I was in town for the Eugene Marathon, and decided to eat here to carb up before my race rhe following day. Huge mistake. I’m amazed that an «Italian restaurant» had such little awareness that there are thousands of runners staying in nearby hotels, and would want to eat pasta, and lots of it. I sat at the bar, to a restaurant that was only a quarter full. I sat there for over five minutes, not having my drink order placed by two separate employees. Finally, I was told that any food order will take over an hour. No explanation given. Although it seemed odd because the restaurant was by no means even half full. I decided to wait it out. Again, huge mistake. When my dish finally arrived, I was immediately disappointed. Portion was small, and looked very poorly made. I was starving at this point, and the dish still looked gross. Part of the reason I ordered an entrée, is because the menu says it comes with bread and salad, fairly standard for an «Italian Restaurant». This came with neither. I asked about this, and the server said they were out of bread. An «Italian restaurant» runs out of bread… What’s worse, is I asked for a water, again, because I was running a race the next day. I was planning on having at least 3 glasses. After I finished my first, my empty glass stayed empty the rest of the evening, without once being offered to be refilled. Apparently the staff behind the bar were too busy on their cell phones and bad mouthing management(within ear shot of me) to refill my water. There’s nothing more unappealing than bar/restaurant staff talking shop and speaking poorly of their own restaurant and management in front of the customer. I was EXTREMELY disappointed, and will not be back. My review can be summed up by saying: if you’re in town for the marathon, business, or anything, AVOIDTHISPLACE!

Not very good. This was my second time eating here and I ordered the steak. The vegetables were covered in herbs and the steak was well done even ordered medium. I wouldn’t recommend it. The first time I did have a pizza they no longer carry(buffalo chicken) and that was good!

Great employees, great beer. Awful food. I ordered a burger, the pickle spear they put on the side had more flavor than the burger or the salad. Very disappointing.

I had room service two nights in a row. I travel a lot and work in the evenings so convenience is important. The staff was great, otherwise this review would have been one star. The Alfredo sauce was lumpy and tasteless the first night and the minestrone soup was terrible. The chicken was dry the second night and I’m pretty sure it’s precooked chicken just reheated. Yuck! I’ll stay here again but I won’t eat in the restaurant or get room service.

First, they were out of Grey Goose, Ketel One and Absolute… clearly don’t have enough business to keep the bar stocked. My Stoli came with so little vodka it looked and tasted like cranberry juice. They were also out of fresh basil, so forget anything on the menu calling for that. I should have taken my cue from their lack of grocery shopping and gone elsewhere. The bruschetta had cherry tomatoes and balsamic with very little else-at least attempt to chop up the tomatoes! Two thumbs down!

Bland food. No ambiance. At least they have local beers.

We came here on New Years eve and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t packed. Our server was polite and attentive. I had a sirloin steak and asked for it to be cooked medium rare. I was beyond pleased when it came out and I cut into it. It was perfectly charred on the outside and nice and pink in the inside. Probably the best steak I have had in the Springfield/Eugene area. The garlic mashed potatoes were perfect. The veggies could have been cooked more to my liking, but I ate them. I like mine fork tender and I know most people prefer a bit of a crunch. My man had the Chicken pizza and it was bigger than we expected. He said it was amazing and loved the blue cheesey alfredo sauce on it. He ate the entire thing! Pretty sure it was cooked in a woodfire stove. We will be back again! This was my third visit here and I have never been disappointed. In the summer, the patio seating is quite delightful.

We stayed at the hotel over Christmas and had dinner here. The service was great, food was spot on. They even have a bar with some local beers on tap. Try the Ciopinno!

