I was visiting my Grandmother in Spokane when she was having major problems with a tenant. She needed advice and her lawyer stopped handling landlord/tenant issues. We found LLA online and she joined. Joy Peck, the executive director spoke to my Grandmother on the phone and then came to her residence with me in attendance. She immediately requested a check for membership(before I joined the meeting) and then proceeded to advise her of evicting the problem tenant. She seemed very helpful and nice and gave us a packet of info, instructions and eviction papers. We filled them out and served them as advised and then had some questions for Joy. Grandma called her and was berated with«You didn’t do THIS right and you didn’t do THAT right after all the time I spent trying to explain this to you people.» We actually had served the papers correctly so I don’t know why she was convinced we didn’t. My Grandmother ended up speaking to Joy once more(apparently she’s the only person to talk with in the association) and was verbally bullied once again. The lawyer that was recommended by Joy had my Grandmother come to his office to discuss the eviction. He was not present when she got there but her papers were taken by the secretaries and he called her later. She asked him to call her back at another time as she was not feeling well. He told her maybe she should go to the hospital if she was sick! She told him she didn’t need to go to the hospital and found it very odd that a complete stranger would pressure over the phone to go to the hospital. So now my Grandmother wants nothing more to do with this company and spent $ 115 plus $ 90 for joining and monthly. Turns out there’s another landlord association in Spokane. Maybe that one is helpful. Avoid this one like the plague.
