Please note this review is for the beginning of my orthodontic treatment – covering the consultation and the first appointment where the braces were put on. I will update this review with my thoughts after treatment is complete. This is the second time in my adult life that I will have had braces. The first time around I didn’t do very much in the way of research. This time was different. I decided to check out Horsley Orthodontics because I was specifically looking for an orthodontist who uses the Damon Bracket System(DBS). I’d had consultations with some other orthodontists who offer the DBS, but hadn’t been impressed enough to give them my business. My consultation appointment was handled very professionally and very thoroughly. I first spoke with a lady who told me about Horsley Orthodontics and got some background information from me. I then had some x-rays done by a very friendly technician. Once that was done, Doctor Horsley met with me, examined my situation, and told me the approach he would like to take. He was very friendly and did a thorough job of explaining everything and in answering all of my questions. Once that was finished, I again met with the first lady to discuss the financing options, costs, and briefly the type of brace treatments they offer(it was brief because I already knew that I wanted to use the DBS). She also went into more detail about what I could expect from the treatment itself. I walked away feeling very impressed by my experience. Fast forward three months and I was signed up and ready to get the braces on. Compared to my previous experience of having braces put on, this one was by far superior. The lady who did most of the work putting the brackets on was very friendly and knowledgeable. She explained everything she was doing as she did it and was did her best to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. She also made sure that I knew how to take care of any problems that might arise as well as how to care for my new oral investment. Some other things I’d like to point out: All the staff so far has been incredibly friendly and helpful. The interior is immaculately clean and has a really nice atmospheric feel to it(you know, as nice as you can get for a doctor type office). I noticed both times that it is a little chilly there; so, if you’re affected by temperature easily, a light jacket or hoody could be good to bring. They provide diapers in the bathrooms for babies/toddlers – which doesn’t really matter for me, but for someone with little kids this could be a plus. The wait time IS a little longer than I would have liked, both in the waiting room and in the times that Doctor Horsley was needed to attend to me while I got the braces put on. He also seemed a little hurried in the consultation appointment. It wasn’t something that was too off putting to me as I tend to expect a wait in most health care appointments, but I can see how this could be a problem for others, so something for a prospective patient to consider. In conclusion: The beginnings of my experience with Horsley Orthodontics has been a positive one. I feel that the customer service aspect has been top-notch; and, as far as Doctor Horsley and his staff’s knowledge and ability are concerned, I feel very confident in their care.

We have been thrilled with the level of care we’ve received over the past ten years with all our kids going to Dr. Horsley. His expertise even prevented one of our children from having to go through jaw surgery. They are friendly and have taken good care of us. I highly recommend them. I will agree with the other reviewer that the wait can be bad but it has been worth it.

Dr. Horsely is genuinely nice and he did a good job on my orthodontics; however, they always over schedule. You should expect to wait 45 minutes at least to get back in the chair. Staff is borderline rude at times and it’s frustrating to wait so long.
