This place is a hidden gem! Absolutely amazing food and the best pizza down the shore. I frequent this place quite often and can honestly say, i haven’t found any bad on the menu. Everything I have tried from salads, sandwiches, to pasta dinners is phenomenal. Please treat yourself and stop here for amazing authentic Italian down the beach. This place is freshly renovated and has an amazing and helpful staff. Definitely a must!

Hadn’t been to this place in quite a while and decided to go there tonight for dinner with my husband. My previous review in 2013 was 4 stars, but it seems like things have changed since then. My husband ordered the BBQ chicken stromboli and I decided to get the baked gnocchi. The description of the gnocchi on the menu was gnocchi and ricotta with meat sauce and mozzarella. When I placed my order with the server, Victoria, I asked her if I could get it with marinara sauce since I don’t eat red meat. I specifically said that I still wanted the ricotta. Victoria said it wouldn’t be a problem. My dinner came with a choice of soup or salad and I decided to get the broccoli cheddar soup. The soup was a nice portion, but it was just OK — it was kind of thin, and had a bland flavor that made it taste like something you would get in the prepared foods section at the grocery store. There was only half of a small loaf of bread in the bread basket; kind of ridiculous for two adults eating at an Italian restaurant, and we eventually asked our server to bring us some more. My gnocchi arrived and I discovered it had no ricotta in it. I mentioned it to the server and apologized and said that the kitchen had a «new system» and it must not have gotten entered correctly. She said she knew that I had said that I still wanted the ricotta. She went back to talk to the kitchen, then came back and said that the chef had said that he «assumed» I didn’t want ricotta because they never mix ricotta and marinara. I asked the server if she could adjust the price of my entrée since I didn’t get the ricotta or the meat sauce — the entrée with meat sauce and ricotta is priced at $ 13.95. She spoke with the owners and returned to say that they would take $ 1.00 off the price because that was the price of the ricotta. I told her I didn’t want to be a pain but I didn’t understand why they wouldn’t take more off because I didn’t get the meat sauce either. She said it because they didn’t charge me for my «substitution» of marinara for meat sauce. I said it didn’t make sense since meat sauce is obviously more expensive than marinara. She must have relayed my disappointment to the owners again because soon a complimentary order of zeppole arrived. When I paid the bill, the owner did apologize and repeated the thing about not mixing ricotta and marinara. I said that a lot of other restaurants around here make things like baked penne with ricotta and marinara. He said, «They use tomato sauce, not marinara.» I said, «I didn’t know you made a distinction here between tomato sauce and marinara.» He said, «It’s not a distinction. It’s the way we enter it in the system.» I looked at the menu again and noticed that they charge the same price for pasta with marinara as they do pasta with tomato sauce. The owner gave me some take out coupons, but I won’t be using them nor will I be returning to this restaurant. First of all, don’t make assumptions about what the customer wants — ask. Secondly, I don’t think anything would have been done to make up for the error if I hadn’t mentioned it to my server(whom I don’t blame at all for this thing by the way). Thirdly, it’s bad customer service to argue with a customer over something that was your mistake. One last thing — the owner I spoke with was not the pleasant gentleman, Gianni, I remembered from my visits in the past. Turns out this guy is the new owner as of June.

The pizza is inedible. I am a big guy and can eat just about anything… but the pizza was horrible. I made through half a slice and left. The cheese left a bad synthetic taste in my mouth. My wife only could handle one bite and threw in the towel.

Im kinda missing something here. This has nothing on Philly area places which im used to. The name is Italian street and they dont know how to make a proper Italian hoagie/sub. Wawa’s is even better. They dont put prosciutto or genoa salami on it. Im pretty sure it’s cooked salami which is a damn violation. The meat that is in there is very little! For $ 8 id expect meat in there!!! Shit!(See photo) And whoever made my sandwich didnt clean the knife from the prior sandwich cause there was mustard around the cut marks… yuck. I heard the rest of their food is subpar as well but as far as their sandwiches… hell no! Update: unfortunately my office ordered again from here again. Pizza was delivered room temp and the italian wedding soup was mainly liquid with no pasta involved. Other reviews must be paid for or people are deprived. I dont get it.

Ordered a whole pizza tonight-half pepperoni and half plain. It was the best pizza I have tasted close to home and I live in egg harbor township. Beats primos pizza by miles! I walked in and was immediately greeted by two nice woman. I am not one to write a review just on pizza but I had a great experience when I was only there for five minutes waiting ! The pizza has the perfect amount of sauce cheese and salt! I will be a frequent returning customer!

Yep! Yep! Italian Street still is serving up very good pizza. For the last night of our OCNJ junket last week it was decided to go the pizza route even though the thought of hitting up any of the places in town is simply revolting to me. Sorry brothers, but Manco is crap and so is their price the same as Randazzo, Angelo’s, Prep’s and most of the others as well. I’m not paying either around or north of $ 20 for a pizza when I can make a short drive over the bridge to Italian Street and get two for the same price plus(here’s the important part) the pizza here actually tastes great. I can’t say anything about the rest of the menu(although it does look good) because I’ve only ever had the pizza here but the staff is friendly as is the owner who I exchanged pleasantries with. Some would say it’s crazy to make the drive to Somers Point when there are a ton of places in OC or along the way but the stuff that’s being rendered up at Italian Street is the real deal and shouldn’t be missed. (As a note to Philip W., the owner is not my brother-in-law or my brother or anything other than a guy that can make good pizza/food.)

