Hollyhock

Great selection of cards. Gifts for adults and children of all ages. The staff are friendly and remember you, not something that happens at many stores any more. Live in town so it is my go to shop for cards, gift wrap, and gift bags. Also often buy gifts for children here. So glad this shop seems to florish, just love it!

Hollyhock has a charming selection of stationery&gifts, but it’s pretty pricey. One of their entrances is a stiff door, so I come through the main entrance. There’s gift wrap, baby wear, wedding presents. It’s an astounding variety, but the cards are as expensive as Whole Foods, even if they’re not artistic photos by local artists.

If it’s a wide variety of high-​quality greeting cards that you want, Hollyhock is the go-​to place in Sonoma to find that one special creation. I’ve also dropped in on Hollyhock to find stickers, stationery, and small gifts. I put together a friend’s housewarming gift themed on lavender by browsing this store’s shelves. I’m heading over there this morning to get the 2013 version of a datebook I bought from them last year and really liked. Do come prepared to pay a nice price for all the pretty things you desire.
Staff assistance and attention has been spotty. Sometimes I get a friendly welcome; other times I’m ignored. Depending on whether you’re in the mood to be left alone or the mood to get all chatty and chummy while you shop, this could be a good or bad thing.
I’m so glad that Hollyhock is here for us. I truly believe that it fills a need in our little town.

I come here for a last minute card or wrapping need when in Sonoma. I try to avoid coming to this store because I always like I’m being watched and sometimes followed by the staff.
Note to clerk… If you want people to spend lots of money in your store don’t make them feel uncomfortable by following them around if they didn’t ask you for assistance…

Overpriced, kitchy, elegant, embellished.
That’s Hollyhock. The papyrus of Sonoma, you will find gorgeous paper, stationery, way past expensive gift bags and wrapping, cutesy stuffed things, baby wears, lavish gifts and just beautiful packages.
All the stuff that you get for people that you would love to keep, if you had room for crap that has absolutely NO use, but looks nice.
I come for the unique paper supplies, emergency beautiful gifty items and cards — am always robbed, but happy with the quality and look.
