So my family and I(5 of us) stopped to eat during the end of the lunch rush. The food was ok… most of the buffet slots were empty the entire time we were there, the bathroom looked like something from Silent Hill, the waiter kept wanting to take our plates except we weren’t finished and when we got up to pay we were charged over $ 42 even though we sat down before«dinner.» Needless to say, we won’t return and we highly recommend you don’t waste your money like we did!

I relied on Unilocal reviews to make the decision to dine at Asian King Buffet, I wish I would have stayed away! Buffet choices where few, the sushi was dry, you could tell it had been sitting out for a while. The lo mien tasted like buttered noodles, not lo mien. Very dissatisfied, I won’t be back again!

TL;DR – If kept properly stocked, with foods holding hot and replenished at appropriate times, this was a good variety of dishes that I think I could have enjoyed. Unfortunately, my family did not have this experience. Food was very clearly not being hot-held appropriately in the buffet warmers. If you chanced upon grabbing some right after a new batch came out, it was nice and hot, but everything else on my plate was unappetizingly lukewarm or room temperature by the time I got to my seat. That is, however, except for the Mongolian BBQ — steaming hot, but overcooked to the point that I tasted one piece of each meat in my dish and was embarrassed to have to push the entire thing away, afraid to test my teeth against such shoe-leather. Sushi was not refilled the entire hour or so my family was there(around 5−6pm on a Wednesday). I got the last piece of both types of sashimi on my first trip up to the buffet and recommended the Yellowfin to my party, but they were unable to ever get a piece. Bourbon chicken had the most flavor. Coconut shrimp was my favorite dish, but ran out quickly and was lukewarm after just a few minutes on the buffet. Crab rangoons are quarter-sized tiny things, so there’s not a good balance of crème cheese/crab to wonton wrapper. I didn’t even take a bite of my chicken wing, it was so leathery. No potstickers on the buffet, to my disappointment. A general lack of flavor in many dishes, notably the egg roll, egg custard, and lo mein. Service was attentive and the place seemed clean. No wait to be seated. We sat at the table at the end of our meal for a bit, waiting for the check to be picked back up, without realizing that we were meant to take it to the desk on the way out — oops!

Over priced for the limited buffet menu choices. There is really nothing here to write home about. Food lacked flavor. Frog legs were salty. I made a meal of crab ragoon, coconut shrimp, and green beams, which were the only things I thought tasted good.

Food was fresh but variety was lacking. Not bad for a once in a whir meal. Price is fair for the choice of food.

Went on Saturday night. Crab legs were pretty much standard buffet fare. The other buffet dishes were hot and fresh. We’ve never had any food related illnesses after eating here. Seems to be kept clean.

I had high hopes due the ratings and how close it is to home, but I did not care for anything here from the buffet, the selection is small and the food mediocre at best. I wont be back, there are better buffets in town– the best thing on the buffet was the fried biscuit coated in sugar, which I haven’t made since I was a kid, so I did like that… but I can make those myself.

My family and I had a very good experience here tonight(July 52015). The food was most fresh and there were lots of vegetables available. The sushi was decent and there was a selection of 6 different kinds. The tofu skin sushi was very tasty. The service was excellent, our used plates were whisked away almost immediately and our drinks kept full. A couple of the wait staff came over a few times to talk to our baby, he loved it — it made us feel welcome to bring him there! All in all this is a great Chinese buffet. Our experience this evening put it a notch above other recent experiences. Definitely recommend, especially for families.

Ok I admit it, I’m a cheap Chinese food junkie. It comes with being in the hospitality business. My goal is to try all of the roughly 90 Asian themed restaurants in town which leads me to this review. Food was fresh Food was hot Servers were friendly The restaurant was clean and orderly I did not try the Mongolian grill option but the food used for it looked good. The selection included all of your basics with no real surprises. The food however was pretty bland in flavor. While not bad nothing really called out to you saying fill that plate again. The sushi selection was similar in lack of flavor and interest. So its an okay place to go. I personally dont see a need for me to go back only because it is on the opposite side of the world from me and there are tastier options out there.

