Normally love this place, but this time the food was very plain. Almost no taste. My wife and I had completely different items and experienced the same. Then toward the end of my lunch, I noticed my water glass had a huge pink lipstick stain on the top. I told our waiter and he just shrugged and grunted«sorry». Come on guys, you can do better! Finally, if you are a sports bar… please get more and larger TVs!

I used to LOVE this place. My wife and I went once or twice a week; we enjoyed the company of the weekend night staff back then. They were great, and each individually talented in food service: they served a good meal. Those days are over, and those employees are all gone. The new employees are neither great servers, nor great cooks… which is not unexpected, as the daytime people — even the owner — have always served sub-par food and terrible service. The general atmosphere here is: «We don’t want you here, but as long as you’re here you can wait… we’ll bring your order when we feel like it, but we don’t really care if you like it.» Food quality here has never been consistent — it just used to shine at night. Now they’re finally consistent in that no matter what time of day, you’ll never know what you’re gonna get, but at least you know it’ll never be worth the price… and the price is low. At least the price is low.

Served wrong wrap. Fries cold. Waiter was apologetic and nice. Very lackluster lunch.

I expected a little more from this place. Need some big tvs up. Boring atmosphere . Burger was good but bun cold. Side salad was really good though. Portions on wraps and subs were small. No Budweiser products either. Got to get the bud nick! Always loved all his joints but crank it up and we will come back !

We have been coming here for years. I recommend the house salad with turkey and provolone, the Italian wedding soup and the meatball sandwich. And save room for the banana cake. It’s amazing!

This quiet little spot it sits nestled in a corner downtown, appropriately takes its name from a catholic school. I say appropriately because the food is absolutely Devine! From the thick cut steak fries to the heavenly chicken Cesar salad, everything exceeds even the highest expectations. This place is absolutely worth the trip, and will certainly have you coming back.

Excellent food every time, a long time staple to the downtown area. They have amazing bread my friends and I affectionately call«crack bread» :) I love getting the specials as they are usually made fresh that day. Tuna is one of my faves, usually they have on Fridays. Yummy soups too!

Great spot– its downtown, so be prepared to hunt for parking sans meters, what a great advantage. The place is great and the menu is far from the chains. We arrived early, in my opinion(1125) but we walked in with a crowd. My suggestion would be to add staff! Our server was working hard, but the experience fell short.

The burgers were outstanding… hand formed patties done to perfection. The meatball sub was cold and disappointing so we sent it back to be heated up… when the server brought it back it was still nothing special. We tried to order the Lima bean soup but it was all gone and it wasn’t even noon yet so we tried the potato soup that was delicious. We tried the banana cake and it was scrumptious… Server could have been more welcoming. She just wanted us to hurry up and order. The 4 stars are for the burger, soup, and cake which is what I recommend you order.

St Michael’s has consistently great food. It has a sports bar feel without being overbearing. There aren’t so many screens on the walls that you feel digitally overwhelmed, and I love all the old-school local sports memorabilia on the walls. I’ve always had good, speedy service from the wait staff. Hubby says they have a good selection of beer, too. ;)

Nice family style bar, nothing loud and crazy. The fries are super delicious steak style. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Bathrooms were clean. The location is great with a public lot less than a block away and a large parking garage within two blocks.

Best salad in town. Great atmosphere for families and a date… fun to watch the downtown crowd from the window! Been going every Sat night with the whole family for years.

I loved my salad and the helpful and attentive staff… I wish they had more vegetarian/gluten free selections. Jaime’s burger was«fantastic and perfectly cooked» nice atmosphere. Friday afternoon at 3, we were the only customers.

Oh, St. Michael’s. I’ve had amazing experiences here; I’ve had mediocre experiences here; and I once had one absolutely horrible experience here. The last one kept me from visiting St. Mike’s for several months afterward, but I genuinely started to miss the food served here, so I came back. I’m glad I did, because there is deliciousness to be found here, even though I’ll have to agree that the service is completely hit or miss. My favorite thing to order here is the soup and salad. Their soups, to my knowledge, are always from scratch and range from tomato bisque to lima bean to Italian wedding. That Italian wedding soup is to die for. Carrots, onions, spinach, stewed tomatoes, noodles, cheese and tender meatballs swimming in a light broth makes for an impeccably comforting lunch. The soup comes with a delicious, soft loaf of bread the size of half your forearm. The accompanying house salad features greens that have always been fresh and comes adorned with huge chunks of fresh tomatoes, sunflower seeds, and powdered cheese. I have to agree with Melissa T. that their only slightly tangy, oil-based house dressing is pretty heavy, but on most occasions I enjoy it a lot. Maybe that’s because I come from a family that really, really likes its olive oil. Pro tip: If you’re not a big lunch eater and you’re on the go, a cup of soup(with the bread!) is less than $ 5, so it’s a great deal. Since I work nearby, I order this all the time. Other things I’ve ordered or tried here include their burgers, which are solid. The meatball sub is also tempting to me 100% of the time. Eh, I’ll stop here before this review derails. TL;DR: You’ll probably enjoy the food here if you come visit, but beware the service.

I love the food at St. Michael’s. The homemade soups are delicious. I cannot stand the service, or lack thereof. We have tried multiple times to give them the benefit of the doubt — allotted for the crowds, etc., and there is no excuse for waiting 45 minutes on a slow night for two salads and a burger. That was just one time. Every other time we’ve waited 15 or more minutes for our check, and you are often damn lucky if you get a refill on your water. An average lunch for two would take us a minimum of an hour and a half. Again — the food is great — but make sure you have the time to spend waiting on it, and don’t expect any sympathy for a long wait either, unless you want to, you know, wait around for one…

Had the Steel Burger. Was a huge bacon cheese burger. If I had one complaint it would be that there were bits of gristle in the burger. Not sure if this was by design to add fatty bits to the make it more juicy or to show it was from a course ground steak or just an over-site. I upgraded to the house side salad of which I really liked. I was with a large group and everything seemed really good. The service was also good considering they were packed and had people waiting for tables.

Hands down BESTSALAD in town! Turkey, provolone, sunflower seeds, Gorgonzola and the dressing is the perfect balance of olive oil & balsamic. We eat here with our 6&7 year old almost every Saturday night and the food & service is always great! Its hard to find consistency like that in a restaurant. **Get a slice of banana cake. Even if you don’t like bananas you have to try it. Delicious!
