The sushi burrito was delicious! I had the mgm and they packed it pretty full with salmon. If you’re in a hurry I’d recommend calling in, it’s a small place and they were busy when I got there. I will definitely be back!

This is a tiny gem in a part of town with little to offer in the way of cuisine. I had originally been skeptical(book by its cover) but worked across the street so eventually a coworker took me. The first thing I had was the calamari. Excellent. most everything I have had there is quite good but what truly makes a place stick out for me is the combination of food and company. The staff is friendly, funny and creative. The customers are the same. I have had many good conversations and laughs with total strangers in there. Or you could choose the drive through option. If you have a larger(4 or more) order, I would recommend calling first. especially at lunch rush. Good food, good people, good fun.

I love sushi. But I also love burritos! This place has the best of both worlds and I’m not talking about Hannah Montana. I was really surprised how small this place was, which can fit about 4 – 5 people max. I heard how popular this place was so I had to try it myself. I ordered the Mt. Hood sushi burrito and it was amazing. Salmon, crab, and all the veggies? I couldn’t ask for more. And man oh man, their wasabi sauce was tasty as well. I was a but disappointed that the salmon in my sushi burrito was cooked. I believed it would have been more tasty if raw. Nonetheless, the food is good, surprising good for being in Springfield. The service was very quick and the chefs and cashiers were more than delightful. A bit on the expensive side but it’s worth it!

Wow, it’s been almost 2 years since my first visit! Since then they’ve came out with the Sushito! Amazing! Of you like sushi you have to go and try one. They will blow your mind. I love the Caribbean! The rolls are just as good as ever. Often times we just tell Toby or Dan to make us a surprise roll for X amount. Never been disappointed!

Big fan of this place. Cute and quaint, great prices and the staff is awesome. My only suggestion would be to add a couple more vegetarian options to the menu. :)

Ummm. Sushi. Burrito??? Best combo ever!!! The concept is great, the sushi, greater. I think this may be the best sushi place in town. And now they are expanding to Eugene which is awesome. Also I thought the staff was awesome too. My family and I went in there tonight at 8:30(they close at 9) hoping to still get food. They were so awesome about it and even encouraged us to stay to eat. Sushido fo’ life! Thank you!!!

Just had my first Unami experience after hearing so much about it, and this joint doesn’t disappoint. I was greeted by super helpful and friendly staff that had great recommendations from the menu, so A+ on service. The Ingredients taste fresh and are just packed into the sushito. The price is right for the portion size and quality, and after just one visit I know I’ll be back for more. Awesome job, Abby and crew!

So just went here for the third time. Sadly(but truly gladly) they are next to the gym I go to. So I go and work out and then ruin it all by eating here. that is truly a win win in my book! These guys rock it big time with their amazing Sushiritos. Everything looks and tastes fresh and is made to order(all of which is very important when we’re talking sushi). So far I have tried 6 different menu items and they have all been on point and awesome! This place is very small and definitely isn’t too dine in friendly(there’s a few seats inside and a couple of outside tables too). This is not to say that the owners discourage you from dining there, it’s just cramped and really a matter of preference on the customers part. By the way the owners here are really friendly. This is truly the gem of Main st. in Springfield.

Sushi burritos… Yes! Definitely worth it! I stumbled upon this randomly searching for a quick bite. Great little place to eat at or order to go. Limited seating inside, but they do have some outdoor tables. All staff very friendly and gave great suggestions. Ordered the GINGERSAKE sushi burrito. Wow… Absolutely delicious! Yum.