This place is awful. Should have Unilocaled it first. Can’t say anything about in-dining experience as we got it from pony express. Got fett Alfredo with shrimp, spaghetti and meatballs, and calimari. Should be easy and good right? WRONG! Fettucine was extremely bland even when we poured salt on it. Calimari was flavorless and came without the dipping sauce. Dressings were wrong on salad but they were the only good thing. Spaghetti was lacking sauce, noodles were not seasoned and meatballs were tougher and had some flavor. Did I also mention my calimari was raw! Gross. This all cost around 70 bucks with tip. Should have just set fire to the bills cause this meal was worthless.

If you are looking for a great atmosphere to work while on the road and also a great meal, Amici is the choice. Grab a bench along wall as all of them have electrical outlets and cat 5 for internet so you can plug in! What I thoroughly enjoyed is that they carry 14 hands Cab as their house wine which is one of my favorites. As for food, they offer a nice variety of salads, soups, entrees and a few select desserts which I strongly suggest saving room for. I really enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake a la mode as it comes out hot and delicious.

Service was slow. Waitress never came back to see if we needed drink refills. I had the pork chop which was very dry. The chef likes a lot of pepper on his Vegetables. Clams were a bit rubbery but the broth was insanely good. Should have been served with bread for dipping.

How can you ruin breakfast? Well Amici just proved how! The good: the waitress, the coffee. The ugly: the wait and the food. We ordered a skillet, eggs over easy… after an eternity the skillet arrived, greasy plate, eggs like rubber(and just a dabble of over easy yolk). The cinnamon infused French toast… had the rest of my yolk… undercooked and very little batter… more like a cinnamon bagel undercooked yet fried! Ugh. Anyway… that is how to ruin a breakfast! The waitress gave us 50% off and that was still not worth it! I guess it was no wonder that the late night staff on check in did not recommend Amici as a place for dinner!

i will give the Holiday Inn one thing — no matter what they call their restaurant inside their hotel… they are consistent! unfortunately they’re consistently bad. I travel for a lot of my work and i always stay at the holiday inn — and every single restaurant is never good. Amici is no exception. The menu is rather limited to a few basic items: chicken wings or flat bread for appetizers. and a few salads, paninnis, and a few pasta dishes. I tried the chicken wings: which were actually, okay at best. the bruschetta was odd… if you are one to eat with your eyes — this is NOT the dish for you. some store brought bread and a plate of olive oil and balsamic vinegarette — paired with a plate of goop. literally a gob of goop. it looks as if it was scooped out of a can and thrown on the plate in three lumps of mystery gunk. i ate it. i gagged. i couldn’t tell what it was — just glad it wasn’t alive. my main dish had was the chicken fettucini alfredo. big disappointment. i went with that choice as it is a very easy dish. you can buy the premade sauces at a local grocery store and have more flavor that the dish that was brought out to me. matter of fact — i would have been more satisfied with chef boyardee than the dish that was brought out to my table. the chicken was dry — tasted as if it was precooked and reheated. the pasta had ZERO flavor. i don’t know where the sauce came from or what it was made of but had nothing! absolutely nothing for flavor! the only thing that had any flavor was the cheese that was grated on to the dish — and that was just salty. my guess would be a kraft parmesean cheese that was sprinkled on top. the wait staff was nothing of noteworthy. the only thing that may have saved any type of grace is that drinks are well balanced and poured. and that’s it. save your money and your appetite… go to jack in the box down the street.

