Fresh made food, friendly service, kind of expensive.
First up, that vanilla shake is very good. Give it a try. I will also come back next time and try a sandwich which look like large creations worth eating.
On my first trip I tried the Burrito Bowl ($ 9) and found it fresh and good, but not great. The chicken was dry, tough and lacking flavor. I did appreciate that it looked to be a fresh made hand picked chicken, though. Anyway, as much as I wanted to like this bowl more, you’ll get a much more flavorful bowl and more food at Chipolte. (sorry)
I also want to try a salad. They all cost $ 8, but it is another $ 3 to add meat giving you an $ 11 salad that doesn’t look very big. Again, it might be all about the flavor and fresh ingredients and I will definitely give it a try.
The sandwiches and chili dogs have my interest peaked, though. I’ll be back. Nice to see a truck doing something different and I like the concept of healthy food done right. (you do not feel very healthy, for instance, after eating one of the Corned Beef King’s delicious food truck creations!)

If you are expecting to grab a quick bite to scarf down for lunch, you are missing the point of Thatsalata in a big way. Hard to consider this a food truck when it is really a rolling gourmet restaurant.
I’ve gone out of my way to plan a trip to their locations a few times. I felt a bit let down the last time I went because my favorite chicken breast on artisan bread wasn’t on the menu. That was short lived as I had the vegi chili and immediately had a new favorite. The chef, and I found out he really is an executive chef with many years of F&B experience in the hotel and fine dining world, hooked me up perfectly when I asked for extra chopped onions. I followed it up by getting the Date Shake, which the other customers were referring to as «crack»! I can see why. I’ll have to seek them out again and again for the shake alone.
The really cool thing is that the food is guilt free. I really have to watch what I eat and all the fresh ingredients, lack of processed foods, vegetarian, and gluten free options mean I can balance my lunch without having to starve the rest of the day.

Husband to me «Sweetie, it doesn’t look like you’re making much progress with the unpacking of the house.» My response «There are food trucks to discover. We’re not in Hockeytown where we don’t even have good Chinese anymore!»
The only thing that saved me was the crack in a cup. He LOVES a good date shake and I LOVE salad. This is a match made in heaven.
Too bad he works in DC and isn’t very adventuresome… bring on those food trucks!

Now, I had been hearing about this Vanilla Date milkshake from my coworkers while I was on maternity leave… So this new momma had to try it out. Only problem is, I cannot tolerate dairy… BEHOLD! the shake is gluten free and lactose free!!! I was in HEAVEN. Soooooo deelish and oddly refreshing. Sweet enough to stand alone, but not thick enough to be its own meal. I paired this shake with a turkey sandwich with cranberry dressing. The sandwich was so fantastic! i don’t know the name of the soft cheese they used, but it complimented the turkey quite well. it was salty and sweet and good to eat! HA! I look forward to getting lunch again.
PS, I also tried their veggie chili. SO GREAT! even a carnivore like myself was able to appreciate it. Though, remember to bring gum, the raw onions will kill your neighbors.

The best turkey and brie torpedoes, fresh mozzarela torpedoes, veggie chili, fresh salads and incredibly delicious date shakes. Don’t let the «date» name fool you! They are dangerous. Once you have one, you’ll want one every day! Very warm and friendly owners who show that they care about serving fresh, high-​quality food. Don’t miss this truck!

Just had their vanilla date shake and a chili doggie — both super good! The chili dog is huge and is overflowing with chili and cheese. be prepared to get messy. It is a miracle how the shake is so good, yet doesn’t have lactose or cholesterol, so says a sign on the truck.

Wow! I was surprised because I thought they just served salads. I had their Chicken Quesadilla & yum! They had some sort of homemade salsa in it too that gave it a great kick! Thanksalata Thatsalata!

Super friendly @Thatsalata service. The D’Italiano sports a 3:2 bread-​to-​filling ratio on dense, crusty bread. Dressing was kept light enough to coat the meats and cheese without making the sandwich soggy. Shredded lettuce and thickly sliced tomato makes for a laterally unstable torpedo. Red onions were fresh, and the hots were reasonably peppery. Their vanilla-​date shake is the game-​changer that has me rounding up from three and a half stars: creamy, not too sweet, blended well. I’ll definitely be back for the shake and to try something else on the menu.

I found Thatsalata close to 6420 Rockledge Drive and was pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful chicken quesadilla. It was perfectly prepared and delicious. The date shake is to die for, but then again who wants to die? I should say it is to «kill for». Can’t wait to try some of the other menu offerings. Thanks Giovanni and Melanie. Enjoy the holidays. So good! I got the turkey brie sandwich and the vanilla date shake– the sandwich had a huuuuge piece of brie and lots of meat. And I can’t believe the shake has no dairy products in it! Not too date-​y, and really creamy! Mmmm… definitely my tues/​thurs lunch spot! (The folks who run the truck are super nice too!)

I stumbled on to this truck last Wednesday (11÷16÷11) and was VERY happy with my purchase and the vanilla date shake is to die for! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! You will not be disappointed.

Wow — bumped in to this food truck at gas station at Georgia & Colesville. they have crack in a cup with their dairy-​free date shake… I RAN through the office giving people a taste! and the sandwich — yummmmy… omg. omg — they need to stay here!