I want so badly to like this place. It is notable as being the only sushi place on this side of Springfield. Let me emphasize that. THEONLYONE. Which makes it pretty special, but doesn’t make up for some concerns that I have about the place, all of which are safety/cleanliness related. Let me state that I’ve never gotten sick from eating there(having been more than once), I’ve not heard of anyone becoming sick from their food, but from what I’ve witnessed I think that it’s just waiting to happen. During my last visit, I went to try a sushi burrito. There was a bit of a wait and it was crowded. While I waited I was standing in the front watching what was going on in the kitchen. I’ll be frank, the kitchen looks kind of dirty. I don’t know if it’s just from not enough lighting, or something, but the fact is… it doesn’t look clean. In a place that small, with an easy view of the cooking areas; it had better look spotless. This next bit appalled me a little. The guy on the stove scraped gunk off of the grill with a spatula… that’s ok I guess. To my horror he then scraped the greasy gunk off of the spatula onto the metal side of the grill where you could see all of the other nastiness that had gotten scraped off onto there for who knows how long. Just ew. The accumulation of gross on the metal there looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time; you could see where bits of it that were still liquid had run down the metal. I understand that grills need to have the crap scraped off of them. I know that that’s gross. But do you have to rub it off right back onto the side of the grill? Get a specific bucket or something for that, not a place clearly visible to whomever is watching. Had the above not happened I probably wouldn’t have questioned the general cleanliness of the place. This week has been hot, which then leads me to my next issue. The walls and everything in the front is black and really makes the place hotter than necessary. It makes me wonder about how the fish is kept cold enough, specifically the fish in the front. I mean I know it’s refrigerated, but with how hot it gets inside the place, it makes me doubt the whole operation. In all, I have no problem with the people working there and I am in fact kind of proud that they’ve been open for as long as they have since their location has cycled through sooooo many different places. I want them to succeed; kind of in a selfish way though because I really like sushi. I don’t want them to get shut down for sanitation issues, and I myself don’t want to get sick. Best of luck to you guys!

I love Unami! I first found out about this place from an article I read on Facebook from this food organization called Spoon University. I am a sushi fanatic and was intrigued by the uniqueness of this place. The invention of the sushido«sushi burrito» is genius. I’m now obsessed! The sushido’s are large enough to fill you up. They are always made with fresh fish and its delicious. My favorite sushido is called the Samurai. I am a frequent customer and the staff is always acknowledging and welcoming me back. They make it personal and always appreciate you no matter who you are. Make sure to check this place out. It’s a small place but everything inside of it is worth it. I promise you will not regret it.

Let me start off by saying, I’m a recent transplant who went from the Bay Area, to Reno, and now to Eugene. We’ve only been here a week, and while everything gets unpacked we’ve been eating out… a lot. I haven’t been impressed by the food we’ve had thus far, and that says so much considering the Reno food scene is a bit lackluster if you’re not into sketchy casino food and buffets. At Unami, though, dear whatever-you-find-holy! I had the Ginger Sake sushido and I ate every last bit! I didn’t have any preconceived notions on what to expect other than the concept of the«sushido» sounded quite intriguing. I am completely in love, though! It’s very obvious that everyone there absolutely LOVES what they do, even down to the girls who take your order. Not only were they joking with each other, but the overheard conversations about Mario Part and Mario Kart were just more proof that I moved to the right state(thank you random Klingon in full security gear waiting at the bus stop, and kudos to the other guy who completely geeked out at my license plate… you both made my day!). Now, back to the sushido… The sweet soy reduction is amazing. The consistency is of rich honey, and it’s a nice clear amber; there are no imperfections in this sauce. It has the perfect amount of salty-sweet so it doesn’t overpower your food(dare I say that umami is present here?!). The sushido itself was the perfect portion size, and didn’t stuff me so much that I was sick, but didn’t leave me wanting more food. I was completely satiated. The owner is on top of his textures, as well, and it’s very clear that EVERY layer in these suckers is comprised of exactly what is necessary and they’re in just the right place. The tempura on the shrimp, and the shrimp itself, were perfection! Perfectly cooked, not overdone, and spectacularly crispy. As we waited for our food, several people who came in were obviously regulars. The staff knew who they were, what they regularly ordered, and chatted with them like they were old friends. I fully intend on becoming one of those people! The only thing I can knock them on, is the lack of seating. We’ve only been once, and we live about 10 to 15 minutes away… so I’m not sure how well these things travel. Eating inside isn’t really an option as they’re super small and only have 4 stools inside. Outside, the seating is limited as well, to I think… 3(?) patio tables. I would love to see a little more outdoor seating. I can’t WAIT to go back!

