We have given Flo several chances to shine! Most recently we went to celebrate my hubby’s birthday, called ahead and made reservations for 8. Asked if there were any holiday parties that evening, they said they didn’t think so. We got there by 530 to take advantage of happy hour, and there was indeed a party which took up half the restaurant. When finally seated, our poor little waitress was pretty much taking care of the whole non-party side and running her legs off. Needless to say, we almost didn’t get our orders in before happy hour ended, had a hard time getting drink refills, etc. It took a very long time to get food out, and it was only lukewarm. Nothing(food or drink) was spectacular. It is probably a good idea for them to hire some more wait staff. Good thing we weren’t in a hurry, we spent almost 2 hours there start to finish.

We visited Flo last night for a girls night out and the food and service left much to be desired. Our glasses stood empty most of the evening, as well as it took almost a hour to get our entrees!!! The portion sizes were tiny and left everyone at the table still hungry. The food was not horrible but for the price and portion I expected a lot more flavor and presentation than was presented to us! It was my first time at Flo and will be my last!!!

Not sure what Flo is trying to go for but their food is mediocre and non-commital. The sushi isn’t the best. The random Americanized dishes aren’t all that great either.

I LOVE Flo! I have tried many different things and not been disappointed. The star of the side dishes though has to be the truffle tater tots: D my favorite drink is called the northern lights.

I had their steak and shrimp tacos. They were bland and skimpy on cheap flour tortillas. The sauce they used was a little gross. This may be an Asian place, but if they are going to put anything on their menu then it had better be well done. I found it amusing that this is the type of place that fosters an atmosphere of snooty service with their college age servers who play the role like bad actors.

I literally can’t think of a less enjoyable way to spend $ 100 and an hour. Paying a hobo to shove bamboo shoots under my fingernails? Awesome. Buying and watching Who’s The Boss on VHS? Great. Flavorless, poorly crafted, overpriced«sushi» and what appears to be seaweed salad, but in reality is best described as some phlegm with a bit too much dressing? No thanks. If I could give negative stars, I would. The wine list, though overpriced(Caymus at $ 130 a bottle?), saved what little dignity remains for this black hole of gastronomy.

Ended up at Flo when we found out Metropolitan Grill is apparently closed on Sunday’s. Really attractive exterior, looks like its in an old European house. Inside is a curious mix of sports bar, and sushi restaurant. Red drapes adorn all the walls. Our server was delightful, high energy and attentive. We opted for white wine with our sushi rolls, but there is a nice beer selection as well. Sunday night football on the tubes. The sushi rolls were surprisingly good, and we added an apple salad with chicken breast. The menu is full of other small plates that would make great sports bar sharing food. It would also we a good place and menu for children, as the noise from all the TV’s makes the atmosphere energetic in the base case.

Everyone is always very friendly. Food has not been very consistent over the past few months, however I keep going back! Guacamole is great and so is Tonya.

Was very disappointed with this place. The food was nothing special and certainly not worth the price. We were sat next to the owner and his friends. The entire time we were there the owner and his friends yelled at a football game on TV, while dropping the F-Bomb every several seconds. They were very disrespectful and didn’t seem to care that we were trying to eat just a few feet away. I will never go back.

(Yes, I’m back.) You. Are. Kidding. Me. I went there twice: once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch was better, because these people can’t handle crowds so ten people in the restaurant at noon is more up to par with their piss-poor time-management skills. Nothing about my lunch was outstanding. I had a salad/sushi combo for a nominal fee with a hot sake. I realize that some drinks take extra effort to make, but there was no reason why a hot sake should take that long to heat up. The delivery on that drink was awful, too. They put it in a metal teapot and gave me a stemmed shooter. Thanks, assholes. Now I have to drink this expensive drink VERY quickly so as to preserve the heat factor. Ever wonder why sake is typically served in ceramic thimbles? TOKEEPWARM! Why is it stored in a miniature ceramic decanter? TOKEEPWARM! Metal and stemmed shooters DONOTKEEPHOTDRINKSHOT! You ruined a fantastic drink for me. The sushi is gawd-awful. Its subpar and just awfully bland. The caesar salad wasn’t very good either. How terrible is it to ruin things you don’t make, yourself? Any idiot can make a salad and heat up and serve a hot drink, but the twitching retards there couldn’t even do that. Here’s the worst part: I decided to take my wife there AFTER I decided this place wasn’t suitable enough for me to piss in. My fault. «Maybe dinner will be better,» I rationalized with myself, clearly wanting to give Flo the benefit of the doubt. My wife quickly pointed out to me menu problems. «Crab wontons»(rangoon to the rest of the sensible world) was listed twice and so was something else on the paper menu. She’s a graphic designer and pointed out a few other flaws, but those are all subjective. She ordered the cheapest sushi rolls and made faces at the quality all throughout dinner. I attempted to make sense of the menu. They do this crap of… well, let me type it up to the best of my ability… I mostly blocked out this whole experience and went into a trance-stare while I was there: BISTROSTEAK15 shit sauce, shitrooms, shit greens That’s not exactly what it said, but that’s my interpretation. What kind of steak? How many ounces? I NEEDMOREEXPLANATION! The waiter suggested the seafood paella and it was terrible. I ate all of the shrimp and scallops, but the rice was damned ricearoni with cheese or something or other. Who made this menu selection? A culinary school dropout? I didn’t…no COULDN’T stand to finish it. I could have made better vomit. But hey, it was served in a stone bowl. Woo. They stuffed us in the back next to the video game, which was sorely out of place. The only saving grace that night was the wine, which was terribly overpriced. I miss the ice cream store that was there. Anyone else? Bottom-line: Don’t eat here. You’re better off eating mac and cheese at home and only consuming the wine they offer. Its an okay selection, most of which comes from California and is overpriced, but they really can’t screw up pouring wine. Anything that requires even a shred of understanding will confuse them into a stupor. I’m not just maintaining my typical«I hate everything» online critic persona, I genuinely hate this place. Its a shame that Unilocal won’t allow me to give this place a zero star. This is the lowest of the low. This tops my bad experience at Texas Roadhouse, which was so awful that Texas Roadhouse Corporate actually gave me money in lieu of gift cards/certificates. Maybe this place makes its money by taking the business that Metropolitan Grill refuses. Flo is all flash with little substance. They use subliminal and somewhat unethical décor to trick you into a good time. The color red is used to incite appetite and food to hungry people tastes better than food to non hungry people. I was hungry but I ignored my carnal instincts to «feed» and throw tables over. Jesus. I’m shaking. Glad to be back, btw.

One of our favorite bars in town. Great wine selection and kick ass eats. We our sushi lovers. The tater tots are a guilty pleasure. We love the atmosphere although it could be a bit darker in the evenings. We always have a great time.

This place has an extensive — though very commercial — wine list. Many of the wines are available in tasting or glass servings. We ordered two different bottles of wine, both of which they were out of. The wine prices seem averagely-high for this area. The starters were good. The crab rangoons are more cream-cheese rangoons; though still quite tasty and not over fried. The coconut shrimp skewers were somewhat tough, but had good flavor. I had a caesar salad which could’ve been dressed more, but everything else about it was great. For my entrée, I had the breaded chicken with shrimp. The shrimp were, again, quite tough. The chicken/potatoes/asparagus was comparable to what one would get at Applebee’s– and in which case, I don’t think the $ 15 cost was too high. Overall, I think this is one of those places that’s busy because it just opened six months ago and it’s trendy but I don’t believe it will have a long future. Also, I would not categorize this as «Japanese /Asian Fusion.» The only things Japanese are a few generic sushi rolls.
