Leana is fantastic. Since moving to the area over two years ago, I have been searching for the right stylist. I finally found her! I have been wanting a previous style back (a simple graduated bob) and it seems no one could get it right. Leana got me from day one and now my hair is *exactly* what I wanted. She takes the time to listen to me, and I can tell by the time she takes cutting and shaping that she truly cares about getting it right. I am excited that she will start coloring my hair as well. Next visit! I live in Vallejo, but do not mind a bit driving to Sonoma so that Leana can cut my hair.

Very upsetting. hair cut with the owner. After telling her to trim the back and just check the sides for uneven ends but keep it longer in front. she clipped me into a dutch boy look. When I tried to stop her from taking more from the sides, she said she had to ‘blend’ it with the back. I said she had control over how much she cut the back and she was making it way too short on the sides for a bob longer in front. Finally I had to say stop cutting. Then she asked if I wanted my bangs cut. No more cutting please I said. She got very angry when she saw that I was distressed by the sides the same length as the back. She wanted to put products on my hair. I declined, saying it weighed down my fine hair. Then she blamed the flat blowout on no products, the side of my hair on my hair texture. I reminded her when I came I had lots of volume and sides down to my chin! Just when I was asking myself if I had to pay for this, she announced, pulling off my apron that I wouldn’t be coming back again, there’d be no charge. I was the worst customer she’d had in 35 years. I couldn’t believe it and said I’d let the referral friend know about her. As I was leaving, she put her hands on me to make further snide remarks. I patter her back and said, keep your hands off me. Oh, keep your hands off, she mocked me to her daughter. I will never return. In two months, I’ll have the back trimmed and maybe have the cut I asked for. but the insults from her were unprofessional, bad tempered, and foolish to do in a small town. Her daughter had cut my hair once and done a great job.

I got a great cut from Kelly here. She was able to fit me in the same day and put the shape back in my short hair. She also used a conditioning mask on my hair that has made it so shiny and frizz-​free the last few days — at no extra cost. Great atmosphere, and the clients really seem to know their stylists. Definitely a fan!

Thank you fellow Unilocalers!!! You were right about Leanna, she’s fantastic! The salon is peaceful and pleasant and Leanna was patient and kind. I must add that my hair was in desperate need of a lot of help and Leanna delivered. A great experience from beginning to end.

Leanna has done my hair a few times now and I walk out feeling like my hair looks healthy, shiny and with great natural color! She knows color and she knows hair type — not to mention that it lasts longer than 4 wks! I have fine, curly and a little frizzy at times hair and her products are the best. She knows what she’s doing!

I’d like to add my voice to the chorus of praise and appreciation for Leana. I too found her in Berkeley and am now more than happy to drive to Sonoma for her services and her delightful company. She has been doing my highlights/​lowlights for years now and is working with my changing hair as more grey (or as she diplomatically calls it, platinum) mixes in with the brown. I always leave her shop looking and feeling better than when I arrived, and I love to have someone I respect and admire doing my hair. Yay, Leana!

Leanna is the best stylist in the bay area. She gave me a great cut, and for the first time in years, I have hair that is not a daily source of misery and anxiety.
I have longish hair, and she put in very well-​blended layers that give my hair movement, and my usually frizzy hair is now more manageable and low-​maintenance. She was also very generous with her advice on how to get my hair back into good condition.
Unfortunately, Leanna has since moved and the person she referred me to was not so great.

I am so happy I found Leana! I had to leave my hairdresser of 7 years a few years ago and thought I would never find anyone as good. But then I met Leana, and she turned out to be everything I was looking for — extremely talented, with a great vision and the warmest personality ever. She understands exactly what you need (even if you have trouble explaining) and the result is always amazing. I am so in love with my hair now! I would highly recommend Leana to anyone.
P. S. and she gives the best head massage I’ve ever had!

Leana has been my stylist for over four years, obviously I like her work! I have curly hair which can be disastrous if under the wrong pair of hands. Leana listens to what I want and adds her suggestions as well. She is truly an artist when it comes to color. The color always looks natural and it really blends in when it starts growing out. The next best thing about Leana besides her skills with shears and foils is her personality! I’m never bored when I’m in her chair – there is always something to talk about, whether it’s her beautiful kids, business, celebrity gossip, or fashion. I moved up to Sonoma county a few years ago and I’m so happy she moved too! Love the new digs! S. Cutright is always the right choice for me!

WooHoo! As good as it gets! That certainly explains my experience at S. Cutright Salon! I was lucky enough to get my hair done by Leana McShane and was blown away by the results! Usually it takes a new hairdresser a while to get to know my hair, but Leana is a true professional! She amazed me the first time I saw her! Her use of color is amazing and produced fabulous results and the cut she gave me exceeded my expectations (giving me all that I want in a haircut– movement, body and lots of style). She has worked in Berkeley for quite some time and it shows in her style.
Leana stays very up to date with all the latest styles and techniques, giving her an edge in sonoma county! Not only is she amazing as a hairdresser, but she is super personal as well (not a snob as one might expect from someone so cool!), making my experience such a pleasurable one! The salon is wonderful and I love that they carry more ‘eco friendly’ products. They even save hair clippings to send away to help absorb oils out of the ocean!
Getting your hair done should be an enjoyable experience– it is a chance to be *pampered*. Leana made this happen and I would highly recommend that you go to see her!
