I wanted a chain-kinda burger so we went here cause its the only chain restaurant in the area. I’ve never been to a Red Lobster so it was a little stupid of me to think they’d have more of an American-style selection. It was very much seafood. So we started with the lobster pizza which tasted like I had put it frozen in the oven myself… so meh. Then I ordered the burger, the ONLY burger on the menu, and it took almost 30 minutes+ for them to make it! The waiter(who was new) kept coming back and apologizing for the long wait«its the burger»…okay. In the meantime, we had drinks, which were sub-par and the AMAZING garlic biscuits. We kept asking for more cause 1) we were hungry and 2) they were awesome! My man ordered the seafood combo for $ 27 which had shrimp skewers, salmon and lobster tail… not sure how he rated his meal cause right after we left, he broke out in hives like Hitch! He isn’t allergic to shrimp or salmon, but I guess the lobster did it! What an awful experience. I could’ve saved my $ 80…never again. Just those biscuits though…

Mannnnnn REDLOBSTERHASFALLENOFFTHEWAGON… I’m sorry but I’ll never go here again. Why would I when I can get authentic seafood from a mom and pop restaurant somewhere near the water in Alexandria or B-more? Its not just this one either its the whole chain. They don’t offer you the same service, they are skimpy with the biscuits(lets be real thats like the #1 thing they still have going for them), and lastly the food has fallen off. This place use to be a childhood favorite! I’m sad to see this place fall off. Sorry guys but I have nothing good to say… I guess the biscuits… but guess what… Red Lobster sells their biscuits in super markets now. So I REALLY don’t need to go there now. smh sad day.

This place made me throw up! Never will I come here again! Let me reiterate… Came here during lunch time and waiting time was extremely slow. The hostess had to come and wipe the seats, which were nasty. You can tell that management does not inspect the tables very closely. I ordered the fish tacos and side of broccoli. Both tasted fine until my stomach had a reaction about 2 hours later. I threw up all of my food at work, and it was extremely embarrassing. I have will to reconsider going to Red Lobster at this location again. As a matter of fact, I will never come again!

Surprusingly good all around. Although we didn’t have a full on meal. Everything was good, fresh and the service was attentive. I always prefer for small meals, appetizers and drinks type, to eat at the bar. You get your drinks faster and the meal order always seems to go in and come out quicker. Seafood sampler and a round of LIIT’s.

I had the«Create-a-Lunch» meal again today — still $ 11.29 plus the cost of drinks, tax, and tip, making the total $ 17 altogether. The menu gives you a choice of two items from a list of around 10, including garlic shrimp scampi and clam strips(the two I had today) plus a side dish(from a list of mostly various kinds of potatoes and rice) and a side salad. While the portions of things like the scampi and clam strips are small, by the time you have TWO of them, plus the sides and their tasty biscuits) you end up with a large amount of food for that $ 11.29 price, probably more than, say, Ruby Tuesday(where I ate yesterday) gives you for $ 14.99. So doing the«Create-a-Lunch» is a good way of having a goodly portion of food without being overcharged. You don’t get lobster, but it is a reasonable price for a reasonably large amount of food of good quality. I am surprised at the number of 1– and 2-star reviews that this place gets. I give it a high 4 — not a 5, but pretty close, actually. Of course, many of the 1-star reviews seem to be from several years ago; perhaps they’ve improved over time.

I am a huge fan of the Red Lobster chain. But this Silver Spring location has issues. Service was good but they need to bring in a chef from corporate to show them how it is done. Red Lobster is normally great value for excellent quality seafood with a wide variety of selections. Go to any of them except this one.

If you dont know what to expect on the menu at Red Lobster then you must be living on another planet. I have come to this particular Red Lobster several times and have dined at the bar majority of the time. I find the bar staff to usually be friendly and definitely reliable and accommodating. Overall, this location is decent. I have never had any major issues or complaints.

