This place is AMAZING! We order from here at least twice a week! Everything anybody has ever had, has been delicious :)

Excellent! We’ve ordered take out before but today was my first time in the restaurant. Super friendly and welcoming staff. Food as always is fresh and delicious. The menu has offerings that you don’t find at any other place. Highly recommend the Captn Crunk Chicken fingers!

We’ve been here about 6 times now. The first few visits were awesome. Delicious food, nice staff, prices are great. However, the last 3 times have been disappointing. The food is still good, but the staff is awful. Long wait, not attentive ATALL even though there are only three other tables occupied. The waiters will come by to take your order and then run off before you can even stop them to add something or ask a question. One thing that concerns me — I ordered the French onion soup, it comes to me in a bowl with the traditional melted cheese on top. I scooped my spoon into it and tasted — it’s artichoke dip. Ok fine, wrong table, but I had also bit one of the pita bread pieces before I noticed the order was incorrect. I sent it back, but had to walk it up to the bar myself. They didn’t apologize or bring me my correct soup right away, and I’m 95% sure they gave that same dip to the correct table… after I’d eaten off of it and told the waiter I did. I was so excited about this place at first but they are quickly losing points with us. Service is a huge factor in keeping your diners happy. Food and prices are great, service sucks. Please get some better people in there! That being said — if you come here, try the smoked gouda shrimp & grits, the chicken fried pork chop, or the steak tenderloin special.

Decided to give this place a try based on all the great reviews. The restaurant is pretty spacious, plenty of seating available. The menu has something for everyone, burgers, salads, southern style comfort food, all at a very reasonable price. I went with the shrimp & grits, my son had the kid’s chicken tenders. The shrimp and grits was just ok. The grits weren’t hot and it really had no flavor. Shrimp were cooked perfectly though & season well. The jalapeños in the dish completely through the flavor of the dish off. It was just an odd flavor to me. I have yet to find a «knock your socks off» shrimp and grit dish anywhere in TX, nothing compares to the one I’ve had in New Orleans at Mr B’s Bistro. I guess I should lower my standards since after all we ain’t in NOLA. My son’s chicken tenders were good. I could tell it was hand battered, tasted fresh & not greasy. Service was fairly quick. I always like to support local non-chained restaurants so I will definitely have to come back and try out some other stuff on the menu and update my review than.

This is a pretty solid restaurant. We went during happy hour and got great prices on beer and wine. I got the Shrimp and Grits and my friend got the Chicken Fried Chicken with Jalepeno Gravy. The food was amazing and the portion size is great. I had enough to take home to have a small lunch the next day. The Gouda Grits were probably some of the best I’ve had. The only room for improvement was with the knowledge the server had about the drink and food menu. Other than that, stellar service and food!

Don’t let the unassuming exterior and location fool you — the food is excellent. We started with onion rings, husband had chicken and waffles, I had side salad, shrimp and grits. Salad was fresh, dressing tasted homemade. Salad also had some sort of cheesy croutons which were delicious. The grilled shrimp was the best I’ve had in a long time, wish I knew how they did it. The smoked gouda grits were amazing, although I’m not used to eating food this rich, I really enjoyed it. Friendly, efficient service. Beautiful bathroom. Please give them a try!

First time there. Kevin our waiter brought his A game… On top of all things«customer service.» We started with the fried jalapeños which were awesome. Hot and spicy just like we like ‘em. He had the chicken fried chicken with jalapeño gravy. He cleaned his plate to give you an indication of how much he enjoyed it. I had the shrimp and grits. They were amazing!!! Nice smokey flavor from the cheese and the jalapeños gave it a nice fresh taste. Loved it! We will definitely be back and bring family/friends.

The absolute best. Great service, food and their veggies are always fresh and flavorful. I’ve recommended Omega to Lots of people, they all love it! Burgers, chicken fried steak, amazing salads to stir for onion rings and sweet potato fries! Just try it, you’ll be glad you did.

This is probably my new favorite lunch spot. There’s a ‘seat yourself’ policy which I love, because there’s been many times at other restaurants where I’ve hated the table given to me. I like being able to choose NOT to sit next to the crying kids or where the AC blows directly on me. Service is always great and the place is always very clean. One of my favorite items is the jalapeño gravy. It’s so good, you almost want to just eat it with a spoon. Their salads are large and filling too. My favorite is the Greek salad. They’re generous with the olives and capers. Prices are very fair and I like that you can usually get in and out fairly quickly if you’re in a hurry. The dessert selection could be better, but I would still go here even if the desserts were nonexistent.

This place is really about a 3.5…I just rounded up. The strip this place is in doesn’t really do the look of the place justice at all. The place is beautiful. I ordered one of their specials that was a bacon waffle burger. I was sad to notice there wasn’t any kind of secret sauce on my burger… aside from that there was no bacon nor bacon flavor to be found. My waffle also tasted kind of generic. The meat patty itself was tasty and the overall portion size was massive. I also would have preferred seasoned fries or something more unique. This place would have been a 5 if I could have tasted the bacon and if I had some kind of sauce. I’ll probably give The Omega Grill another chance because they had a lot of appealing things on their menu.

Awesome food. Service can be slow sometimes but whatever. Chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy is pretty much my standard. Side of onion rings cuz they are delicious. Burgers are great! Jalapeño cheese bun is tasty. My grilled jalapenos I ordered came in a side cup in rather large slices. Seeds all still in too so very hot. So don’t expect sliced rings grilled up basically. Jalapeño poppers are also very good, seeds still in, so very very hot. I like spicy, but these were pretty tremendous, just be aware. Also, care when biting in, deep fried obviously and I burned the crap out of my lip with delicious lava filling. Careful about the ranch and sauces, they didn’t used to charge me but last visit they did. Sad. I think it should be common courtesy to let patrons know if there’s going to be a charge for something like that, especially when they ask for more than one. Oh well, I’ll survive :) Good stuff!

