La Quinta Inn & Suites Slidell – North Shore Area

Stayed for one night to be near family in Slidell. There were small yappy dogs in two rooms across the hall that were barking from 8:30 — 11:30 pm. I notified the front desk and they said that dogs are not supposed to be left unattended by I guess there are no repercussions for not following this rule. Also, although it was a non-​smoking room, I think someone was smoking outside below our room and it was being brought inside by the AC intake fan. It smelled awful! To top things off, the pillows were very lumpy and the sheets were so cheap that they felt scratchy. Terrible experience overall.

This was a great place to stay, very clean, friendly staff, very helpful when I asked questions about the area. I felt safe staying there and leaving my vehicle outside. The room (120) was fresh and clean, plenty of room even with a King bed. My only issue was about 11:30pm, there was a knock in the wall or ceiling of the bathroom, sort of like a door knocker on a door, but only one knock about ever 10 or 15 seconds, did that for about 15 min and I went to sleep and started again about 12:30am, was annoying… but over all, was a great hotel and definitely would stay again. There is a Sams Club, Walmart and JCPennys near by, so you can get some stuff and take it back to the room.

This particular hotel is nothing special. But I love the staff here. The other major thing is they are pet friendly. But they treat you like you are special.

I booked this hotel through Hotwire. This is by far the nicest booking I’ve made to date. Convenient location, hotel was very clean and visually appealing. The bed and pillows we’re very comfy. Best sleep I’ve had in a while. At $ 59 a night, I really hope I luck up and get this hotel again in the future. I believe their regular rates start at $ 99 a night. I’d say I got a great deal, even after taxes.

Great La Quinta location. Tucked back at the end of a dead end road amongst a couple of other nice hotels, and far enough away from the freeway, it made for a peaceful nights rest. Well lit parking lot and friendly staff. My room was nice and tidy. Comfortable bed and pillows. A/​C blows nice and cold. Internet is EXTREMELY slow, which made doing some work painful. But, I was pleasantly surprised overall. I liked it so much I’ve booked 2 more nights!

Staff was friendly and there was a designated dog walking area with waste pickup bags. These are the only things going for this hotel. Build quality is terrible, we could hear noise from rooms next door and above. Breakfast was adequate, pretty much what I would expect at La Quinta. Our biggest issue was that there was a water leak under the sink that caused one of our suitcases to get wet, and dampness continued across the entire room. I discovered this at 10 pm, so I waited to report it in the morning. All I got was a «Sorry, I’ll let Maintenance know.»

Wifi internet is absolutely horridly slow. The breakfast is really bad unless you like thin cold egg patties and standard sausage patties. The room is decent, AC worked well, mini fridge is nice size. The Main reason for the low rating is the slow internet access. Also the curtains look like bacon.

A very nice La Quinta, I would stay here again.
We arrived fairly late and I didn’t have reservations. They only had had one room left, a suite. The rate was a little higher than the standard rooms but the employee who was working the night shift was very pleasant and we even got a discount.
Our room was huge, in fact it was two rooms. All the furniture looked new and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quite. It’s also pet friendly and they don’t charge a fee. You can’t ask for more then that.
Unfortunately we didn’t get the breakfast. Sandra who was working the morning shift was running late getting everything set up. We had to get on the road and didn’t have time to wait. We asked it we could get a cup of coffee and it seemed to be a huge chore for her, guess she was having a bad day.
Other than Sandra, everything was great. If you are looking for a hotel in the Slidell area, I would definitely recommend this La Quinta.

I like this la quinta, I have to say its my favorite in terms of quality. The hotel is fairly new, or recently renovated, one of two, and it shows. The rooms are always clean, the afternoon staff is always nice. Its a great location to the highway, and since I spend a lot of time on the south shore thats important. From this location, before rush hour traffic, its about a 30 min travel to Canal st. With rush hour traffic, as anyone who drives in NOLA often will tell you, it all depends on how many wrecks occur on inbound I10 that morning. The bed is comfortable, and its very quiet at night.
The morning breakfast could use some work. That is my only complaint about this La Quinta since the breakfast spread isn’t really the best of all the other LQ’s I have stayed at, lacking would be the best way to describe it. If you have ever stayed at a LQ then you know what comparisons can be made on the breakfast spreads in the morning between other hotels and this one. It is not a deal breaker in any way, but something you should be aware of.
