Third winery my husband and I visited on our very first trip to Sonoma together. Came in because they have a later closing time than most tasting rooms! Wines were good but none of them stood out enough for us to buy a bottle. Friendly service and casual atmosphere.

Love this place. The service, the wine, the hours. I have been a member here on and off for a couple years now, and can’t stay away. I have never had a wine from here I didn’t like, and many of them I simply love. The prices are reasonable. Better yet, they’re open later than many of the other wineries in the area, so its a perfect last stop before dinner. Finally, the staff is great; talkative and knowledgeable. Highly recommended! And don’t forget bocce ball out back!

As a San Franciscan, wine country visits and tasting are common. I popped into Adobe while trying to evade the deluge this past Sunday night in the Sonoma main square, while family was shopping next door. I sat my wet a@@ at the counter, and was greeted by a nice young man. Ordered the tasting, and tried 5 wines, two whites I forget the first one but the second one was a Viognier, and three reds: Grenache, Cabernet Franc and a Zin. The guy behind the counter was very friendly, informative, and professional. He explained for every pour the wine varietal, where it comes from, and how it is made. When I told him I enjoy Viognier among whites, he poured me the 2013 on the list(I must admit the experiment Adobe did on this wine was not met by my approval), and then pulled out a bottle of the 2014 vintage for me to compare(much better by the way and in fact he said Adobe went back to a more classic Viognier formula). The 2014 are not released until May ’16, and it was not on the list so I appreciated the treat. Grenache and Zin were OK, but the Cabernet Franc was really good, and I bought a bottle — if you purchase you don’t pay the tasting fee. The owner happened to stop by(Kevin), and made it a point to say hello to me and all others in the room. Nice touch.

I don’t get the bad reviews for these guys — I’m going to chalk them up to «user error» and if you’re reading this looking for a place to try on the Square, you need to try them. This is a long overdue review — we’ve been in several times and after our first experience we liked it so much we joined their club. All the wine is good, top notch and not something we bring out for just an everyday drink. What I like the best here are the people that work here. We have never had any issues with them and more times than not we end up staying to play bocce ball in the back enjoying a couple glasses. So, ignore the haters and make your own decisions — bottom line, get in and try these guys!

Can’t accommodate 11 people at 6PM, in an empty tasting room on October 17th because the fella just didn’t want to have to work late. Was going to sign up for the club, but I won’t support a place like this.

A group of friends and I made this our last stop today and the staff could not have been ruder. We were excited to try the wines after a friend recommended them. The website reads«walk-ins welcome» When our group of nine came in late in the day, we were turned away although the tasting room was pretty much empty. I come to Sonoma on a regular basis and have never had a poor experience, so this a disappointment. The blonde gentleman who shooed us out, could use a serious attitude check. Disappointed and won’t be back.

Friendly staff, great wine(cab franc was awesome), comfortable tasting room, nice outdoor patio with corn hole and bocce ball. $ 20/person for a flight of 5. Generous pours and a nice spot to relax and make it worth your while. We’ll recommend and be back!

Great spot on the Sonoma Square for some tasting. It was pretty quiet when I came with my boyfriend which ended up being great because we were able to learn more about the wine. The price of the tasting was a bit steep for my liking, $ 20 for 5 – 6 tastes, but I am also used to $ 5 – 10 at many wineries. We ended up splitting the taste which is a nice way to experience the flavors without the buzz. The wines were delicious and different in their flavors, all very smooth and easy to drink. I think my favorite part was the gorgeous bar made from planks of redwood and supported by wine barrels.

The best Sauvignon Blanc I have had of the many wineries I have been to. Solid wines all around at reasonable prices.

okay wines, but the kid that served us was so bizarre it made me uncomfortable. He may have a neurological disorder and if so, I do apologize, but I am almost certain that he was on drugs — psychedelic drugs, like mushrooms or ecstasy. His eyes widened dramatically when he would pour, he kept chewing on his lips and playing with his tongue… all the mannerisms one would see at say a rave(if those still exist). He wasn’t very attentive and when he was he had a hard time standing up straight. there are way too many wineries out here to waste time on this again.

