First — ordered Tanqueray and Tonic. Watched bartender make drink and it was NOT Tanqueray. I let it go. Second — ordered glass of wine. Glass was VERY dirty; had thick white stuff stuck to top and side. They did apologize. Third — ordered 3 dinners. Two of the 3 dinners brought to our table were not what was ordered. Had to wait for proper order to be made. Ok, I get it. Stuff happens. But don’t you think that they would have ATLEAST comped the glass of wine, or something? We will not go back…

Party of 3 … I had the schnitzel, my niece had the soft shell crab sandwich and my mom had the Turkey Panini … We loved the food and atmosphere. The chicken was moist, tender, and had s very light bread crumb coating. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Go on a Tuesday for their $ 19.99 specials. Well worth it! Also try dining outside-very nice area and you’re not right on the street. Good food, average costs. Live music.

Good food, good service, nice outdoor seating. Only thing missing was a view of the lake. Servers name was Shannon who was excellent. We enjoyed the chicken schnitzel and a salad. Outdoor area is somewhat new, well kept, lots of shade. It’s right across from Lake Mohawk. We would return.

Very good food & service. Party of 6 for b’day dinner… great variety of appetizers(I had mussels w chorizo) but all were outstanding. Great variety of dinner entries(tried the beef tips w mashed potatoes & asparagus) but I was able to taste my daughter’s entrée, CHICKENSCHNITZEL, which was outstanding and which I will order when I return. Service was attentive and friendly… great combo for a very nice dinner out.

This place is a local favorite. Food is great. Bartenders are friendly. They have really stepped up their beer menu and who can’t resist the Bier Garten in the Summer. Highly recommended.

Our favorite place to go in Sparta! Food and service is always excellent. They do a lot for their patrons, especially if you join their loyalty program! They always have new specials and seasonal cocktails which is great when you want to try something new. I’m obsessed with their pork burger! Chopped salad is also another one of my favorites:-)

The ritz has a newish outdoor beer garden with lots of seating. The building has been seriously renovated and is much nicer inside then it was 5 years ago. They only have around 8 beers on tap and only one of them is a German beer. Odd because they call themselves a «biergarten». They would be wise to offer more German beers on tap, because no bar within 40 miles carry any! They should follow the«pilsener haus» biergarten model(in Hoboken). Update(2 – 16): They have replaced their tap system and added another beer tower. Still no more German beers. Update(4 – 16): They have added another great German beer to the tap list just in time for spring /summer! Sweeeeet.

Great meal and great atmosphere. However, when I ordered my Cabernet I was given the house and another option which was highly recommended. I chose the second option. It was great wine. However when we received the bill it was $ 20 per glass. In Sussex County, the next step up is typically $ 11 – 14 more than the house wine… if that. I was floored. Just a heads up about this. I loved the place but felt that I was a bit ripped off at the same time.

Finally decided to try this place and went on a Sunday and fell in love with the atmosphere and being able to sit outdoors. They have two menus(a lighter one and the regular menu). The regular dinner menu is a bit pricey, which is why I’m glad they offer another menu that’s more affordable for families. I was able to bring my child and they ate their popcorn chicken and loved their fries. Food was delicious. Wait staff friendly and professional. Will definitely go back with the family again sometime soon.

The most relaxing lunch I’ve had since my vacation in Naples, Florida months ago! Sitting outside, enjoying the view and wonderful early fall weather. Delicious wood-grilled vegetable panini served with fresh fruit. Great glass of Chardonnay. And a fabulous server named Amy. Can’t ask for a better experience.

This was my first time dining here. Upon walking in, I was quickly greeted by the hostess. The bar had a decent crowd. I asked for outdoor seating and was promptly seated outside. There was background music playing. Once it gets dark, the lights make for nice scenery. I was quickly brought basket of bread and the waitress took my drink order. I went on a Tuesday night and they had a tasting menu for $ 19.99 that included your choice of an appetizer, meal and dessert. The menu does clearly state the portions are smaller. I was slightly concerned by that statement, but I went with the menu anyway. After eating all three courses, the portion size was not an issue at all. I left very full. For an appetizer I ordered the wood grilled shrimp cocktail. For my meal, glazed salmon and for dessert a blueberry crisp with a scoop of ice cream. The glazed salmon was described as a wood-grilled salmon filet glazed with balsamic honey and topped with crispy fried leeks, served with vegetable du jour and orzo mixed with sweet potato. It was cooked perfectly, the textures were right on and the had a great taste. Both the shrimp and salmon were cooked over in a wood grill and the smokey taste was present. Overall, a good meal, friendly attentive service and nice atmosphere. I would come back.

My college buddy hosted a dinner party here for her son who graduated from high school. We had the private room at the far left from the entrance. It fit about 40 of us very comfortably with room for 4 hot entrees, 2 sides, and 2 types of green salads. The service was excellent. From the time we arrived to set up the centerpieces, to the time they cut and served the cake, the countless staff were courteous and almost invisible because they were so efficient! They were so smooth in clearing the used plates, mingling through the guests with appetizers during happy hour, and even served the hot entrées! The food was presented well and had great flavor even though it was prepared in large quantities. The beef was tender, the salmon was moist, the chicken was tasty, & the shrimps in the scampi were huge! Everyone helped themselves to their satisfaction and had a good time! There is valet parking available if you can’t find free street parking. The restroom is clean and accessible. The ambiance is noisy and festive! My friend had had a previous family gathering and a work event here. Both had been successful. I’m sure that if you have a private party at St. Moritz, it will turn out great, too!