Not your average hotel restaurant. My wife and I wanted to go someplace unique that we had not been to. We had passed Amici a couple of times in our comings and goings from the Holiday Inn(Not the Express) It always seemed that either the place had just closed for breakfast or wasn’t open for dinner yet. This time we actually planned on going to dinner there. We were very satisfied upon entering, we were received by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. Despite the high ceiling and a fair number of people in the lounge area, the noise level was pleasant. The surroundings are very up to date and clean. The clientele were wore casual but not denim. The menu, while sparse in it’s offering, had something for everyone. Seafood, steak and your traditional pastas and lasagnas. The appetizer fare was pretty simplistic. i would have liked to see some traditional Italian style apps, but this is the Willamette Valley. Someday I will find a decent antipasta. We ordered drinks and a small vegetable/bread platter to start, not wanting to fill ourselves before dinner. For our dinner, I had the Chicken Parmesan and my wife had the a shrimp pasta dish. The food came out timely and quite hot. The chicken had a crispy exterior with a very fresh olive oil taste to the bite. The parma had a great taste and did not have that left out too long taste that is all too common. The marinara was very tomato-y in taste but had excellent seasoning. Not too salty and no sugar taste. This was ragu for adults. The shrimp tasted great with a very nice bite, no rubbery frozen flash cooked food here. I would say the drinks are moderately priced, They carry draft beer’s from Hop Valley, which is right across the street from the hotel. The wait staff was very attentive and never intrusive. All in all, I will be back. Hopefully, they will go for more traditional Italian food in the future.

Hidden off of Gateway(main drag off Interstate 5) in the Holiday Inn in a cul de sac, a delicious steak dinner, wine & dessert were served thanks to a groupon offer. The building is new, the restaurant in cozy & comfortable(patio for al fresco dining also available), and the restaurant staff was very friendly & accommodating! The bartender called out a greeting upon entry, the waitress made many trips to make sure the dinner was satisfying & even the head chef came out to get feedback. This doesn’t usually happen in most places? Not the typical«discount» experience… The wine menu features local Oregon & Washington wines selected by the chef… still working on getting the wine menu finalized? Well worth the trip to explore, enjoy & experience this little Italian contemporary themed restaurant. They would love to please you!

Eh! I’m Johnnie Greaseball and I’ma halfa Italian. I drive all ovah Lane County looking for da best Italian food, and I gotta tell ya, I found it here at Amici’s in the Holiday Inn. Oh! If only I had twenty reviews to tell ya how great dis place is, I’d tell ya how if you eat it once, you’d be coming back again and again. I sees dees people writing bad stuff about AMICI and I just pity dees idiots. You can sucka my tomatoes! Sorry, I’m just screwing with ya. No one would actually write that review, would they?( ) We tried it tonight. Décor: burgundy walls and a lot of this and that thrown around in the way that a hotel tries to convince you it’s an authentic Italian bistro experience. Service: attentive and friendly. Complimentary focaccia: thick and tasty with bits of red pepper inside and course salt on top. Menu: a few starters, a few salads, several panini($ 8.5) and eight very basic Italian entrees, things like chicken fettucini, lasagne and spaghetti & meatballs priced moderately from $ 10.5 to $ 13.5. Food: lackluster. Hubby ordered spaghetti and meatballs, which weirdly came out as spaghetti and fettucini and meatballs. Not necessary. Meatballs were okay flavor but the meat was minced beyond the texture of cat food. I kept trying the marinara and couldn’t figure out it if was too sweet or too bitter, so maybe both. Hubby’s take? «I don’t like watery spaghetti sauce.» I got sausage cannelloni. Decent sausage, ricotta and mozzarella filling was stuffed in some nicely thick sheet pasta cooked under al dente, splashed with tomato sauce and covered with a handful of medium-grade parmesan cheese. It should have been baked together. Instead, it was just assembled and thrown out without any chance to meld together or brown; it looked like a large frozen dinner and tasted as such. It wasn’t the worst dinner in a restaurant I’ve had, but it wasn’t that great either. It mostly bored me to death, which might be a bigger sin.

Nice atmosphere. Plenty of friendly servers. House wine was expensive, however there was no drink menu so did not know until we received the check how expensive it was. Limited menu but they were out of one of the main menu items(salmon). Wonderful tiramisu… made in-house. Waiter told us they also have a good breakfast however he did not bring us a breakfast menu like we requested.

Surprisingly pretty bad! This restaurant is located in the Holiday Inn. We had a group dinner for about 15 people and we were the only customers in the place. Service was really slow, meals tasted like micro waved Stouffers, parts of the meal were warm and parts were cold. Overall generic and bland. Would not recommend.
