Great atmosphere, and drinks but the food is bland. Feels like they play it safe with flavor since that’s what has worked for them for so many years. Not bad, but downtown Sioux Falls has way better options.

What a lovely surprise this restaurant was! We are visiting Sioux Falls for the summer and this is the best food(and service! and atmosphere!) we have experienced so far. Our server, Tracy, was friendly and attentive! Good service + good food = *****

Had the blueberry pecan salad with salmon and my husband had the chislic. Both meals were the right size and price! We sat outside and had excellent service. They were generous with the bread refills. Great way to end the workday! I highly recommend!

We were in Sioux Falls for a weekend, and I’m so glad we found Minerva’s! The wait was long(2 hours) but with so many bars around, we found plenty of options to pass the time. I loved everything about Minerva’s: –Wine selection had just what I wanted(J. Lohr) –Service was amazing, efficient and friendly –Steak(filet) was so tender and delicious and had a wonderfully delicate seasoning to really make the steak shine. They even accommodated my no-bacon request and the waitress remembered that when it came to my side(delicious Brussels sprouts!) –The salad bar really stole the show. I still have dreams about this salad bar. Delicious soups(I had a tomato of some sort) great selections of mixed veggies, and wonderful prepared salads as well I would do anything to be a regular at Minerva’s. It was just really good food, plain and simple. It made eating dinner fun! This is a place I would absolutely make a point to go visit if I’m anywhere in the area or general direction… it was that memorable!

Me and my wife went there on a Friday night as a date night. Beautiful on the inside with a great wine selection. She got the Duck which was very flavorful and I had the Filet Mingon pasta. The steak was cooked perfectly and the Pasta sauce was great. Needless to say I will be stopping back next it’s date night!

My second review for Minerva’s Sioux Falls and it’s still a 5 star! I have dinned at the Minerva’s in Yankton, Bismark, Aberdeen, Watertown, Rapid City and Sioux Falls. If you’re from out of town I suggest trying Minerva’s if you’re debating on where to eat. I do suggest getting there early enough in the evening or lunch to avoid a wait. You can sometimes snag a seat at the bar if you time it just right. They do take reservations so I suggest calling ahead or just make a booking on their website. Things to try: The Salad Bar is awesome! My favorite is the Waldorf Salad with whipped cream. Also note the Salad Bar is the same for lunch and dinner except they remove the smoked Salmon at dinner time. Just so you know, the smoked salmon is yummy! The Tomato Zucchini soup is amazing! You can order this soup whether you’re having the salad bar or just table service. If you’re from out of state I suggest trying a South Dakota appetizer that’s not found anywhere else in the country: My only twist is to have some ranch instead of BBQ sauce to dip it in: BEEFCHISLIC — «A South Dakota Classic! New York Strip, Garlic Salt, Fresh Herbs, Bold BBQ Sauce. $ 11.00» My favorite main is the Honey Peppered Salmon. You can’t go wrong if you like fish! I’ve had this for nearly 10 years here and it still makes my mouth melt!

Oldie worldie sit down Midwest restaurant. It’s not awesome but the salad buffet is plentiful and it’s ok for a filling lunch or dinner. Kinda has that feel of a Denny’s or Morrison’s cafeteria if you’re old enough to remember those

We travel from Minnesota to SD, Minerva is one of the best restaurant review on Unilocal.I been wanting to try it but I was a little disappointed. We order the shrimp and scallops scampi and the Montréal strip, the steak is really good and flavorful. But the pasta was sub part, the lemon butter sauce was too sour and the pasta was overcooked. The shrimp and scallops were on the small size as well. After we notified our server of the issue she offer us a free dessert, and we chose the tiramisu. The dessert is not as good as we expected either it was simply too sweet and lacked the taste of traditional tiramisu. I will recommend order salad bar and steak in this restaurant.

Super atmosphere, service, food. From the minute you walk in the front door you are treated with respect and kindness, the waitstaff are friendly and knowledgeable, they make you feel like part of their family. The seafood the night we were there was outstanding, will definitely return on my next trip to Sioux Falls.