I have been here twice. I love the atmosphere and the staff here are great. My only issue, and it is a big issue, is the food! We went as a family and then even a bigger family. Everyone had different entrees but everything was below average to average in taste. It was all bland food. Everyone had to use salt, pepper, and sauces for flavor. Between all entrees we had tilapia, grilled shrimp, pork chop, schnitzel, sliders, popcorn chicken, and Loiusiana stir-fry which should taste less like bbq sauce. That is an entrée that I thought would be a homerun choice but over shoestring potatoes rather than rice? We did not want to make an issue out if it during dinner when the waitress asked how the food was. I would love to go back here, but only if they had a change in the menu and was adventurous with the spices.

Upon entering you can barley hear yourself talk over the din of the bar crowd. The acoustics are such that you’ll need to raise your voice considerably if you want to be heard. If it’s quaint, romantic dinning you seek, I’d look elsewhere. Our meal started off great, a dozen Bluepoint Oysters. They were fresh, chilled, and cleaned perfectly. However, half way through our appetizer the main course showed up. Being that we both ordered a fish dish, Walleye for me and Salmon for the lady, we opted not to have it sit and dry out. Both offerings were plated well and looked appealing. Served with string beans, carrots and rice, neither dish was anything to write home about. Our fish was dry, and lacked any real flavor, other than the meat it self. Our server then asked if we wanted coffee. We declined, but we were eyeing up the Strawberry Shortcake that was listed as a daily special. The next thing our check was on the table. So much for desert. It then took our server 35 minutes to collect the check. We watched as she attended to all the tables around us. We were beginning to feel like Claud Raines. To be fair, they did have a power outage, but this only added a more cozy, intimate atmosphere. We ended up satisfying our sweet tooth across the street with some homemade ice cream. Oh well. We have had better experiences here, and yes, we post those as well, but last night was a bit of a dissapointment, to say the least.

I usually love this place, so I feel conflicted about writing this review. My last two experiences have been less than stellar and I sincerely hope they were not indicative of the direction St. Moritz is going. About 2 weeks ago I ordered takeout. Very simple order of a burger, a Cuban sandwich, and a dessert. The burger was a hockey puck with no flavor(I ordered it medium) and the fries with it were undercooked. Go figure. But last night(Sunday) was just too much. Waited to be sat outside because it was the perfect night for it. After getting sat, we waited nearly 10 minutes for anyone to greet us and take a drink order. It was busy outside, but nearly empty inside, so I’m not crushing them for that. After we gave our whole order we waited another 10 – 12 for drinks. My oysters hit the table before my drinks! Again, the outside was busy, but that’s just not right. They weren’t great. Small, watery, and not at all the large East Coast oysters I was hoping for. Then, the $ 30 ribeye I ordered medium was so gray and tough that it barely resembled the fatty, marbelized, flavorful piece of meat I was expecting. I did tell my server that it was overcooked. Here’s the kicker: absolutely nothing was done about it. No manager to the table, no offer to recook, no offer of compensation. It was so disheartening and disappointing that I may never go back. I really hope this restaurant gets it together soon. I’ve heard from a lot of locals that the quality of food and service has been suffering here lately, but I hadn’t experienced it until recently. Come on guys, you’re so much better than that.

Okay, so this was the first time I have dined here and I will go back and give them another shot. Our server made our trip much better. She was amazing. The bread was yummy and the nachos were creative and absolutely delicious. The reason I’m giving them three stars is because our dinners were just okay. My son ordered the burger and fries. It was okay. My husband had the filet tips that were, well, just okay. They were tender but it clearly had the taste of ketchup. Yes, ketchup, possibly too much in the BBQ sauce. But that’s the weird thing, so did my shrimp dish. It tasted like ketchup was in the sauce and it wasn’t a BBQ sauce. However, I wouldn’t let that keep me from coming back. I will try them again for lunch and sit outside and with that I am willing to revisit my rating. But for now, this rating fits my experience.

I have been to St. Moritz a few times because my friend’s band has played for the Saturday night crowd. I was almost always too busy doing video and sound recording to stop and grab a bite to eat. Last night, we were invited to a family party so I finally had the chance to try the food. I asked our waiter what he recommended from a couple of options and without hesitation he offered something I missed called an «Oscar» — a filet mignon covered with shrimp and served long side crab. I thought that sounded very ambitious but I ordered it and am glad I did. The beef was perfectly cooked — a very nice take on medium rare. The shrimp were fresh, crisp and grilled. Very nice. The crab — a rather small portion but still fresh and tasty. It was served along side a dark mass that I didn’t know was mashed sweet potato until i tasted it. It was really well cooked and a nice side dish along side the beef. I was very satisfied. My wife had a chicken dish and offered me a taste. It too was well cooked. And she, who watches what she eats, ate every bite. Everyone else in our party had similar things to say about their food. My Godson had something I thought sounded odd but temptation — fried chicken and waffles. He tucked into the meal and made yummy noises. The skinniest person at the table, he ate every bite. We shared appetizers — I had grilled shrimp and there was a plate of spicy chicken wing-like bites. The shrimp was excellent — fresh, cooked to the right tenderness and not overly spiced. The chicken bites — pretty spicy for most of the folks — just a warning in case you aren’t blessed with asbestos dentures! Friendly and helpful wait staff. Fair pricing considering the quality. Good quality and slightly ambitious food(a compliment). Overall, a good place to eat. I must not be the only person who thinks that because the restaurant was packed. Lively bar scene too. Live in northern New Jersey and want to try a new place? Try a meal at Sr Mortiz. Recommended.

We were in town for an appointment and had some spare time for lunch, so I turned to Unilocal for a recommendation(not from the area). What a nice find! Much cozier than I expected and the food was very good. I had a veggie burger and my fiancé had salmon over salad. I tried his salmon and was very impressed! It was wood grilled and super moist. I believe our server was named Emilio and he was great. Very friendly and professional. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely be back.
