Nothing special. It says they closed so I’m not surprised. We went here because it came with a package deal to the fairmont but the food was very average and over priced. If I wanted an omelette that was high end(as is to be expected from an area like sonoma) I would choose a different location

Best service, Best breakfast! Farmers market omelet is the best. Elizabeth is the most knowledgeable friendliest server I have ever had the pleasure to serve me. Veronica is also super friendly and always remembers my name. I am going to miss the Big 3 building but happy to know I will still be able to find my favs inside the hotel.

Best breakfast I have had in a long time. Spinach & mushroom omelet was outstanding so we’re the lemon pancakes.

Well my husband and I went to Big 3 for a drink and snack before our massage at the spa. We were greeted by Stephen, the manager/bartender. He seated us at the bar and was so professional, friendly and entertaining! I didn’t know what to order but wanted something I’d never tried before… He made me a French 75… it was amazing and my husband loved the Bloody Mary’s. We sat and chatted with Stephen for well over an hour, they weren’t busy and his customer service was above and beyond and it started our overnight get away off the best possible way! Thank you Stephen for your generosity, friendliness and professionalism!!! We hope to see you again soon

Thought this would be good for Christmas Day breakfast to treat our parents to. Waited ½ hour to be seated. The food was ok, small portions for high price. The thing that blew my mind was the service. Soooo bad. First thing we ordered was coffee, asked for cream. By the time the cream arrived the coffee was cold. It went from bad to worse. Got tired of waiting for our check in front of dirty dishes so we went the front and asked for our check. I told the hostess how disappointed we were and she said«sorry» They really should spend the money for some bussers and manage their front of the house better! I don’t think that The Fairmont would want this place as a reflection of the hotel. Won’t be back.

Some Vegan options, which is very nice. They have organic soy mylk — a plus. The granola was okay. I did not favor the tofu scramble, as it was oniony. Soy latte was okay. Could be sweeter(cinnamon & vanilla would be nice). The french fries are not Vegan as they go in a shared fryer. ;-( Atmosphere is so so. Not on par with rest of hotel, that’s for sure. Needs remodel. Furniture is old & gross. Needs to be re-upholstered. Booths are ugly. Food does not feel fresh & organic.

Have been coming here once a year for breakfast. Unfortunately it had gone downhill. My favorite Meyer lemon pancakes were not up to par this time so I was really disappointed. The prices are also expensive for breakfast. Likely won’t be coming back again.

The service is incredibly slow. I didn’t realize it was connected to the fairmont hotel, so knowing that, I would have expected a little better service. Out waiters were def very nice but we had to reask for the coffee creamer and water 3 different times… Too bad

I debated on this one between 3 and 4 stars. I decided to go with the I’m a Fan because it is pretty good for breakfast and is very convenient when staying at the Fairmont. We had breakfast twice and ended up having Thanksgiving dinner here because the buffet in the hotel was sold out. Breakfast was very good. I had Eggs Benedict the first morning and the Big 3 breakfast the second. The Eggs Benedict was one of the best I have had ever. The poached eggs were just a tad too runny for my taste(I had ordered them«firm») but the Hollandaise was near perfect. It was light and creamy with a very slight hint of lemon. The ham was tasty and the English Muffin was substantial in size and held up well to the sauce. The Big 3 breakfast is a traditional two eggs any style(I had mine over medium) choice of meat(I had bacon) and choice of bread(I had English muffin). The eggs were perfect. Firm whites and runny yokes. The bacon was crisp and smokey with hints of maple and pepper. The butter for the bread is served separately in a little dish and there was an assortment of jams in classy little jars. Oh, and they serve fresh squeezed orange juice and halfway decent coffee. Service was excellent. Both mornings we had Elizabeth as our server and she treated us like family the second time. The second day they were very busy and we had to wait a bit for our order. We were offered refills on our juice(no extra charge) and the coffee pot was kept on the table. The whole vibe is an odd combination of dive coffee shop(60’s era décor, booths, open bar) and little touches of elegance(little jars of jam, pepper grinder, real cream in a mini pitcher). What almost brought the whole thing down to a three star rating was the Thanksgiving dinner. The service was good, the waitress attentive, and they have some pretty nice wines available, but the food was just so so. The turkey was just OK. It was a very generous portion, but had no particular taste. It was real turkey, but tasted processed. The mashed potatoes were ho hum, the stuffing was terrible as was the cranberry sauce. The best part were the vegetables on the side — fresh and crisp with just a hint of butter. I guess they are not usually open for dinner. I would recommend this restaurant for breakfast if you are staying at the hotel. It is a bit pricy for a basic breakfast, but worth it for the quality and the convenience.

My last visit here was so extremely disappointing. We are locals who have been going to the big 3 for years, decades actually. They have always had delicious food at reasonable prices. I haven’t been here in about 2 years and my girlfriends and I were so excited to find time to go back. We went for a Sunday lunch. 2 of us got the California scramble and 2 of us got the Cobb salad. We were surprised to see the prices had gone up significantly. I don’t think there was a single entrée under $ 17. Fish tacos were $ 22 are you kidding me? I didn’t add prawns to my Cobb since that would have made it a $ 25 lunch salad. When the salad arrived we were shocked. It was tiny. I’m a very slow eater and was done in 5 minutes. There’s was probably 5 little shreds of lettuce in there. It was less than half the size of a typical Cobb. My one star is because we had a good server but other than that there was nothing redeeming about this place. They just lost 4 local customers and they’re going to lose a whole lot more. They already have a very upscale restaurant inside the hotel I just don’t understand why they have to make the Big 3 the same way. Too bad.

