good – I like the gyro salad. service is usually pretty good, although one time there was a hiccup with them honoring a reservation I had made for a birthday dinner. Fortunately, they did come through, but it was little disappointing that they seemed to have forgotten to write down the reservation or something.

I celebrated my very first International Supper Club here with some other fantastic Unilocalers! And I’m so glad I finally made it out to one of these! Especially one with Greek food, a new love of mine! I opted for the Gyro Salad, but they allowed me to sub some tzatziki in place of the dressing. I got quite a decent serving of meat and veggies — enough to take home some left-overs! Everything was delicious!

International Supper Club. Really I should just leave with those three words. Sarah once again hits a home run. The service for 14 people with individual checks and of course different selections. Our server place every order to the correct person without asking. Great Job! Being a Greek place I was very happy to order a Greek salad and the lamb shank. While the picture of the shank looks huge and there was ample meat on the bone it was by no means able to feed a family of four. It fed just me and I left wanting to come back and get some different dishes. Most importantly this is a value place with value pricing and outstanding service and outstanding food.

Bumping them up a star based on last night’s ISC experience. Here’s how they earned the extra star: 1. We were the first ones there. When we got there, we discovered that the area where they were planning to seat us was very cramped. We asked if we could rearrange a bit and add another table so we wouldn’t be sitting in each other’s laps. They graciously agreed, and helped us rearrange. Not all places have a good set up for a large party, and its nice that a place will actually work with you to give you the space that you need. 2. Second time here with a large party paying separately, and second time the waitress performed like a champ. 2 for 2 on this one is impressive… 3. They had my favorite Greek dish(stuffed tomato and pepper) on special and it was delicious! They even gave me extra stuffing on the plate. ISC is always a fun time with a great group of people and last night was no different.

I had the pleasure of experiencing Apollonia’s during an ISC event. Let me preface by saying aside from hummus I am usually not a Greek food eater however, I must say, I enjoyed Apollonia’s tremendously. It could’ve been the ambiance which was quaint yet inviting, a full bar decorated for the holiday season’s cheer, the immaculate restroom, delicious food, splendid service or the absolutely amazing group of Unilocaler’s surrounding me! Whatever the reason I am now a fan of a new Greek dish, Shrimp Saganaki. Saganaki consisted of succulent grilled shrimp over a bed of sautéed vegetables in a white wine & tomato sauce topped with premium feta cheese and served with soft, warm, light pita bread(did you get all that). Ummm ummm ummm! This $ 8.50 dish was pretty priceless in my book. The hummus was authentic; I could taste my beloved chickpeas in every bite. The texture was light and delicate. The warm pita made this an astonishing starter dish. Apollonia’s, you have a new fan. ~Christy

Best chicken souvlaki I’ve had in a long time. Juicy and tender chicken, soft pita and great Tzkati sauce, served with steaming hot fries. And of course an order of baclava!

I’ve never had a bad meal from here. Often, I call in my order for pickup(if I’m not in the mood to dine in), and it is always ready within 10 – 15 minutes. I normally get the lamb souvlaki(it’s my favorite). But everything is always good. If you are going to do an appetizer my favorite is the ½ and ½ with red dip and hummus, delicious. Equally delicious is the flaming cheese. For dessert you can’t go wrong with baklava!!! I’ve been coming here for at least 5 years, not sure why I never left a review… Also service is always friendly, and it is a great date spot!

I love this restaurant and have been going here for 10 years. I am however, concerned about the staff. Behar, the owner, doesn’t seem to understand that when you can’t enjoy your dinner because staff are arguing so loudly, people will eventually stop«tolerating» it and will go somewhere else. It seems no one is driving this ship anymore and it sucks, because I could eat here every day. Except now, I avoid it because I don’t care to listen to the yelling and bickering. I hope some changes and training will be made soon so I can recommend this gem in confidence again! Ps — not all of the staff does this, mostly one. Contact me if you want more info.

Moved back to the Lou and came here last night for the first time in 5 years. Nothing has changed — ANDTHAT’S A GOODTHING! Got the baba ghanoush and red pepper dip as an appetizer. Perfectly warmed pita bread was served alongside Mythos Greek beer. He got a gyro and I went with a Greek salad and my loved spanikopita. This place will always be one of my favorites. There’s not much more I can say that hasn’t been said in a previous review — best date night, ever!

Came here for lunch with a group of six. Seated right away, but only one waitress(who was very nice), so it took about fifteen minutes before we placed our order. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes for the food to come out, and it was all wrong. Our order got completely messed up. Our waitress tried correcting it, but we were so hungry we didn’t care so we just ate what was brought out to us. It seemed like other customers were having problems with service too. A gentleman who looked like the manager peeked out from the back a couple times, but did not jump in to help customers. We could even hear him yelling at our poor waitress in the back. To be fair, the food was really good. The experience was unfortunately not enjoyable.