Gem of a restaurant serving great real Italian food in an unassuming pizza looking storefront in a mall environment. I’ve lived in Ocean City for 7 years and had only gone there for pizza until a neighbor recommended their dinner menu. Delicious! Great Gianni’s chicken with mushrooms, spinach and roasted peppers which comes with pasta is my favorite. My husband loves the baked pasta dishes and calzones. Pay a little extra and try their homemade pasta. This restaurant is far superior to the other Italian places in the neighborhood with their fresh authentic dishes, always friendly service and easy on the wallet prices. And… the pizza is very good too!

The Best food if you are staying in Ocean City New Jersey? Take my word for it and cross the bridge to Somers Point and head to the shopping center with KMart and Passion Vines. Drop in at Italian Street! My wife and I continue to come here regularly, and have tried many of the Italian specialty dishes since my first review. Some tips for newbies: go for the inexpensive upgrade to Gianni’s homemade pasta, especially the tortellini with your dish. It is so worth it. Also, don’t hesitate to split a dish: portions are generous so Saturday we split the veal picante and it was out of this world with the home made Tortellini. We grabbed a nice bottle of red wine next door at Passion Vines for 20 bucks, and, this is kind of embarrassing, but our total for this split meal was under 18 bucks(after the pasta upgrade… such guilty indulgence!) You gotta be kiddin’ me! Sorry to the naysayers I saw here, but this place rocks: you could pay triple these prices and admittedly get better ambience and even service, but nobody in these parts can touch what goes on in the kitchen: Gianni is still the master!

I like how they turned a simple plaza store into a nice restaurant on one side and can still have the quick grab and go on the other. And by «side» I mean there is literally a little gate and tables on one side of the room. You get some bread and oil when you order so I am not sure why we also ordered Garlic Bread. it was just bread with cheese and some garlic. Too much bread! The boyfriend had the Homemade Lasagna $ 13.95(ricotta, meat sauce, mozzarella cheese). Definitely one of the best lasagna I’ve had! We also had the Bruschetta Pizza small for $ 10.95. It was a good size but because of all the bread we already had, we could not finish it.

We are visiting here from Philadelphia and wanted some classic east coast pizza combined with a byob and boy, did this place deliver! We ordered the calamari and cheesy garlic bread to start with. The calamari was on point and make note that the garlic has legit chunks of garlic. We then ordered our pizza and it was so delicious! Great crust and just the right amount of cheese and toppings. When we thought we were too full, our waitress let my husband try the cannoli filling which sold him on ordering dessert. Everything we ordered was so great, my husband says he’d drive there from Philadelphia just to have dinner. I would give it 5 stars, but the initial contact with the waitresses was under par. We killed them with kindness and it turned around which was nice. Either way, the food was dynomite!

I’m not sure whose brother-in-law is posting all these glowing reviews, but Unilocal*let us down again. We were coming into Somers Point tonight for the first time, and it was getting late. So based on all the high Unilocal*ratings we phoned ahead for a Margherita pizza and antipasto salad to take to the hotel. I’m tired, so lets just leave it at, we’ve had much better of each. And the prices were no bargain either.

I order a cheesesteak with provolone cheese and what I got was a cheesesteak with American cheese! Really how can you mix up the 2 different cheeses. They did offer to fix it but I was so disappointed I just ate my ff which fresh nice and hot. Please guys pay attention to customers orders.

We first went to Italian Street to try the pizza, we have had pizza from many other restaurants because we love it, the pizza here is truly the best in the area! We now have a new favorite Italian Restaurant! The crust is thin and crisp, or you can get a thick crust if you desire it. The toppings were fresh, crispy, and delicious! Next, we tried the sandwiches, an Italian, and a Meatball Parmigiana, again, Italian Street is the best in the area, much higher quality meats, and they were delicious. You get a toasted fresh roll with the hot sandwiches, You can get a soft or hard roll if you desire. Next time we visited, we had dinner, my favorite is gnocchi and meatballs, it was fabulous! We also had the capellini with red clam sauce, again, we were very pleased. The clams were fresh, sauce was delicious. Italian food is our favorite and we will be returning very soon!

Had dinner there in June 2013. Food is excellent. They need to step up the service and atmosphere a bit.

Don’t let the location in a shopping center fool you. Italian Street has the greatest Italian food that I have ever had in the United States. PERIOD. I came here with my family and ordered the veal picante as was blown away by the quality of the ingredients and the masterful skill used in the perfection of its creation. I tried a bit of everything my fellow diners had ordered and it was equally as good. I am very happy that we discovered this hidden gem. Their food is a pure delight to the senses with the perfect balance of flavors. On top of the food, the owner Gianni is fresh off the boat from Sicily and makes all the same great recipes he learned working as a child in his family’s restaurant. He and his wife are fun, warm and inviting. The overall experience here from the food to the service is nothing short of legendary.