Six years since my previous review. Food quality has gone down significantly. Tough & chewy hangar steak. Meager Cesar salad. Overpriced glasses of wine. Now closes at 2pm. No dinner service. Service spot on. Friendly & swift. Room décor tired and forlorn. Go into Sonoma for a better tasting and lower priced breakfast or lunch.

I have dined here over the years and have always had a delicious meal. However I was quite surprised at the lack of enthusiasm this place now projects overall. You walk into a very forlorn looking space filled with old«living room style» furnishings. Looks like a mash up of old thrift store furniture. Not inviting at all. They used to have a really great gift store in this space, but I learned that the Fairmont decided to forego that for a big«nothing» space. We were greeted by a friendly host who seated us close to the front rather than letting us sit in the larger, more open part of the dining room, even though the dining room was almost empty. We had the Travelzoo coupon and ordered right off the menu. The prices here are pretty steep, even for wine country. Hubby Tom had the hangar steak and frites. The steak was flavorful but very tough and chewy. The frites were some of the best we have tasted. Creamy inside and crispy on the outside. We also had the Caesar salad which was quite good and I ordered the fresh grilled halibut with greens. The halibut was cooked perfectly. The Tiramisu dessert was not my favorite as it was mostly a bowl of whipped cream — not much else. Overall the food was very good, but I just kept feeling like the«soul» is missing from this restaurant. It seems like the Fairmont Corp has just basically forgotten that they own this restaurant. So, without a coupon we most likely won’t be going back as their prices are just way too high for us. We have so many other great restaurants to choose from here in Sonoma County with the same quality food and much lower prices.

It is unfortunate that we didn’t like it here because we had heard recommendations on the crab benedict and lemon ricotta pancakes. First, we started with buffalo wings. They were soggy and just tasted a little too vinegary. There was steam coming out which seemed like they just microwaved it. For $ 15 for about maybe 8 pieces, it was a HUGE disappointment.(worst wings I’ve ever had in fact) I was looking forward to the crab benedict and it was unfortunately just ok. They were very slow in service(My husband just got an egg plate so I assume it was my dish that took a long time to prepare). The dish wasn’t seasoned at all. So I would recommend it for people who are on low-sodium diets, but there was no flavor to it. I don’t believe food should be overseasoned, but the hollendaise sauce was bland, the crab was bland, everything was bland. They were very generous with the crab, but I’m not convinced they didn’t just get the crab from a can given our experience with the wings. For a restaurant associated with the Fairmont brand, I just expected much much more and got much much less.

We stayed at the Fairmont for the weekend and visited The Big 3 for breakfast one morning, and then ordered in food from it the other mornings and every day was great. Fantastic healthy options for the mornings, and a fruit cup you’ll actually WANT to eat(raspberries, blueberries, kiwi, green apples, grapes, cantaloupe, tangerines, etc) cut into small bites and topped with fresh mint. The huevos rancheros were good(black beans were smoked and flavorful) and the corn tortillas were fresh and warm. Mimosas were strong and filled with fresh orange juice, as was pretty much everything we ordered. In terms of filing up for a morning of outdoor or spa activities in the area, this is certainly the place to go. And the room service is just as good as the restaurant service, and brings The Big 3’s breakfast menu right to your bedside.

Are you in Vegas? It feels like it when you come here. The tables and the servers are dressed like Vegas tables. The famous cottage cheese and lemon pancakes were overly sweet and weird as the cottage cheese pieces were rubbery. The coffee was okay but if we didn’t have a food credit, I would have been upset when they told me about the $ 54 dollars for breakfast. Luckily, there was a credit and it was $ 4. It was worth $ 4, not $ 54. Stay away if you are staying at the Fairmont. I would drive somewhere else, immediately, and not look back.

It’s a go to breakfast spot as a neighborhood place. We earn a discount for living nearby and I like that’s it’s always open for Breakfast. It can accommodate larger groups, has TV set up in the lounge area, and is on the edge of the Fairmont property with its own parking lot. It has a lot of history as well and I’m glad it’s been kept up and is still running here in Sonoma.

This is the diner adjacent to the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. The food is good but a bit pricey. It cost $ 16.50 for an omelette and it’s not that big. On a good note they have the lemon cottage pancakes. It’s thin and really good. The menu also offers healthy options with gluten free and organic items. The bacon was a real turn off being so little and over cooked. It might as well be one long bacon bit strip. If you’re staying at the hotel this is pretty much your only option unless you order room service or head downtown to the square. I would come again if anything for the macaroons!

Come for the service. It’s a really upscale diner owned by the Fairmont. Back in the day, it really was a diner, but now it’s just the slightly less expensive alternative to the main dining room at the Sonoma Miaaion Inn(Fairmont) to eat breakfast. Coffee is good, but nothing really stands out, except genuinely lovely service. They do serve lunch and dinner, but I think awfully pricey, even for Sonoma.

Be prepared the Big 3 is not a diner! It is a fine restaurant. It is part of the Sonoma Mission Inn. Had breakfast there. It was delicious and service was excellent. If you are a local and you simply want a meal, then the Big 3 is not for you. This is a place for guests and people visiting the wine country area for the very first time.