I was so disappointed after learning my appointment at Hendry winery was mis-scheduled. Trying to make lemonade out of lemons I decided to check out Adobe Wines which I had taken note of at a dinner at Morton’s. Wow, I am so glad I landed up at Adobe. We ordered both tasting flights, the regular and the reserve, and I enjoyed every glass which is a surprise as I normally don’t like certain varietals. Alec was funny and informative and we had a great time in addition to picking up some great wines. As Adobe Road is unavailable where I live except if I visit a Morton’s, I decided to join the wine club which meant our tastings were free and I got a discount on our bottles. I couldn’t be happier how it all turned out and am looking forward to receiving my reds!

Most tasting rooms in Sonoma was rooms, where you stand at the bar, and sample the wines. Adobe has this, but then it also has a great back yard area with corn hole, and best of all, bocce. Adobe is also open a bit later than the other tasting rooms on the Plaza, so made for a great late afternoon spot. We set up for our tasting outside, and played a game of bocce while the person at Adobe was nice enough to make the trip in and outside to keep our tasting going while we also played our game. They are known for their Zinfandels, which are great, and we stocked up on a few bottles before leaving. Great spot, and a bit different than the traditional tasting experience. The wine is so good, I think those that work there tend to enjoy it a bit too!

Stop by the Adobe Road Winery, enjoy the flight of wines and get a glass of wine and relax in their secret back patio. And a great local treasure is they have a Bocce court and when we have an afternoon off, this is a go to place for each myself and guests. We love sending people over to taste their wines~

Great location right on Sonoma square. Adobe has a nice and relaxed atmosphere and was a great place to kick back and have some tasty wines after a day of tastings out at the vineyards. Tara behind the bar was very helpful knowledgeable of their selections. Start with the Cabs which are a little pricer but worth it. Definitely recommend this spot to relax after Sonoma valley. Nice patio too but was closed on account of the frigid(40 deg.) California winter. Oh Californians… :)

Their 2009 Cabernet Franc(which is on the reserve list) is fantastic. We went on a weekend and it wasn’t too crowded at all. Adobe is a cute, intimate little spot that has a tiny back patio that we used to drink 3 bottles of their Franc as we munched on cheeses and cured meats. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome as we proceeded to spend out entire afternoon there without heading out to any other wineries. It was just what I needed; a kick-back, relaxing atmosphere with good food, good people, and fantastic wines. On the way out we picked up two more bottles of the Franc. It is GOOD!

This was one of the first wineries that we came to and to be honest, it was a little disappointing. It was around 3 pm when we came in and empty… so that should have been the first sign as there were lines to get into some of the other ones in the area. I guess to sum up the experience, I would say this place was awkward to come to. It was hard to make conversation with the people who worked there, conversations were forced, and they didn’t tell us much about the wines unless we asked. We tried 4 or 5 different wines(can’t remember) but none of them really stood out to me. They weren’t bad… but none of them were particularly memorable. The woman did give a couple of great dinner recommendations though so that was a plus. This place was really cute but given how extraordinary some of the service was at the others, I’m not sure I’d come back here.

This was the shop right in front of us when we stopped in downtown Sonoma, so we decided to get a wine tasting here. We seemed to overwhelm the shoplady a bit, although all she did was pour us wine, so I’m not sure what her deal was. Shop was cute though, with a bar area and a picnic table for communal wine tasting. $ 15 for 5 wines(pre-selected). I wasn’t a huge fan of any of them, to be honest, and it was kind of hit-or-miss for the group. I’m sure they’re aware of this, but the wine tasting is free if you end up buying a bottle, and one of their wines was $ 15/bottle(the Grenache), so obviously everyone walked out with a bottle of this. Free bottle of wine!