Best greek/med food I’ve had in a long time. The presentation of food was beautiful. The staff were awesome. Went with Mediterranean sampler so my friend and I could try a lil of everything. The dolmades were to die for. And authentic gyros. They don’t skimp on portions or fresh ingredients. Restaurant really nice quiet and quaint. Totally recommend can’t wait to go back

Best Greek place I’ve been to in a while! Maybe the best I’ve been to in St. Louis. First of all, you have to get a small Greek salad with whatever you order! They make the dressing in house and it has the perfect balance of vinegar and oil without being overwhelming or too acidic. I tried the homemade sausage that came with a very nice tzatziki sauce. My girlfriend had a regular Gyro and it was amazing. Prices are so great this will become a regular spot for us. Without drinks, 2 people can have a meal for $ 20 or so including tip. Service was amazing too and food came out quickly. I definitely recommend this place for their sandwich menu alone. It’s Greek street food at its finest with excellent service!

I stopped in here for dinner around 7pm on a Monday night a few weeks ago. Its a cute little restaurant and I sat in a booth on the bar side of the restaurant. When I arrived there were only two other occupied tables on my side but as I dined more and more tables started filling up. I ordered the moussaka. I’ve been to several Greek restaurants and I can’t say this version is anything special. It was suitable but looked like it had been reheated and the meat was on the drier side. Service was fine but again nothing special. All in all: Fine, but I’d probably check out other Greek establishments in the area before going back here.

I came here for lunch during the work week. The food was great! We ordered the Flaming Cheese appetizer which was awesome! I also ordered the Steak Burger with Soup and they gave me the steak fries for free because they accidentally made them. Everything tasted great! And it was soo much food! Even with the free fries, you get more than enough food for the prices. Pita Bread WASSODELICIOUS. ‘ There was only one waitress working the whole restaurant while we were there. And it took awhile to get us our check but she was a super hard working and very accommodating towards us. I would love to come back and try their dinner and drink specials!

I visited Apollonia over lunch on a Wednesday with a group of four. There was plenty of seating available and the friendly waitress greeted us from behind the bar and told us to seat ourselves. The atmosphere is laid back and the décor a cross between rustic gothic and a Mexican restaurant. The lighting is perfectly dim, which provided a cool relief from the hot weather. The seating and tables were clean, as was the general appearance of the whole restaurant. I ordered the gyro salad. Some pieces of the gyro meat were dried out and overcooked. There was just the right amount of dressing on the salad and it was served with 4 pieces of perfectly doughy pita. The saganaki was too heavily breaded and fried for too long, making it difficult to cut and the texture too crispy. However, they served three pieces, which is more than you’d get at another restaurant. The waitress was friendly and timely. She took our orders quickly without fuss and all the orders were correct. She was the only person serving at the time and rushed around to make everyone happy, apologizing for making us wait for our checks while she prepared drinks for a party of ten. She kept our waters full throughout the meal.

Thanks again to the Unilocal International Supper Club, I experienced a new restaurant. I’m always open to enjoying some new Greek cuisine. Tonight I wasn’t that hungry, so I ordered a Gyro Salad. It was a large and I do mean large Greek Salad. It was a hearty portion of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red onion, green pepper, kalamatra olives, crumbled feta cheese, tossed in their house made dressing and topped with gyro meat. It was a low-carb friendly meal in a bowl. It was served with toasted pita bread, for those who are not eating low-carb. The meat was tender and tossed in the perfect amount of dressing. This was one of the better Greek Salads I’ve had with Gyro meat. Apollonia has a great location, it is just half a block from the intersection of Gravois & Loughborough. If you do not nab one of the prime parking spots on Gravois in front, don’t worry there is a prime parking lot behind the restaurant with a walkway directly to the front entrance. The service was a little slow, I think our server was overwhelmed with a party of twelve. Even with the help of a co-worker our orders came out of the kitchen at a slow pace. However, they were extremely friendly and hospitable making Apollina worthy of a future visit.

Wow! Hidden gem, for sure! I brought International Supper Club here, and I am mad at myself that I haven’t tried it sooner. First, let’s start with the pita bread. THEBEST I’ve had in STL. So yummy! I started with a Greek salad — also amazing. Ample amounts of feta, pita to soak up extras, flavorful dressing. Loved it. I also snagged a bite of saganaki(flaming cheese) and greatly enjoyed it! I got the spanakopita. It was delicious! Two large pieces with a side of tzaziki for dipping. Definitely tasted fresh — flaky pastry rather than chewy, lots of spinach and feta taste. I couldn’t eat it all and took some home. The service was great — despite having a group of 12 and there being other diners(and one waitress). She was totally on our needs, got things out fast, flamed the cheese, processed checks. it was awesome. I WILLBEBACK. SOON!