I was craving a salad and I’d heard that their salad bar was awesome, so I stopped in got a quick dinner. The salad bar turned out to be very light on actual vegetables and very heavy on pasta/potato type«salads». Romaine lettuce, olives, cheese, and ranch dressing(plus fruit, cheese, and crackers) doesn’t really qualify as a salad to me, especially for $ 12. The service was actually quite good, though, so I’d probably go back to try some of the other menu items.

It’s good. Really good. But good comes at a high price. I don’t mind spending a bit of money for a special occasion, but that’s all this place will be to us and even then, it’s hard to justify the money. When a bill for 2 is similar to my weekly grocery budget… The soups are very good. But soup is relatively easy to make, and inexpensive.

This place is definitely for the older population… The mamas and papas. The location of this place is ok, there is limited street parking(free after 5pm). I asked for the best steak that they had in house; the ribeye was highly recommended so I ordered it up with some white cheddar mash. The meal came out rather quick and the first couple bites were very blan; I had to mix the mash with the steak to add some flavor. That’s the first ribeye I ever ate that was tasteless.

A very popular place in Sioux Falls. The drinks were delicious, and the service was fabulous; they managed to find a seat for our large group on an extremely busy night. There are not a lot of vegetarian options on the menu, which is quite expansive. Still, if you have a big group, you’ll be able to find something for everybody here.

You cannot go wrong with one of the staples of Sioux Falls fine dining. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Try their brunch buffet as you will never go wrong. I don’t have a favorite because everything is so great. You need to treat yourself at least once in your lifetime to what is in my opinion one of the best dining establishments around. Highly recommended!

Ok the positive first: our server was friendly, they seated us right away and I enjoyed the dark contemporary atmosphere. I also thought the prices were extremely reasonable. Our Caesar salad was a nice size portion and very good, except there were no anchovies. The steak was seasoned very well. Ok the negative: the bread before the meal was not warm and the butter served with it was cold and hard, so pretty much impossible to spread. the service seemed a bit rushed. I like to take my time when I dine. The mashed potatoes were luke warm. And the food presentation was nothing special. Also, the person that gave us water when we first sat down just greeted us by saying«hi» in a manner that you could tell she really did not care. Overall I was disappointed with this place that has such great reviews on Unilocal.I wouldn’t rush back. The entire experience was just mediocre.

Great for a mixed group. Has a warm 1920s/speakeasy-era interior. I came within a group of 6 at lunchtime without a reservation and was seating almost immediately at a round table– conducive to conversation. To celebrate spring and warmer weather, the Watermelon Cucumber Cooler totally fit the bill. It tasted like a refreshing watermelon Jolly Rancher with cooling cucumber. Ahhhh! The Cranberry Pecan Salad of spinach, pears, gorgonzola, crasins, pecans, with raspberry vinaigrette was tasty and large enough to be shared as a side. For my main course, I was thoroughly satisfied with the medium-rare, juicy Dakota Buffalo Burger with my choices of savory blue cheese topping and crisp, sweet potato fries. Everything hit the spot HARD!

My wife treated me to dinner here to celebrate my 60th birthday and surprised me with the entire family! Second time I’ve been here. Service was great. We had 14 people at our table and the two waitresses did an awesome job of tending to our every need. 3 of us had the Ribeye, 2 of us had the Walleye plate, 2 had the Salmon plate, and the others had some great dishes that I did not note. The dishes were great. Salad bar had a lot of choices. We were all pleased with our dishes and will be back. This was an awesome evening for me in that it was my 60th birthday and that it was at Minerva’s. I wouldn’t have gone anywhere else. Thanks.

My first job was a busser at Minerva’s YEARS ago so I have to say I’m a little biased. It had been 5 years since I’d been back in Sioux Falls and I knew the first place on my list for restaurants was Minerva’s. I LOVE the Hunter’s Ribeye. It’s so flavorful. I got the asparagus which I probably won’t get next time because they were too thick for my taste but really that’s just me being picky. The Hunter’s Ribeye was A+++ as it always has been. I love how they’ve remodled the place as well. One thing I’d recommend them to change is the flavor they chose for the front of house mints. They tasted like cough syrup. Please bring back the fruity ones! Did I mention get the Hunter’s Ribeye?