Finally, got to try this place after seeing so many in the foodie group talk about it. We were not let down. The queso is really good, right about of spice and good size portion. I like how they are not afraid to spice things up here. Husband and I each got the chicken fried steak with the jalapeño cream gravy. The portions are so big we could have easily split and both been full. Made great leftovers! The service was really good and she was so nice. We will return.

We actually happened upon this place because we ended up in a different part of the city for the marathon packet pickup than expected, and didn’t want to fight traffic back to our hotel, so we looked on our trusty Unilocal and found that this was the closest restaurant, had amazing reviews, and was exactly the type of food we were craving. Score! When we sat down and looked at the menu and soaked up the atmosphere, I was really sad I was running in the morning, which meant no drinkies, and nothing too spicy, and not really time for interesting food. I got the chicken breast with creole sauce, with mashed potatoes and a salad. Each thing was one of the best things of that thing I’ve ever had. The chicken breast was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and didn’t need the sauce at all. But the sauce was AMAZING so I ate it anyways. The mashed potatoes were perfection. The salad was a bit pricey at 4 bucks a pop, but it came in giant bowls and everything in it was fresh and the dressings were definitely homemade. It’s incredibly understated in a giant random strip mall, but it’s definitely worth checking out. I will make it a point to come back next time I am in the neighborhood.

Second visit = MUCH better service. Kevin was on top of the ball. Food: –Stuffed jalapeño appetizer dish was awesome. Well suited for a table for two(first visit cheese dip lasted through two servings of chips and we still took some home with us!). The breading was crunchy and thin and the peppers had a pleasant level of spice. –My shrimp and grits was flavorful and filling. I saw a Unilocal photo of this dish and wanted to check out the smoked Gouda grits. My plate came with unexpected jalapenos. Though they are not on the menu, or in the photo I saw, they worked well with the sweet tomatoes ** You can order a side of Gouda grits with any entrée ** –Charlie ranked their chicken fried chicken in his top five! He chose the jalapeño gravy over brown or cream for his dish and fries for the side. I could not resist asking for extra napkins this visit… and Kevin passed with flying colors. He brought a hefty stack out for the table :) so many that he restocked my glove box napkin supple. A few of Omega’s entrees(fish of the day, grilled pork chops) are served with the«sauce of the day.» Kevin humored my request to sample the day’s choice sauce — and came back with THREE different ones! The only thing Kevin did not do during our visit was take me serious when I asked him to write down what each sauce was. Everyone knows I have an awesome memory, though, so no biggie. The favors were: Plum & Apple(favorite), Portobello(surprisingly did not enjoy), Apricot & Mustard(very thick) Ps, I have a terrible memory. Omega, if I am wrong, please feel free to correct me.

The Omega Grill is definitely worth a try! I’ll be going back very soon! Here’s how our visit went: As soon as we walked in, I was instantly impressed with the atmosphere: décor, cleanliness, the choice of music(Vampire Weekend, The Shins, Death Cab, etc…), and most of all, the very welcoming staff! We were waited on immediately. As looked over the menu, I was shocked by the incredibly inexpensive menu items(i.e., Shrimp & Grits for $ 12). The food was delicious and we left fat and happy.

For a long time, this suite felt like someone had transplanted a truck stop into a shopping center and called it a restaurant. JP’s tried to change that, and though they got the food right, they never could figure out the front of the house. Now, finally, Omega Grill has completely removed all traces of the past. The dining room is dark, modern, and comfortable. The menu is classic Texas comfort food with a twist: chicken fried steak, chicken, and pork chops; salads; burgers(including bison and lamb); hot dogs; and even chicken and waffles are available. Everything has been superb. Their burger(get the jalapeño bun) was a done just right, nicely seasoned throughout and juicy without being a huge mess to eat. The fries were homemade and even better than the burger if you ask me. I tried the chicken-fried pork chops, and they did those schnitzel-style and served with a lemon wedge. It was a nice variation, one I prefer to the standard bound breading. Jalapeño gravy had just the right kick. I also tried the«fork and knife» hot dog, and all I can say is that their homemade chili is a real winner. That took the hot dog and made it something special. Definitely get a bowl of chili on one of your visits! Onion rings were perfect as well. Last, I tried a salad, the«chop it» in this case, and was served a big bowl of fresh greens and onions, nicely grilled chicken, bacon, and honey mustard dressing. Best salad I’ve had in a while. I have to stick with four stars for now, because the mixed vegetables I got with the pork chops were oily and a little bitter, and service has been uneven so far, with one waitress in particular definitely phoning it in that day and kind of just … drifting around hoping she hit all the tables enough times I guess. Nothing awful, just odd. Everyone else has been pleasant and personable, if a bit too slow at lunch sometimes. Again, not drastic, but at lunch, an extra 15 minutes can get you in trouble. [** Quick update to add that service has taken a HUGE jump upward. Everyone who’s helped me on my last couple of visits was cheerful and pleasant, and I wanted for nothing. Omega’s getting very close to earning that 5th star, and it’s already becoming one of my favorite places to eat. **] I love that Omega Grill also features local suppliers, such as Bravado Spice Company’s hot sauces. I’ll definitely be making them one of my regular spots!