I have to admit I was almost embarrassed to eat here. I mean — it is a chain. In Silver Spring. And it was full of over weight folks with HUGE portions of crazy calorie laden food. But actually — it was fine. We had the shrimp cocktail — excellent — huge shrimp and easy on the calories. We sent back the mussels because they were overcooked and gross. We didn’t need them so it was good that they went back… Hubby had the snow crab legs — they were a lot of work but yummy — and also easy on the calories. I had a small portion of rainbow trout, broiled, with decent broccoli and a really tasty salt encrusted baked potato. Somehow it was all sort of like eating at my grandmas house — and our server was super nice. A word about the biscuits. They are that good. And they are full of white flour and gluten and cheese and all things bad for you. But they are unlimited and oh so tasty. Beware of the biscuits — otherwise, this isn’t a bad option in Silver Spring downtown.

We gave the drinks a 4 rating and for the food we gave a 2.5. My lobster was overcooked and my cousin’s meal was just alright. The service was a 4. Our server was very helpful and friendly.

This red lobster location is always lacking when it comes to service. Not that it’s completely terrible I just have only had two time of getting great service here out of the numerous times I’ve been. It’s usually slow, whether they are busy or empty, but I continue to come here when I want red lobster because it’s the closest one to me. Three stars because there’s usually nothing ever wrong with the food, just not so great service.

I’m writing this review from inside the restaurant. I came for the«Endless Shrimp.» Perhaps I assumed too much by thinking they’d be coming out with some kind of predictable frequency. I’ve been in here for 51 mins and have only received one refill. I started with hand breaded shrimp and scampi. I got one refill of scampi, and I don’t think anyone is coming back. I could see if they were big shrimp, but these third world shrimp looked like they died of starvation. So I’ve had 18 Somalian shrimp that all fit on the same fork and I’m waiting on teriyaki shrimp. They’ll probably come out all skewered on the same toothpick. I’ve spent more time on Facebook than actually eating my shrimp. ***update*** We’re at the 54 min mark and I just got my skewer of teriyaki shrimp. Annnnd they’re gone. The clock now reads 57 mins. I wonder how long until I get my shrimp pasta. ***59 mins*** I got my pasta!!! It’s a Festivus miracle! ***1:11*** Pasta is gone. I asked for a refill of teriyaki, but I’m not getting my hopes up. It’s 1:50 pm. I should probably head on out while I still have some daylight. I’ll give them two stars because the food is good if you actually get it. The waitress was ok. They just need to invest in a faster canoe or whatever it is they’re using to get back and forth to the sea where they’re collecting my shrimp one at a time. ***1:18*** I give up. I’m going home. I asked for the check. Once the papyrus dries and she brings it to me, I’m outta here. (They’re singing happy birthday to someone. Someone aged a year while eating here. Sad.)

Went there before and the staff was decent. Last Saturday, however, not so much. It’s almost 11:40AM, I walk in. I tell the lady at the front I’d like a table for 3. She walks away and… nothing. Nothing. She doesn’t come back, I don’t get shown to a seat, nothing. And the place is deserted! I wait there about 10 minutes, I’m starting to bug a bit. One person asks if I’m OK and have I been served, I tell her that I told the front lady and(supposedly) she went to get a table, and that’s that. Nothing else. No one checking to see where this individual went. This doesn’t happen to me often, if at all. restaurants WANT your business, right? Can’t place an order until you’re seated. 10 minutes in and I’m done. I’ve been left alone by the front desk/hostess person and aside from one person nobody’s actually done a thing. So «See Ya», I go next door to another establishment. Our orders there totaled $ 65 not counting 20% tip, which Red Lobster did not get… because their staff could not get around to doing their job. Talk about disappointed.

I give 2 stars for the biscuits but that’s it. I ordered the tacos — with tilapia — they were terrible. it’s not just this Red Lobster but the quality has gone way down across the board. I sat at the bar and the bar tender was a great waitress — but made a terrible margarita. Honestly with all the other choices in this area I doubt i’ll go back.

