This place was good before it became Pachanga Mexican Grill. Their fried ice cream was the shit and so much better than Boiling Crab.

This place is great! Really small restaurant right across the street from the Northgate market. Has a small parking lot, but, the owner always reserves a few spots for her customers which I think is great! Every time I’ve been here it hasn’t been crowded but the food is BOMB. Once you get over the whole ripping the heads off shrimp the food is AH-MAZING. It comes in a large bag and everything is separate, if you want potatoes, corn or sausage you have to add it in and it cost extra but well worth the extra cost. I highly recommend the spicy, it is SPICY but the mild didn’t have that delicious kick. I also recommend to bring wet wipes as the napkins and hand sanitizer that the owner gives is not enough! Owner is super friendly and attentive but overly attentive. Have already been back twice after my initial visit!

As we were parking I had doubt on walking in with my family. Glad I did! Service, food, & environment get a A+ in my book. Definitely coming back!

Ok, here it go lol I got my food to go. I ordered shrimp, corn & sausage $ 17 even But got home with POTATOES instead of corn :/ As far as taste of seasoning, it wasn’t bad for the area. It’s not much variety around. It was a little bit on the salty side than flavorful. This place isn’t as good as boiling crab but if you aren’t up to the drive and live local, it’s worth it to get something to go or chill. I suggested Groupon but could tell the owner had no clue what I was referring to but to have only 3 customers on a Saturday hopefully someone help her find it!

Way too salty! Ordered 1 pound of the shrimp with potatoes and corn covered in the mild Cajun sauce and was extremely disappointed. The quality of the shrimp was good, and the corn tasted okay, but the Cajun sauce ruined it. I love spicy foods and sauces but this tasted like salt with spice being an afterthought. Don’t come here!

Honestly I didn’t even know this place was on Unilocal or I would have reviewed it a long time ago. My husband & I have been coming to this establishment since it opened. We live around the corner thankfully, so it makes it very convenient. Annie is the Best and is extremely proud of her little restaurant. I have been very happy with the food every single time we order there. I even had my last Birthday here. I recommend it to all of my friends because I know it is good quality food for the price. I always order the steamed crab legs; which are ALWAYS fresh and VERYBIG. No opilio crab nothing but King crab legs. I highly recommend if you are ever in the neighborhood try this little treasure.

The food is not that great. I didn’t enjoy it. They do have great customer service. That’s something that I limed about this place. When I had went it was empty. We were the only ones in there. Their corn on the cob and dessert was good. The flavor of the shrimp was not good. I had a hard time eating it. Their fries are not good. If I would have known what they put on them I would have just asked for plain fries. I enjoy the boilong crab more. The only reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is because of their great customer service, cleaness, and because of their dessert and corn on the cob.

I love this place. I have been to boiling crab so many times and have been to San Pedro for years. So I know my seafood. The seasoning is a bit different from Boiling Crab but it was definitely refreshing to try this place. They actually used real jalapeño peppers and onions in their sauce. The service was fantastic. The owner is really nice and very accommodating. I would definitely go back because of that. It’s not crowded and it’s easy in and out. They also have TVs all over the place. The sauce isn’t as thick as Boiling Crab but the shrimps are definitely fresher here. Trust me, I peel and eat the shrimp heads so I can tell the different. They also don’t overcook the shrimp here. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura. It’s not like regular Shrimp Tempura from Sushi places. It has a thicker batter. I don’t think they used Panko. They used flour but I still liked it. So if you want something quick, easy and live in the area and don’t want to drive to Koreatown, I’d try this place. There’s absolutely no problem with parking and you don’t have to wait over an hour. Lastly, the restrooms are past the kitchen. Their kitchen is sparkling clean. I was really impressed.

Wanna give this place ZERO damn stars! Boiling crab is the number one spot. This food is HORRIBLE! I wouldn’t suggest it to my worst enemy! Idk wth they think they’re serving but plz, do us a favor and learn how to cook better. Thanks. I suggest going to boiling crab if you want some TOPNOTCH sea food.

