This is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Sioux City, and while I agree with that, I don’t find it to be a memorable place. While my steak was good(mind you, not amazing), the price reflected a salad and a side as well. The Cesar salad didn’t have anything unique about it: no fresh croutons or amazing cheese or interesting lettuce. My side was exceptionally disappointing. I ordered roasted cauliflower, which I make myself at home. I expected it to be well seasoned and cooked to perfection. What I got was beautifully colored cauliflower(purple, yellow and white) but no taste. It was under seasoned, undercooked and when I got it, it wasn’t hot. In fact, none of the food was truly piping hot. The steaks didn’t steam! Overall, not worth the price!!! Stay at home and cook better! One note: their view of the river is BEAUTIFUL!

Just ok. Lobster ravioli had tons of mushrooms(not listed on menu) and did not work. Spinach salad w pecans and pears had an odd flavor. French onion soup also had mushrooms and do salty. Overall, disappointing. Menu sounded good, but everything was a miss.

This place has a nice river view and a beautiful interior. The food is okay, but don’t order the salmon. They may do beef well, but my salmon was grossly overcooked. They also need to realize that craft beer is a huge trend. Their beer selection stinks, unless you like domestic big brands.

The service was good and the decore appeasing however, the food was subpar. I ordered crab croquettes which were flavorless, dry and burnt. Thank god for the sriacha mayo to help the flavor. I only made it through one before I got the burnt aftertaste which ruined my appetite. I also got a half dozen oysters which were good and the presentation with dry ice nice. I would come back again to give it another try due to the great service and happy hour wines.

I ordered an avocado salmon cobb salad to go and they drowned it with blue cheese dressing and placed it in a cardboard box. That was a dumb move for a restaurant of this caliber. Salad was so soggy I couldn’t even finish. That dressing should have been placed on the side and on a plate so I could walk it up to my room. I had to throw the rest away because I was eating more dressing than salad. I called them from the room to express my disappointment and all I got was an apology. They did not offer to replace this $ 16 salad.

review is based on Michael Loos Foot restaurant«manager’ alone. Beware! This man is a liability to the success of this eating establishment.

I stay at the Marina Inn a lot for my job. If I’m not feeling going out in Sioux City for dinner, I come here. I’ve been disappointed every time. I keep come back because you’d think this place would be better because of how fancy and expensive is. Don’t be fooled. Some of the worst service I’ve had. Every waiter/waitress makes me cringe by being just plain awkward. Service is so slow. The food is okay. Not great and not worth the price at all. The menu is so boring and unappetizing. If you want really good food, go to Bev’s across the river. Way better, I promise you.

The onion rings are the shining star for me. Everything was good, just not really my flavor I guess. Great for business dinners/meetings.

Phenomenal Steakhouse. Service was excellent, the suggestions on the steaks were really fantastic and the food was tremendous. To call it the best restaurant in Sioux City somewhat does it a disservice, since you know, you are in Sioux City and the competition is mediocre at best. You can compare this place to a Ruth Chris’ or any of the other top National Steakhouses and you will be right on point. The Steaks, Service, etc. are every bit as good as any of these top run places I have been in anywhere in the country. So rank it there. My suggestion and purely based on my tastes, the server raved about the Dry Aged Ribeye with the 35 day aging on top of Himalayan pink salt blocks. It was a darn good steak. But for me, it absorbed far too much of the«salty» flavor and was much more salty than I personally prefer. So you are not one who overdoes the salt, then stick with the Wet Aged Ribeye… I found it to actually have a better flavor and would have preferred that one. Side Dishes — green beans were prepared to perfection. The Fire Roasted Yellow Pepper Risotto sounds much better than it is. It is really just normal rice, it was good but not overwhelming. Bread — OK, if you like bread, you are going to keep that basket refilled cuz that stuff was fantabulous. French Onion Soup as an appetizer is fantastic as well. Overall, if you really want to splurge in this area and you are not short on duckets, then this is the place. The food will remind you of any top rated steakhouse across the US with great service and if you are near the window, a nice view of the River.

One of the best, if not the best restaurant in Sioux City and surrounding areas. Service was fantastic, environment(being on the river) is excellent, and the food is first rate for the area. I had steak – solid, fiancée had seafood – was terrific. A great choice for a weekly gathering or special occasion.

Food, drinks, and service are always excellent. Definitely one of the nicest places in SUX. They have a really nice Sunday brunch and happy hour M-Sat. Highly recommend. The quality is great and worth the time and money to go.

We stopped at Kahill’s on our way though town on our way to our lake home. The décor was attractive and the service attentive. I ordered the soup and salad lunch. The lobster bisque was good with a nice flavor and chunks of lobster but, the cup was less than half full. Were they running out? The wedge salad came with dressing, chopped tomatoes and onion. I felt somewhat cheated because I thought traditionally this salad has bacon and/or walnuts. We will probably try it again as we are by there often in the summer. Sorry to say this visit was a disappointment.

My wife was definitely thinking of me and my stomach booking us a suite in the attached hotel. We did room service for lunch, then dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Lunch and dinner are outstanding with little menu variation between the two, but a lot of satisfactory dishes. Breakfast on the other hand, a complete waste. Come for lunch and dinner and have your pick of some amazing items, but avoid breakfast.

I went here for a wedding reception. I’d recommend Kahill’s to anybody. The food is great and a good selection. I’ve talked to several people who stopped into the Sioux City area on business trips that mention Kahill’s and the great food.

I would rate Kahill’s a 4.5 or 5… with one exception. I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye(called a Chef’s Specialty on the menu, and described by the server as one of the best cuts of meat available). This steak is 39 bucks. I would have sent it back in different circumstances(long story). It was WAY overcooked, and more fat/grisle than meat. No, I am NOT kidding. I have been served better steaks at all-you-can-eat buffets. Seriously. Now for the good news… all the OTHER food we had was excellent. This was a 6 person business dinner. We got the appetizer platter(not cheap, but VERY good). I had lobster bisque with my meal, and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. The sides were delicious. Everyone else had high compliments on their meals as well(halibut, 2NY strip, filet, and top sirloin). The service was excellent, both in the bar(before dinner) and at the table. Our server was AJ. He was very professional, and very helpful describing some of the«fancy» Chef’s preparations. I will go again, but avoid the porterhouse completely. They offer a «Farm to Table Wagyu Burger» that looks delicious! Maybe I’ll try that.

Excellent service. Great views. I recommend the crab cake, wagyu burger and the halibut. It’s definitely pricey for the area. The lobster pasta was average. The bone in rib-eye was gianormous and could have probably used a little more flavor for such a big piece of meat.

I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere, view, and food was really great. I was staying at the Marina Inn for business and found myself eating and drinking here every night. I recommend the lobster nachos and crab bisque. There are not a lot of better options that Kahills if you are in this area in my opinion unless you want chain food.

Normally when I think of restaurants attached to hotels, I’m underwhelmed. This place was quite different. The décor is a modern rustic look with seating on 2 levels looking out over the Missouri River. There is also a bar area to the right. The menu and drinks are top notch. There is not a large selection of draft beer here — only 4 on tap, but there is a fairly extensive wine list and a wide selection of spirits. The menu features, as expected, several cuts of steak including a thick filet mignon cut, T-bone, and prime rib. I dined here on two separate nights and had the Scottish salmon on one night, and the Airline chicken the other. Both were fantastic. The portions were just right and the meat was cooked to a nice tenderness. If you’re up for it, dessert is also excellent. I tried both the brownie soufflé as well as the crème brûlée. The soufflé is a HUGE portion, so make sure to split it with someone.