Honestly, I knew Red Lobster is overpriced for taste, quality, and quantity. But after seeing their unlimited shrimp-fest deal on TV again and again, my husband and I decided to give it a try(hey it’s all-you-can-eat, at least we’re making up for the quantity portion) and made a trip out to Silver Spring. Other Unilocalers were right. Service was almost non-existent. Unless you had hours to spare, do not dine here. We were literally seated and then forgotten. It took almost half an hr just to place our order. When our waitress finally appeared, she appeared to be a high school student. She was very pleasant at first but as the night progressed, we could tell she was overwhelmed and overworked. When we placed our second order for the unlimited shrimp offer, she came back with hands around her face reporting that the kitchen was very chaotic and couldn’t handle our orders. Really? 2 orders of coconut shrimp was too much to handle? After sitting around for another hr of nothing(shrimp never came, water never refilled, to go bag never given), we decided our dining experience was a total loss. In addition, I only learned that our deal came with side salads which we were not offered after seeing it advertised on TV once more. My husband and I definitely felt ripped off.

My first-ever Red Lobster experience. I was really hesitant to dine here based on the poor Unilocal reviews but no real complaints from me. Came here on a Friday night. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. The place was busy so I figured the food couldn’t be that bad(as noted in the Unilocal reviews). I thought service would have suffered or be slow because it was so busy but I was pleased with my waiter’s professionalism and outstanding service. We ordered the seafood artichoke dip which was ok and the seafood trio combo. It is bit pricey for the amount of food you get but I think I made that up with all the biscuits I ate haha. Save room for the warm chocolate chop cookie brownie ice cream. You’ll have to park in the Downtown Silver Spring garage and walk.

I’ll start off saying service is pretty important to me when eating out(I’ve been in the restaurant industry for 15 years) and I will say that our hostess and server were both very nice. Also I think I really just come for the cheddar biscuits and they were piping hot and delish. So that’s one star for service and one star for my biscuits. Now that I got that out of the way: my boyfriend saw a long long black hair just curled up right on top of the mashed potatoes in his entrée. The moment our server set it down in front of him he let her know and she didn’t really apologize, although she quickly brought it back and said they were going to cook another one for him asap. Ok that’s fine, but I ate my entrée first while my boyfriend waited an extra 20 minutes for his food to come out. I was done by that time so we just packed his to go. Now I’m not a greedy person so I didn’t expect for anything to be comped. But some type of gesture, at the very least a manager coming by to apologize would have been greatly appreciated, and we wouldn’t have had to leave on a sour note. I still tipped my server generously because she was nice, despite her not knowing how to handle the hair situation more professionally. Man I’ll miss those biscuits, because this is the reason why I don’t do chain restaurants very often.

I decided to pop into the bar here last night after being stuck for 20 minutes in a traffic jam in the parking structure that was at a stand still due to an event that took place on the plaza. I had a great experience at a Unilocal event at another Red Lobster location, and had been planning to come back for some of their newly revamped menu items. I ordered a beer to calm my nerves, and an order of their shrimp and lobster stuffed mushrooms($ 8.79 for six). It was busy in the bar area, but I did find a seat at the bar without a wait. First things first: The bar needs purse hooks! I peeked underneath, and the bar is made of wood, so it would be a rather inexpensive addition to accommodate folks; even those with packages from the neighboring stores. Service was alright, but I learned the manager was on vacation, so maybe they felt they didn’t need to clear the dozens of dirty glasses piling up on the edge of the bar. Plus, sitting near the end of the bar was a bit distracting because of the clatter coming from the open kitchen. I get that swinging doors to hid the kitchen may not be doable, since it is a high traffic area for the waitstaff coming in and out. Also, other barkeeps(not mine) should refrain from inappropriate language when talking to their customer/friends at the bar… that’s all I am saying on that topic. As I said above, the new menu items I experienced elsewhere are awesome(I would of got the sweet chili shrimp, but I needed someone to share the 1,000+ calories with me). I do plan to come back here with a friend for a regular dining experience, but the bar area is not for me. Plus, no more HAPPYHOUR(according to my barkeep).
