Lou’s Shoe & Luggage Service

I just picked up my favorite Vince Camuto black, goat leather booties and I am overly pleased with the quality and effort of the cleaning. Not only does the unique matte texture of my boots look amazing, the major gold accents are cleaned and polish. I can tell that they will remain so for a while. The BEST part is that they painted or covered up a few visible scratches on the sides of the boots soles without me even mentioning this! What a great surprise :) All for ONLY $ 10 this was a great value for such excellent work & I plan to be a regular customer.

Lou’s asks for payment when you drop off your items (not a problem). You receive a manual claim ticket indicating the charge, your payment and a zero balance; the ticket is also stamped as paid. Last week I presented my claim ticket and retrieved my shoes. The young man then told me the computer showed that I owed payment. I said, of course, I had already paid and referred him to the zero balance indicated on my claim ticket, as well as the store’s pay-​in-​advance policy. He responded that I could have altered the ticket to show a zero balance because, again, the computer indicated a balance due. What kind of business trains its employees to not only challenge its customers, but challenge them before even considering that the employee neglected to properly enter payment data?
I then spoke to the owner. He proceeded to interrogate me about my claim ticket, again referring to the computer and giving me the distinct impression that he thought I was lying. This is customer service?
I am a long time Lou’s customer, always paying in advance as required. I am outraged to be accused of stealing from Lou’s after all my years of patronage. This business does not respect its customers and knows nothing about customer service. I will be spending my money elsewhere. I urge any Lou’s customers to be aware that, at any time, they too could be accused of stealing.

We were so happy with the work that they do. Lou’s is really old school, the two brief cases that I had the fixed were perfect. They charged a lot more for the second case though. I just had a few pairs of shoes fixed.
