Great pupusas and soup and a very nice owner. The great thing about this place is that they offer more than the standard fare of pupusas. They have zuchinni pupusas which when mixed with cheese is so yummy. Also try the chicharron(deep fried pork) with yucca and atol de elote(hot corn drink). Definitely recommended.

Very disappointed with Yuri’s customer service. We ordered a small sized order for four people that was pretty straight forward. Two beef soups, three pupusas and an order of yuca frita with pork. When we picked it up we asked if the order was ready and if everything was in it. We got the okay from staff and left to have dinner at home. Upon checking, husband noticed the yuca was missing the meat. We called in and they were confused about what I was asking. Annoyingly I drove back and received a small over-cooked piece of pork and a snide apology. When asked If I could get a refund he said I will give you two pupusas but you have to wait. I’m upset for mainly two reasons. The owner is an acquaintance and I would of hoped for better service! Secondly, the beef soup was made of chicken broth and it was gross with a bunch of fatty meat. Conclusively we won’t be back ever! I always wondered why this place was often empty because the food is okay. Now I know!!!

Came All the way from out of state because a family member recommended this place. Wow! There were 2 tables with a total of 4 guests in the entire restaurant. Why does it take an hour to ask if we want water or coffee? Service was horrible. Taco bell down the block was looking good after biting into the food. Maybe the owner should stop talking to his friend in the back. I read about a worker drinking… well, the waiter isn’t even hiding it! I’m guessing that’s why they can’t carry the food at once like every other restaurant. As far as the food, no joke, don’t waste your money. Pupusas were not greasy probably because they were warm and why was the cheese hard? The burrito was seriously disgusting. An easy to make quesadia was chewy tasted weird. Oh, this waiter took our water order 5 times. The water and my son’s hot chocolate came after they had finished as much as they could eat. But hey, the waiter was on a bar stool chugging his beer. Speaking of hot chocolate, why did my kid get a cup that was broken? Both owner and waiter kept passing by and not even looking our way. How lazy can these guys be when the owner is takin orders from one end of the table instead of going to each guests. Waiter brought One plate to the table and instead of setting it down at my son’s spot… since he was the only one w no food. the guy asks my older son and wife to pass it down. Dude! ! At least pop a mint or gum in your mouth! Your breath reeks of alcohol! ! Suggestion: make the place a bar and don’t make a fool of yourselves thinking you can run a restaurant.

I work at Genentech around the corner so it’s nice to go somewhere for lunch and not have it crazy busy. That being said, there was 1 guy who was the server, cashier, and cook. Props to him for handling it all but the wait to order, get our drinks, get our food, and get our check was longer than necessary. There were like 3 other tables in the restaurant and a ton of to-go orders. The food was delicious– I will definitely be back. Not sure if it was just understaffed this one day or if it’s always like that. The waiter was super friendly though!

We ordered bean & loroco pupusas, the plantain pies, and a hot chocolate. The plantain pies were kind of like donuts made with plantains instead of dough, and filled with a not-to-sweet coconut cream type thing. It was all awesome. Delicious and cheap, and the bathroom was surprisingly OK for a somewhat dingy place. If you’re looking for a really fine dining experience, you’ll hate it, but otherwise we thought it was awesome. We’ll be back!

Pupusas were amazing! Haven’t had them that good since my trip to El Salvador… My favorite is the cheese and zucchini pupusas. The owners are really nice too. However, the tap water they serve does not taste that great and service can be a little slow. If you order in advance it’s faster.

Pro’s– –Food’s great! –Nice employees –Loveeeee the chile relleno with meat!!! –Friendly service, be prepared with Spanish speaking skills. ;) Con’s– –Website inaccurate states open 7 days a week when really they’re only open 6 days a week –Arrived at 11:30am and the employee didn’t come inside the restaurant to open until 11:40am(they missed out on a few people who were there at 11:30 and left) Advice for their business: ESTABLISH a business professional and arrive before your restaurant actually opens!!!

I was just amazed how dirty the place is. The pupusas where good and service ok. But just the fact that people eat with their eyes first I wish they could do something for the place.

This is a neighborhood restaurant for us so we go there often. You can’t beat the price for the food. Papusas are fantastic. Also the grilled shrimp dish and try the Salvadorian enchiladas if you’ve never had them… nothing like the Mexican version. Service is very friendly but it is a little slow because they don’t have a big kitchen staff, so go when you just want to relax.

I went there for the first time on a friend’s recommendation. When I arrived, we were the only customers, so I would expect great service. However, the food was very slow to arrive. The waiter was pleasant, but did not give good service. He kept forgetting to bring things. I had to get his attention and remind him. I realized later why: he was ducking down behind the bar and drinking beer!!! So unprofessional!!! I realize this is not a high class restaurant, but that is basic. It makes you wonder what else they do wrong in the back where you can’t see. When we were ready to leave, I had to ask him 3 times for the check. I decided to pay in cash, because there was no way I was going to give him my credit card! The food was reasonably priced, and acceptable when it did arrive. I am not disappointed with that aspect of my visit. However, due to the terrible service, I will not be returning.

Picked up a half-dozen papusas to-go. They were fabulous; will have to come back for the dine-in experience at some point, looks like a friendly, comfortable place.

We found this place randomly. Way better then El Zocalo in south city. Why? Because the cheese they use in there pupusas is better, there not disgustingly greasy and there are so much faster and customer service is on point. Oh and it doesn’t take an hour. When we order from el zócalo it takes an hour to order out, it only took this place 15 minutes for 14 pupusas. Point being just go here. This place it good.

Yummy cheese Pupusas! As far as their meat, bean, & cheese Pupusas, they where lacking meat & beans. In all, if your in the mood for some yummy cheese Pupusas, then this is the place to come and eat other than that I left unsatisfied with the need to satisfy my hunger for meat and went around the corner to La Tapatia Mexicatessen food for some flavorful carne asada tacos! Now those where some yummy large tacos filled with lots of meat!!!

Legit Salvadorean food in a slightly sketch part of South city. Complete with delicious sauces and side fixings. I believe I got the cheese and bean one — way better than any of the meat ones. Trust the cheese.