Still great! Screw bad reviews. I get having a bad day here and there. No place is perfect but I have had Boiling Crab and this is just as good. I get the shrimp and crab legs with sausage potato and corn(Medium) No complaints. Look at the score. You can’t go wrong.

I was at a friends’s house in South Gate yesterday and because of the reviews we decided to check this place out… I tell you, I was soooo disappointed! Some reviews saying it was better than boiling crab so I went in with high expectations. I though the shrimp was kind of white and not much flavor. Small and not that many for the pound and It also had so much onions on everything! Well to finish it up, I saw a little cockroach walking on the wall… I hope that came in because the doors were open the entire time. I left with a bad feeling and will not return for sure.

Im Pretty disappointed in this place. After reading that alot of the reviewers liked this place more than The Boiling Crab, I figured i would go for it and give it a try with my sister. Result: Alot of the reviewers have no tastes. We walked in and the woman who greeted us was very nice, but good customer service doesnt mean good food. After we ordered, the food came kinda fast but it didnt look as colorful as i would have expected. The Flavor wasnt bold and was a little bland. It was very sweet. It wasnt horrible, but it was«ok». When going out to eat, one always wants to feel like their money was well spent. In this case, money not well spent, Could of gone to boiling crab, there would have been a wait but the food would of been bomb! Overall, Lesson learned. most likely wont go back here.

Finally had the opportunity to come to this place and I must say, I was not disappointed. My friend and I got a pound of shrimp with sausage, corn and potatoes. We also decided to get a side of jambalaya. The shrimp was great and well seasoned. If you haven’t been to a restaurant like this you need to know you are going to get your hands dirty, literally. From my practice at the Boiling Crab I have become somewhat of an expert peeling shrimp. Make sure you don’t wear some fancy outfit if you come here, although you do get hooked up with a huge bib so you’ll be alright. The jambalaya was more like fried rice with sausage, chicken and shrimp. Don’t get me wrong it was good, but it didn’t remind me of creole food. It might be because I was expecting something similar to gumbo so I might have already had a predisposition about what I was expecting. Make sure to take your marker or a pen so you can write your name on the walls. The lady, who I’m assuming owns the place is super nice. Will definitely be back. Wish there were more options on the menu, but they are doing what they do right so keep it up!

Excellent flavors. I order shrimp and crab legs. Cajun Medium Spicy. The corns were so tasty too So so good. I went when it open so it wasn’t anyone there. Nice owners. They only serve water, beer, Arizona drink and soda. I must go back and this time with my partner in crime. DAUGHTER. Whooo wee I don’t have to go wait in a line for my shrimps.

Reading all the reviews, decided to take my girlfriend here, who is the biggest foodie I have ever met. Wanted to surprise her and show her that I can pick a great place, even better than Boiling Crab, which she lives right next to. Drove there from the valley, and while the food was good, I don’t know it it was worth the drive. Girlfriend liked it, but not as much as Boiling Crab, compared to the distance that we have to drive for each. The lady, while very friendly at first, got upset when we asked to look at our bill a second time. According to our calculation, it would’ve been $ 21, but we ended up paying $ 27.41, excluding the tip. Overall, good, quaint, little place. Not sure if I would go there again, unless I am close to it.

This is a great newish little place. Both the food and service are awesome. Ann is very sweet and attentive. The menu is small but it’s all about quality not quantity. I’ve tried the crawfish, shrimp, catfish, cajun fries, corn and chicken wings. I usually don’t eat wings but I had these and they were the best. I couldn’t stop eating them lol The fries aren’t oily which is a plus. Their boiled food is just as good or better than at the boiling crab. The catfish filet is moist yet crunchy. So far there haven’t been any lines to get in which is also awesome. I hope this place survives this economy cuz its great: D

The owner, Ann, is originally from New Orleans, so she knows all about friendly, accommodating service and good food. Favorites: — Fried Chicken Wings — Shrimp with Cajun Sauce — Clams with Lemon Butter — Fried Catfish — Be sure to add potatoes, corn and sausage to your boiled seafood! They don’t have a liquor license yet, so get in there and BYOB as soon as you can. They also have TVs all over the place!