For a hole in the wall looking place, it was amazingly good! The sushi-burrito rolls are great. My boyfriend and friend had the black widow which were both great. I had the ling-ling and it too was off the chain good! I would definitely recommend this place. Only a few chairs inside do plan to get it to go unless it’s a nice day and then there are some tables outside. If I lived near this place, I would probably get something once a week! Great idea and business model. Help were super friendly and were there to please… GOTRYTHISPLACE!

I was a bit skeptic to try a Sushi Burrito. I had heard about this hole in the wall for weeks now, and had to find out for myself. When I walked into the little place, it was clean and neat. It had a great vibe to it. Chef Joey made us feel at home and explained what a Sushito was, and that this is the only place to get them in Oregon. We ordered 2 different Sushtos. my friend ordered the #BaconSushito and I tried a bite and it was incredible! I wish I could tell you what the name of the one I ordered but it had battered shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, cucumber, mango wrapped in a delish rice roll surrounded by rice paper. What an explosion of delight! It was a bit spendy for a quick lunch hole in the wall, but I wouldn’t say it was spendy for the quality of the food and the service was up to par! I am planning trip out there next week! :)

As you’ve probably heard, sushiritos are the hot item. Everything is freshly cut & prepared right in front of you, there’s no artificial or premade crap(thank god.) So far I’ve had the Black Widdow, Big Foot & California sushirito and plan to try several more. Big foot has been my favorite just because of the amount of fish you get plus I like a little spice. I would recommend trying something other than the Cali roll only because you can get a plain roll anywhere and to get the full experience I believe you should order a specialty roll — trust me they know what they’re doing. Staff is also very, very friendly. Because the rolls take awhile to make, I easily held a 10 – 15 minute conversation with all of the staff members. I would recommend coming in either right at opening when they’re not too busy or calling in your order.

Sushito is sha shitty, some food shouldn’t be merged and this is an example. I’ll never eat this again… Even if I was starving… Everything else was excellent Nigiri, the spring rolls, service and pricing all excellent

After wandering into a Sushirrito in San Francisco last year, my husband and I were intrigued. Sushi + Burrito? How awesome of a concept! We both agreed that this food would be extremely popular back in Portland. We made several attempts to contact the owner of Sushirrito, but never received a response. As far as I know, there still isn’t a place in Portland taking on the Sushi Burrito business. So when I accidentally ran across Unami in Springfield while traveling for work, I was extremely surprised to find someone doing this in such a small town. My first time in, the owner was super friendly and we chatted up how he got into this and his plans for the future. His concoctions and flavors are Fantastic. I brought a co-worker with me on my last visit who doesn’t like Fish or any Seafood, so she ordered one of the Veggie Sushi Burritos. She was as impressed as I was. *Tip* Call in your order before you arrive. These take some time to make and this place is real small. So you will save yourself some time by preordering. I hope someone finally brings this kind of stuff to Portland soon…

What an odd find. This is a tiny building with just five seats, a couple of outside tables, and zero atmosphere. It does most of its business in take-out. It even has a drive-through window. Who thought that drive-through sushi was a good idea? Whoever it was has more culinary imagination than I do. It’s run rather strangely as well. Three chefs work at the sushi station, with one on window duty and taking care of payment. No other waitstaff is on duty. The two men and one woman working when we arrived on a Friday obviously have some ambition for themselves and this business, but have limited resources, so they run a bare bones operation on Springfield’s main drag well away from the town center. You have to admire their chutzpah. Their food is pretty good too. DLW had combo with nigiri and scallop roll. Served on a plank with the usual wasabi and ginger, it was good quality. The draw for me was«sushido,» sushi rolled in a big rice paper burrito-style with wasabi infused dipping sauce. I had the Samurai, tuna and avocado with veggies and rice in a paper-thin wrap. What a fun idea, and perfect for take-out. Soft drinks only, and practically no attention to dine-in experience cut into our enjoyment of the place, but this would be great for a quick bite at lunch or take-home dinner on a night when no one wants to cook.
