Golden Gate Plumbing

I have been using Golden Gate Plumbing through work as well as in my home for several years now. Not only are they the only plumbing company I trust to use at home but I know the work is going to be done quick, right and NOT costing me an arm and a leg. Here at work, they are the only company that we refer to our residents. Just the other day we had a huge back up in one of our buildings. We didnt know that a resident had gone ahead and called their own plumber out– it was a disaster. We immediately called out GGP and they were here within ten minutes to take care of the initial problem as well as the mess that the previous plumber had made. Again, I would NEVER refer anyone to a plumbing company other than Golden Gate Plumbing!!!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOLDEN GATE PLUMBING.
BE WARNED! Before committing to Golden Gate, I recommend looking around for comparable pricing and service.
My wife and I had a HORRIBLE experience dealing with Golden Gate. With the exception of Mike (?), the second repairman we worked with, and to a certain extent, the owner, our dealing with Troy (the first repairman) was NOT GOOD.
Our tenants in our condo at Crown Colony in Daly City saw that their bathroom plumbing was leaking through the walls/​flooring affecting the tenant below them. My wife, on the recommendation of Crown Colony’s HOA, called Golden Gate. Troy came and assessed the issue saying all that need to be done was caulk areas around the tub. He CHARGED $ 300!
Later, we noticed that the issue was still going on, so Troy came back, tore out a huge portion of the drywall behind the tub (by the way, he did not measure at all; the back wall was a mess) and said that he would have to come back (with someone who was more knowledgeable) to fix the issue. My wife and tenant felt like he was taking advantage of them and even lied, when I finally spoke to him, about the times he came to the apartment.
In short, he charged a total $ 1700 (including $ 300) w/​out fixing the drywall.
I spoke to plumbers I worked with in the past about Golden Gate and they said that 1) Golden Gate overcharges and has their plumbers work on a commission (thus the high charges), 2) Previous employees of Golden Gate did not like their experience working there and 3) Because Golden Gate has the Crown Colony account, they can charge what they want.
I will hand it to the owner for «refunding» $ 400, but I STILL BELIEVE WE WERE OVERCHARGED. I spoke to other plumbers and they said they would have only charged $ 750 for the job.
AGAIN, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOLDEN GATE PLUMBING.
Golden Gate — I hope you learn your lesson and treat your customers better.

These folks stuck with me though a huge, complicated, plumbing emergency. I suspect they weren’t the cheapest way to go, but the quality of their service is well worth the extra price!