I don’t understand how this place has this high a rating. It used to be good several years ago, but the quality has gone downhill. The buffet is too expensive for the quality. One bizarre thing I found, or didn’t find– no rice at the buffet? What? Did I come on an odd day when they were out? And the lo-mein is a spaghetti consistency. Not recommended.

We usually go to Asian kings on Friday or Saturday for their crab legs buffet. Some time there will be tons of people and the crab leg replenish quickly! We have to wait for long time. So many times I have to tell manager to bring it out for more. Fried coconut shrimp is my bf favorite

This is a Chinese buffet. You know what you’re getting into. The best times to go are obviously around peak hours as that is when food will be the most fresh. They offer a pretty wide variety of things and have more available on the weekends(such as crab legs). One of my favorite dishes is General Chicken and Asian King Buffet’s version is not very good. It’s biggest issue is that it is not spicy. The other strikes being often dry chicken and soggy breading. Sweet n Sour and Cashew chicken are DYI style(you get the chicken and then pour the sauce over it yourself). The biggest issues with this is that it’s JUST chicken and sauce. No whole cashews or scallions and of course no pineapple in the sweet n sour(which isn’t a staple in SnS per se but many expect it). The sushi is mediocre but this isn’t a Japanese owned restaurant and it’s certainly passable for a buffet. The crab rangoon is perhaps my favorite as it has a very thin, crisp crust that is just enough to contain the gooey deliciousness inside. Some other dishes include Mongolian beef, cheesy crab meat with vegetables, teriyaki chicken, coconut shrimp, frog legs, bourbon chicken, stuffed mushrooms and black pepper chicken. They also have a Mongolian BBQ area where you select what you want cooked and well you know the drill. All in all it’s a decent Chinese buffet and there aren’t many.

I think this is a great place to eat. The food is fresh and delicious and the severs are very nice to us. Most importantly, they have a large variety of Asian food as well as the deserts. I’m glad I find this restaurant!:)

Wonderful fresh food! Food would definitely be 5 stars. I am basing it off the service though. They treated me and my party horrible. It was the worst service I have ever received in my life. They also treated the other patrons horrible. I wish I could give them a better review since the food was good and fresh. I will never return here to eat again though or suggest it to others.

I just recently moved here from Georgia and I must say I’ve had my fair share of Chinese food since I got here. I’m noticing quickly that there’s a ton of Chinese here. This particular restaurant was very good. It had a nice sized buffet and a lot of options to choose from, not to mention clean as well. The flavor of the food was delicious. I personally had the mushroom chicken, and they weren’t bashful about the amount of chicken in it. The crab Rangoon were small and crunchy, and not too greasy. My fiancé had the usual cashew chicken, and what I noticed was the pieces of chicken were smaller and had no «fatty» bites. The staff was friendly, but brief. I didn’t have to ask twice for anything. Overall, I would recommend it and I will definitely be back.

This is a very nice, well-stocked Chinese buffet, with Mongolian barbecue and sushi also available as has become fairly common for Chinese buffets. It has all the traditional standard foods of such buffets, including my favorite, Black Pepper Chicken, and not too many of the non-Chinese dishes some restaurants add to fill out buffet space(except for sushi, of course). I was there at the lunch hour when the restaurant was reasonably busy, but the buffets were well-stocked with food, all of it hot and fresh and appetizing. There was a good selection of soups, including hot and sour, egg drop, and wonton. The hot and sour soup was nice and hot, though not as sour as some I’ve had. Egg rolls were decent. The crab rangoon was great. A lot of places’ crab rangoon has a tiny little dot of cheese/crab mixture, surrounded by a huge pinwheel of dry noodle, but Asian King’s is mostly cheese mixture with less of the unpalatable dried noodle part. The sushi(just rolls, no nigiri) looked a lot better than the pitiful excuse for sushi some buffet restaurants have, and it tasted decent too. One thing different from a number of buffets is that instead of being in tubs along with the other dishes, the restaurant has its fried and white rice in sealed steamers on a separate table at the back, to keep it fresh and moist rather than letting it sit in the open and dry out. I did have to ask where it was before I could find it, though. Everything was clean and neat, the staff was extremely friendly, and the $ 7.55 price tag on my lunch buffet was very reasonable for the amount of food I was able to eat. My only regret is that I can no longer put away as much food as I used to!
