VERY rude female older heavy set clerk. I was there on January 1st, 2015 sometime in the early afternoon. Anyways I was in there for 5 minutes when this lady said. WEARECLOSINGIN5 minutes for lunch. Then she immediately locked the front door and steered us to the back door and MADEUSLEAVE. Did not even give us 2 minutes to get our bearings. I was going to dump a bunch of money into that store… Kinda reminds me of the scene in Pretty Woman… I left and would never shop there again. Hopefully this was NOT the owner. They really need to get rid of sales staff like that who are hurting their business. I left two stars due to very pretty glass in that store.

The store had some beautiful pieces and very nice overall. Except for the rude clerk, that made an unwanted comment when I was buying a shirt. I was buying a medium and the clerk asked me, «Would you like me to check the back to see if there’s a bigger size!» I really thought that was very rude and I was offended. She didn’t know if I was buying that for myself or as a gift!

Rude guy at the cashier. Refused to assist us and made an unnecessary remark when we were purchasing.

Customer service is WAY beyond expectations. I purchased a beautiful but fragile colorful tile depicting a vineyard, grapes, and wine as a birthday present for my mom. Being we were on vacation and didn’t have the room to pack it and take it with us, I inquired about having it delivered to my workplace back home. They did do shipping and so we packed it up and off to the Post Office it went. It was very adequately packed in styrofoam, cardboard, and bubble pack to insure a safe journey home. Well, you can guess what happened — — the tile cracked in three places due to mishandling by the Post Office. Even though it was insured, I needed it for my mom’s birthday on Sunday and it arrived damaged on the Friday before. I figured there was no chance to receive a new one in time and especially because of the weekend, but to my surprise, the employee who helped me, Lucy, came to my rescue and sent a replacement out on Friday afternoon with a guaranteed next day Saturday delivery by noon. It arrived in one piece and now I have my birthday present in time. This was all done before she even made the claim to get reimbursed by the Post Office. She said«Let’s get you the replacement in time and I’ll worry about the insurance claim later». Folks, this is WAY above the call of duty and I can assure you this would never happen at one of the big-chain-corporate-go-by-all-the-rules department stores. This is good old fashioned customer service the way it should be in all retail stores but is sorely missing in today’s profit at the consumers expense economy. Two thumbs way up for Windmill Glassworks and their dedicated employee, Lucy. Oh, BTW, did I tell you they have the most beautiful and unique gifts for the home in all of Solvang. And, they are very fairly priced, also.

My wife was looking all over Solvang for Delf pottery(Blue scenery on plates and etc.) We came here and they have the largest selection of Delf type pottery(The real Delf is only avaliable from Holland or from collectors – worth:$$$$) Friendly store staff. Located across the street from the Solvang Post Office.

The one of the cheapest places to find Solvang souvenirs! They’re opened till 8pm. The workers even let us stay till 8:30pm because my mom needed to pick and look through everything! Definitely very nice people. Lots of glass creations.

Lots of cool little trinkets and glass items in a town that seems to exist entirely for you to shop for trinkets and glass items. We got a cool salt and pepper shake for a pretty reasonable price.
