Scheels is the younger cousin to Cabela’s in the Reno Sparks area. This is a massive sporting goods store more focused on team sports than hunting and fishing. The store is easily seen from the Interstate, but it does take some skill to reach the actual store! Inside the store, you are quickly overwhelmed by the large and somewhat confusing layout of the selection of items. There are huge fish tanks, taxidermy displays, and even a Ferris wheel. Scheels also has a café and snack bar on the first level. This is a fun place to shop, especially to see all the weapons and sporting equipment. Most of the stuff can be bought cheaper online, but sometimes you need to see these items in person to really find the right one. Scheels is a fun destination for families and sport enthusiasts of all kinds. Only Nevada residents can purchase the guns, but it’s always free to browse and maybe buy a new glove or some new workout clothes.

Can you say addictive! I don’t know why but this place is great to go to. If you are purchasing items or to even waste time till you are going to do something else. My family loves the toy section where the pops are located. Well this time we went the pops are condensed to a small section. They don’t have a ton like they use to. Well, toys aren’t the only thing they have. There is sports items(fishing, camping, baseball, biking, and more), clothing, shoes, even pictures! There are amazing things for the kids to do here like the Farris wheel, bowling, shooting, and more. The actives are spread out through the store and you have to get tokens for them which are located near the gaming areas themselves. They also have a free kids club where they do fun activities with the kids on specific days. Yes, I get hooked into kids activities. I believe this draws me in to places that go

Scheels is a great place to visit and check out all they offer. Anything from sports, shoes, boots, bikes, running shoes, hiking, swimming, camping, fishing, pistols, rifles, hunting, bows and more. Each department have people there who specialize in that department. All the staff are friendly and ready to help if you have questions about their products. Also they are pretty knowledgable about the specifics of the products in the store. They have a pretty wide range of selection. A few things to try out and check out are the indoor ferris wheel and the aquarium. I would highly recommend to get on the Ferris wheel. It’s one thing to look at it but it’s pretty cool to ride it. Also the aquarium is cool to sit next to and just watch for a few minutes. Along with these attractions there is the taxidermy display around Sheels. Which is also cool to see. There is also a department for dogs and cats. Their fishing department has a great selection and they sell much more than I can think off right now. Oh they also have a bike department that has a good selection of causal, road bikes and mountain bikes. I forgot to add that their weapons department is pretty good. They have a great selection of weapons ranging from pistols, rifles, shotguns and bows. If you are gun enthusiast I would recommend stopping by this department. Once you get an appetite from looking around and shopping, there is a place to grab a bite in Scheels. They have a good selection of burgers but I usually go for their ice cream when I go here. Their quality of food is okay and could be better but I don’t mind eating here. All I have to say is there is much to see and lots to buy. I would recommend coming by to check this place out and have fun shopping. Thanks for reading my review.

I don’t really come here that often but everytime I come here they have what Im looking for. The store is plenty big and they have a department for literally everything. The staff is helpful and I mean it’s like the only good all around sports store in teh Reno, Sparks area. Yes it might be pricey but your kinda paying for quality.

This place is nothing short of amazing! They have 2 gigantic fish tanks, i guess you can call them that. They are outstanding. One is fresh water and one is saltwater. They are pillars and go overhead. Just beautiful. They have everything you could ever want if you like the outdoors, fitness or sports of any kind. Need to entertain your kiddos while you shop? They can ride the Ferris Wheel for a dollar. YEP! There is also a shooting gallery. AMAZINGSTORE.

This store is awesome! I’d especially love to thank the Ferris wheel attendant who opened the Ferris wheel back up for my boyfriend and I to ride before we headed back to the Bay Area. It was such a nice experience for her to do that. I believe her name was Shirley? Anyway, great selection of gear. My boyfriend and I bought some great stuff!

You are the reason we end up coming to Reno/Sparks! We used to go to Cabela’s, but took a gamble and wanted to check out the prices here on ammo. Golly Gee Willikers! Scheel’s, you make the drive from Sacto, damn worth it! You have been $ 4-$ 5 less than the competitors! Woot! Woot! I’m saying that because we just visited the newly opened, Bass Pro Shop, in Rocklin, CA. They were over priced, especially for ammo. With the prices of ammo skyrocketing in the past few years, it’s good to shop around. Scheel’s has everything you need for an outdoor enthusiast! Two stories of every sport you can think of! I love the interactive displays. I end up at the shooting arcade while waiting for hubs to purchase his goods. I also browse around at the vast variety of clothing and shoes. It’s not your typical sports men’s warehouse, in which the clothing are made for people living in the woods. They have that and also clothing for the city folks. I love the wide variety of North Face, Columbia, and Under Armour clothing too. If you’re from the Sacramento area, it’s worth a drive to check them out. Don’t be fooled by the newly opened store in our area, take a drive to Sparks!

This place is huge, two aquarium tanks, shooting gallery, bowling alley, and of course a ferris wheel. It was a lot of fun shopping here! This store carries a lot of stuff, but the variety of each item is limited. The staff is constantly coming up to you to see if you need assistance. This location is located in Legends Outlets, but the prices here were not really outlet prices.

The only reason I come here is if I am eating pizza at Grimaldi’s next door and I have tourists in town who are curious about the world’s largest sports store. I still have never really found any bargains to drool over and on this day, curious to see prices for kayaks, noticed they didn’t seem to have any sit on tops. So while they cover a lot of different sports, what they have available seems to be a little more limited. Do your homework before you take the hike over. Literally, on the plus side, they have work-out clothes for plus-sized women. Thumbs up for that.

Amazing. That’s all I can say. This place blew my mind because I couldn’t believe it existed in Reno, of all places! Hands down, the best sporting goods store! It has everything! It even has a little women’s retail shop for normal clothes. Mind you, it may not be the most current, trendy looking items that you’d normally find at F21 or Nordstrom, but there’s a handful of cute things by Billabong, Roxy, etc. The workout clothes is whole other ball game! They carry so many good brands. The store is so big that it has 2 big fish tanks, a small bowling aisle where you can actually bowl, and a legit FERRIS wheel INSIDE. You can actually ride it! If you’re ever in Reno, this is a must see! It’s pretty awesome!
